I’m an Astros fan, and It makes me feel old when I remember he played against Biggio, Bagwell and the 2004 and 2005 Astros, The Man has had a legendary career
and that ball he hit in Houston is still going
@@lovly2cu725 I’m pretty sure all us Astros fans are over that, he hit that 17 years ago, but still unforgettable
@@lovly2cu725 and anyways we went to the World Series the game after that
There were some great series against the Astros back then. Those were some of my favorite to go to when they were in the same division. As a Cardinals fan, I immediately remember the Lidge game. (I imagine plenty of Astros fans do the same but with far different feelings about it.) The Killer B's were lethal & fun to watch. Biggio always seemed to have St Louis's number.

Well he is a former Dodgers legend so it only makes sense the fans gave him a standing ovation.

As a Cub fan and knowing we gave up 500 of those home runs...we congratulate you! We have loved the rivalry and watching you play! Amazing career to watch!

You are a class act!
Such an amazing person on and off the field.. Will definitely miss him in baseball!
From a Detroit Tigers fan
This man is 42 years old, and is STILL one of the most feared hitters in the game. Absolute legend.
Actually closer to 45...and that's what makes it even more impressive.
Also steroids help them out
What is also crazy is he almost went to the Finals in the Home Run Derby this year at 42 years old. He is something special
@@johnathancano1998 and almost hit a home run in the all-star game

The fact that he hit 700 he is a phenomenal feat and to do it with the team that drafted him is amazing.
Im tears 😭😭😭😭😭 🇩🇴🔥🇩🇴
I am glad he hit 700 at Dodger Stadium, the only stadium outside St. Louis that is clearly fitting for his glorious feat! So proud he was a Dodger last year! Congrats Tio Albert!
That smile shows just how much this milestone meant! Congratulations, Albert!!!
6:32 so much respect for Mookie giving applause. Young future HOF respecting a first round HOF.
When you receive an ovation from the opposing fans you know you're a legend! Keep it going #5!
I so desperately wanted him to break the record in St. Louis but Dodger fans did a great job with the noise and celebration. I was convinced there was no way he was going to do it at the beginning of the season but man has the St. Louis post all-star game break magic happened once again. I'm so happy he did it.
I don't watch baseball and don't know any players apart from Babe Ruth but this came up on my feed and I clicked. And this was an away stadium crowd? Magnificent ovation
Congrats Albert, as a 32 year old Red Sox fan it was great watching you and Ichiro as rookies back in 01. This was an awesome moment for baseball.
'01 Was a magical season with those two. Got me back into collecting Baseball cards so I can get them rookies baby!
It’s gonna be hard to imagine a baseball world without Albert Pujols. He’s definitely the greatest player of this generation. And my favorite player ever.
Congrats Albert
He is ONE of the best home run hitters in my 73 yrs ......the greatest player.....takes a lot more than home runs for that special category....but his value to his TEAM is why he is also ONE of the GREATEST !!!!
@@TheKhanhhoa respectfully, in today’s age…he’s one of the greatest of all time! True professional! Going to be truly missed by the game
Same. He's been my favorite since I was a kid, and seeing this... it's just incredible!
@@TheKhanhhoa you clearly don’t know much about his career. Albert isn’t just a home run hitter, he’s played 22 seasons, has a .296 lifetime avg, over 2200 RBIs, almost 3400 hits, batted over .300 his first 11 years with several years being over .350, Rookie of the Year, 3 MVPs, multiple Gold Gloves and Silver Sluggers, 9 playoff appearances 6 being NLCS , 3 World Series and 2 World Series wins…. Just a home run hitter? He’s the best player of this generation and easily one of the all time greats. (Let’s also not forget this is in a much more difficult era where competition isn’t just white guys from the United States but a global game with the most finely tuned athletes that ever lived)
For me Ichiro was a better all around player. Most hits ever and 17 Gold gloves, but obviously Pujols is a better power hitter.
I can’t imagine how many text/calls he received that night. He has brought so many wonderful memories and played the game with respect. He is an ambassador for the game. Congratulations!!
He really played it off like 700 did not matter to him...that smile! He wanted it! And he got it!! Congratulations!! Absolutely earned it! What a season!!
That smile when he rounded 1st showed he cared.
I am not a Cardinals fan but I admire Albert Pujols and I am so happy he is in the 700 club! Glad he did it in LA where he is loved and respected by the fans. This is a very emotional moment for him and I too feel emotional in a happy way just watching his historic achievements. I will miss him and Molina when they retire. Thank you Mr. Pujols for sharing your extraordinary career with us. Love a Cubs fan❤
That's beautiful what LA did! They showed great love to Albert, but nowhere, more than St. Louis, where it all began! What an ending to an amazing career!!!
