They do speak fast, yes. Textbook audio files and learning materials are better for the beginning level for that reason.
If you watch the drama anyway, watching them will make your ears get used to the fast speed! ❤️

yes!!!!! If you say 만약에, you MUST conjugate the verb and adjectives to ~(으)면 or ~다면/라면.
Using 만약에 is optional!

선생님 '으면'은 언제 'when'라는 뜻이에요? 🙏

”으면“은 if지만 현실적인 if로도 써요. 그래서 if and when이라고 할 때 쓸 수 있어요! You can use it to talk about it as in more likely situation which translates as when in English 😉
