I know it’s hard for you guys to have it down for long periods and you’re not raking in funds like the huge RUclips channels do, but I wanna see that truck get rebuilt so bad it almost hurts to watch it get broken more and more lol. It’s just a work truck to Eric and he uses it so, but to me that truck is special and is the OG of RUclips and it surely has to have the record for most off-road tows by one vehicle so it definitely deserves a rebuild

What sets BSF apart is Eric does not charge for recoveries and most of the time they are at recreational parks. He started to channel to try and get some coin to help with the expense of the truck.
Other channels like Matt's and Trailmater, their business is towing and no doubt charge accordingly.

Yea i just recently went looking for this channel again. I can remember when it was named BSF recovery and remember watching 10+ years ago. This is nostalgia for me getting back

Cut the shaft off the broken axle shaft so it is nothing but the end with the bolt holes. Then put it on the axle housing in the weeds you took the new out of to keep rain out.

Save yourself some time and just put the busted axle in as is.
Eric for the axle shafts you break, you should put them up on a "wall of shame" with the date, time & event where it happened at. Another channel I watch; Cutting Edge Engineering; (a machinist in Australia), he keeps broken eyes off of hydraulic rams off of construction equipment, and those breaks are massive.

Glad to see that the problem was just an axle shaft. Even better, you had a spare! No $$ repairs are always a plus. Sorry about the belts, tho. Still, they should be cheap to fix.
It sounds like your wrecker could use a bit of an over haul. Ever since the wrecker games the motor has been getting weaker and weaker and just hope you give that truck a new motor it deserves cause that’s a hard worker

oh, I guess a leaf spring snapped, upon hearing the pop and seeing the rear left change height suddenly. but an broken axle shaft makes sense and even more sense with 4wd and the possibility of front/rear lockers being enabled. huge binding forces that change continuously.
I was right it was a axle shaft but I was wrong on which side it was on

I love watching this wrecker at work. I'm surprised that axle broke like that and I'm thinking it is from decades of work hardening until micro cracks developed and got bigger and bigger over a LONG period of use.

Hello Eric, I know you have higher priorities, but I think it is time to shake off that sheet metal version of a winch bumper and go with something less bendy.
You have ro remember that Eric isn't all that smart. He doesn't understand to need for torque. Even though his wrecker completely failed at the wrecker games cause his wrecker couldn't drive up a chute that everybody else was towing vehicles up.
@@jamesberggren9029 judging by your comment I would say maybe YOU are the one who is not all that smart....multiple typos (I will give you the benefit of the doubt there and assume they were typos rather than you being an idiot who doesn't know how to write....) also there is no reason for his truck to have more torque because the places he is using it for recovery do not require it, he is not pulling people up steep mountains. he is the OG recovery channel, show some respect asshole.

Erics wrecker is built for his area he dosnt need the same build as the desert wreckers he dosnt need more power he get everything done with his wrecker and the power it has more power = more broken parts

Always love watching your videos. Wish I had some money to donate to you. You work a regular job and have one of the best wrecker. You don't just throw money at everything you make what you have work not going to point fingers but the color yellow is one of the main ones keep making awesome videos.

It doesn't seem to be too rusty. And that's kind of amazing for being in Wisconsin. So everything else is repairable and replaceable. It's got many years left in it.
