    I'm one of those that started working out at age 50, after retiring from a desk job! Started with Yoga and swimming. Fast forward to age 53 and decided to get certified to teach Yoga and Core classes (thank you Sheila!!). 5 years ago, discs in my back decided to bulge and took me out of commission for several months - I honestly thought I was broken forever. After PT, I got myself back in shape, but man was it hard. I really thought I'd gotten to the top of my strength level and then I discovered SMM 6 months ago at age 62. Holy Moly!! I feel stronger than I've ever felt in my entire life. I now only teach out of my home on zoom with a few close friends. One of my friends takes care of her husband and since we've been doing SMM together, she feels confident to lift her husband when needed...she's 72 years young! I thank Tom, Jenni, JP and the whole team for a new lease on life...we will all age with strength now. Caety, age 63. PS: My husband does SMM too...he's never been able to squat because of his knees...now he can!...his age: 71

      Gymnasts and Dancers always get hurt because of those stretched out joints-. I have had to learn this the hard way. Thanks to you Jim, now at 70, still dancing, i've built myself up stronger in joints, all over. Thank the good Lord!!!!

    I'm just about to turn 60 & started SMM last November. I'm so much stronger than I was last year. I could feel my body getting weaker year on year so I was determined to do something about it! SMM has been a revelation for me! Thanks to Tom, Jenny, PJ & the team.

    15 months ago, my body was the heaviest thing I lifted....then I realised I couldn't even do THAT!!! Thanks to SMM, I'm getting strong....just bought my first ever set of dumbells, at age 60 😂 So excited to see what I can achieve, & love feeling strong. Huge thanks to Tom, Jenni & JP ❤ and I don't care whether you say longevity or longjevity....as long as you keep doing all this amazing coaching ❤

      I'm 60 too - and just about to join my local gym. It's great to feel that it's not too late yet to do SOMETHING, isn't it? Plus WE need to be lifting weights because of the havoc nature plays with our hormones at the moment

    Yessss! It’s never too late to feel stronger. I’ve only been doing SMM a few months (sporadically, had a lot of gaps for a long while) but I’m feeling stronger and moving better than ever in my entire adult life. Mand - age 44

    In the current fitness environment Tom seems to be the only actual natty lifter. Everything you say, show and teach is so relatable for me at 31 with a kid. Thanks for reminding me that I’m not getting younger and should therefore not expect my lifts to increase of even stay constant.

      Love to hear that! Yes energy for playing with the kids is the number one priority

    Long jevity is the way to say it. 😊 Also, I say DANCERS are the fittest athletes - and that's because they move their bodies in a gazillion different ways, strongly.

    Good to hear your take on strong, and definitely different for different stages in your life. I've only been doing the January reset and SMM for a couple of months and what a difference. I haven't lost a lot of weight but my body feels lighter now.... just cos I can move more easily. Martha 60+

    For me strong is being able to do house and garden and kids without strain and exhaustion going into the next day. Unfortunately, I am nowhere near there... But I am doing some mild core exercises to get started on being able to do things :]

    my main issue in life is not being able to control my impulses and stick to anything. If i could solve that one thing, i'd be super successful at whatever i do.

    Got a question. Would you say it’s still beneficial to sit in a squat with flat feet for some minutes everday, even though I’ve got quite a bit of buttwink?

    • @TomMorrison
      @TomMorrison  4 месяца назад +2

      Absolutely! Resting squat is totally fine to round your back, only if you were weighted up do you want to avoid spine movement
