    Because of Dani, I've got plants growing out of all my fish tanks now. Except for a couple of bigger pots, I really don't have potted plants anymore. Most all of my plants are flourishing in my fish tanks, and I love it, and the plants do too.

    Dani’s plants are amazing! And now I want to try lots more plants in the tanks. I only have variegated pothos, but it’s wrapped around all the tanks and in most. It especially loves the guppy tank!

    i love the mangroves in my tanks. They actually dont prefer salt water but they can thrive in saltwater, they do much better in freshwater tanks. I have a saltwater and a freshwater tank both have mangroves and the freshwater ones are able to grow out much faster bc they arent fighting to keep the salt out. I also lovemy swiss cheese plant in my freshwater tanks and pothos they all do GREAT

    Your fish room, or should i say plant room, is super awesome ! Congratulations for the hard work. I was trying to do some research if we can put a whole snake plant underwater in a fish tank and it lead me to your video. I want to try that with my fish tank but i'm a bit apprehensive thinking that the plant might rot and damage my fish tank water quality and possibly hurt my fishes. thanks for your video.

    Do you have any tips on getting them to convert from their roots being in dirt to submerging them in water? I've tried two different plants (pothos and peace lilly) and both have slowly rotted. Thank you!

    • @SteenfottAquatics
      @SteenfottAquatics  9 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, the trick is to plant the plant outside of the water. So just put your planter next to the tank. Then as it grows, let the runners go into the water. Then eventually you will see it sending roots under water, and youre good to go.

    • @thebiotopes
      @thebiotopes 9 месяцев назад

      @@SteenfottAquatics Okay thank you. That makes sense for plants that vine like pothos but what about things like Lilly’s? I also noticed snakeplant in this video. How’d you all get that to adapt?

    New subscriber here. I have a thriving pothos and monstera deliciosa both about a few years old, and I really want to put them in an aquarium and create a symbiotic ecosystem. Can they go from being established in soil to aquarium just like that? If so, can maybe 1/4 of the plant be submerged without getting root rot or damage to the leaves?

    • @SteenfottAquatics
      @SteenfottAquatics  5 месяцев назад

      I usually just use clippings. But if im using a mother plant. I will set it by the aquarium and let it send runners into the tank. They will soon start to grow roots under water and once you get a decent amount of new roots under water, ill move it over.

    Total newbie. How do you know if anything is toxic? Is there anything that is a definite no go?

    • @SteenfottAquatics
      @SteenfottAquatics  Год назад

      Honestly just researching online. But toxic is a harsh word. My dogs have eaten plants that are toxic and usually nothing happens. Maybe an occasional puke. Usually it just causes an upset stomach. But its still worth researching and learning the levels of toxicity.

    Those supports look like wood, which bends over time with weight applied. The tanks are touching. What happens when the wood bends over time and applies force to the tops of the tanks where they meet? Catastrophic failures often begin very slowly and finish quickly. In other words, it seems like nothing is happening for a very long time and then everything happens all at once. I made this account just to make this comment. Please consider this.
