      As a Cardinals fan I wish he had done it in St. Louis, but I am also grateful that the Dodgers treated him well last year and showed how to use him. His time with the Angels was painful.

      He only played for us for one season, but he had a huge impact on the chemistry of this Dodger ballclub. That's why he gestured to the Dodger bench with a hug. That was his thing last year. We loved him. We called him Tio Albert. So happy for him. It couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

    at 7:05 he looks at the Dodger bench and expresses his gratitude and appreciation to them. It was the Dodgers who believed in him when they made the call to his agent after the Angels released him. Most in baseball thought he was done and in his own words it was the Dodgers who brought the kid and spark back to the game of baseball for him. He succeeded with them last year and honestly I think he did well enough to get one last contract with his original team. He reaches the 700 club wearing a Cardinals uniform at Dodger stadium where the fans understood the moment and reciprocated the appreciation. Shakespeare couldn't have written a better story then this. Congratulations Albert "Tio" Pujols for reaching that incredible milestone.

    ‘93 kid here, my entire childhood was spent watching this dude beat the brakes off of Houston and hating him for it. 20 years later I found myself rooting for a legend to get a cowboy’s sunset, and I couldn’t be happier that he did. What. A. Moment.

    i was born in '99, raised mostly in St. Louis. i was fortunate enough to witness his prime firsthand during my most formative years. guys like Yadi, Waino, Matt Holliday, and especially Albert were responsible for me falling in love with the game to begin with.

Growing up across the river from St.Louis in a small boring town on the Illinois side just 15 minutes from Busch and watching this legend making my childhood into adulthood amazing as far as a sports fan goes!       @@mhmh2493 In May last year the Angels DFA'd Pujols and after he cleared Waivers the Dodgers picked him up as a free agent for the rest of the season to be a fill in Firstbaseman and pinch hitter.

    Sports can be magical, when players do and achieve things that cement them in certain categories that we knew they belong in its a joy ro watch! Baseball fans knew what Pujols was! No real fan argued that but now even morins cant say anything! It doesn't matter..who technically is the greatest when your talking about 100 plus yrs of something!
    Pujols will always be in that convo without question!
    I am from St. Louis 18 to 19 yrs old un his roomie season! What a gift to watch him play! Saw probably 200 games live! I was very lucky!

    Was at that game as a Life Long Dodger fan. I'll never forget it as long as I Live. Nobody cares that the Dodgers were losing. We just wanted Tio Albert to reach his Goal. What a beautiful moment in baseball. I'm so happy I was a part of it.

    I'm so happy to see Albert get to 700. Doing it in a Cardinals jersey just seems right. I can't think of a more fitting final season for a historic career. Hopefully, St Louis can make a long postseason run for Pujols, Molina, & Waino.

      There were some great series against the Astros back then. Those were some of my favorite to go to when they were in the same division. As a Cardinals fan, I immediately remember the Lidge game. (I imagine plenty of Astros fans do the same but with far different feelings about it.) The Killer B's were lethal & fun to watch. Biggio always seemed to have St Louis's number.

    I so desperately wanted him to break the record in St. Louis but Dodger fans did a great job with the noise and celebration. I was convinced there was no way he was going to do it at the beginning of the season but man has the St. Louis post all-star game break magic happened once again. I'm so happy he did it.

    I remember his first home run with the Peoria Chiefs before going to the MLB. We are beyond proud here in Peoria, IL. Such an amazing person all around. Well deserved

This is a very emotional moment for him and I too feel emotional in a happy way just watching his historic achievements. I will miss him and Molina when they retire. Albert isn’t just a home run hitter, he’s played 22 seasons, has a .296 lifetime avg, over 2200 RBIs, almost 3400 hits, batted over .300 his first 11 years with several years being over .350, Rookie of the Year, 3 MVPs, multiple Gold Gloves and Silver Sluggers, 9 playoff appearances 6 being NLCS , 3 World Series and 2 World Series wins…. Just a home run hitter? He’s the best player of this generation and easily one of the all time greats. (Let’s also not forget this is in a much more difficult era where competition isn’t just white guys from the United States but a global game with the most finely tuned athletes that ever lived)

      For me Ichiro was a better all around player. Most hits ever and 17 Gold gloves, but obviously Pujols is a better power hitter.
