Repairing Miller Legend 302 1/2

- This is a Miller Legend 302 welder I just picked up at the scrap yard yesterday. The engine is a Kohler 20HP V-Twin and seems to run well, I still need to maintenance it. Nothing else seemed to be working. You can read more about it at www.millerwelds.com/resources/... Ultimately the problem was capacitor C41 on PC1 was bad. The cap was a 1200uF 300VDC electrolytic.

I found trailblazer in scrape . It cranks up but after 1 mint shows error no fuel and shut down . Don't know fuel gauge seems good may b pcb problem .u suggest what to do
Where did you get the capacitor from?
I happened to have that one on hand. But when I need to order them I usually get them either from Mouser or Digikey.
What's the deal? , those caps can be deadly.
Hope you discharged them before handling them.
You bet I always test them like I do 9 V battery by lightly placing my tongue across the terminals 🤪
I had a problem with my Legend the amp coil would work intermittently, with confused me i replaced the PC 2 board (almost $1000) the that didnt fix the no weld condition i started moving wires around and finally found the problem....But i love my miller!!
+Dennis Johnson I have to try that coz we just spent 3500 CAD on ours and still don't know how to turn it on

My machine has a "No Weld" condition...the Run/Idle doesn't work now...I only found a burned out D1 diode...
Did you end up fixing it. I have a trailerblazer 302 that wound idle or rev up
I have a 302 that won't idle up. Can you manually do this?
