Sending you love during this time. Re cities: This is a real millennial struggle. We ultimately chose a town in Connecticut where we could buy a home, access the culture we wanted, be on the train line to NYC. Think through your deepest priorities and that might help!

I'm usually a silent appreciator on most platforms but I wanted to take a moment to tell you how deeply I appreciate your content. I'm a fellow NC gal who just moved across the state back to Asheville (btw I LOVE East Fork too! lol) and I turned 30 last year, and I've gone through a whirlwind of life changes in recent years. It has felt so close to your journey in many ways. From navigating the pandemic, to questioning my career/dealing with burnout, balancing long-distance friendships and family relationships, and so much transition coming my way at warp speed- it has been so validating to see you handling such similar experiences and then to share them with such honesty and vulnerability.
I very suddenly lost my beloved momma last year and I cannot tell you how comforting it has been to not only see the close relationship you share with your own mother, but also to hear you speak so openly about your recent experience through grief. I am so sorry for your losses, your grandparents each seemed like such beautiful souls. Sending so much love your way.

I’m 31 and moved to LA at the end of 2019 from the Bay Area. Lived there for six years and previous to that, lived in Tampa for a few years. I’ve lived in 7 different cities and one other country and have never felt settled. My parents were in the military and I think it contributed to my restless nature. I think we’re both true nomadic souls and love to experience new places and people. I think life is too short to stay kn one place for very long, especially if your soul is being called to another city to call home.❤ I’m considering moving to NYC next or Seattle. But also want to live in London (but obtaining a visa is insanely hard). So I totally relate to you!!!
I’m so sorry for your loss. Please be gentle with yourself and understand that grief is a journey that comes in no particular order of stages.
I lost my grandma at the end of 2021, then I lost my uncle at the beginning of 2022 and lost my grandfather at the end of 2022. Grief has been overwhelming and I’ve been able to cope by spending time with friends and loved ones. Although most days, I just want to be isolated to process. I’ve realized isolation makes things more difficult for me but I also honor my feelings and capacity for others in order to not burn myself out during a difficult time.

“Is it really though? This feels like propaganda!” LOL you always manage during the hardest times to find the light and little moments of joy. Literally, the apartment with so much light landed in your lap. I feel really honored that you shared a teeny tiny piece of your grandmother with us. Her light carries on in you! I will say this video and the sit down dinner convo/catchup/where I’ve been video are my favorite.
Ps there’s something about the old kitchen that I miss, not the white fridge, but I can’t lay my finger on it. They’re so similar, but something is different.
Mom’s are the real influencers. I always think I’m satisfied with the items in my home and then I visit my mom and I’m like “you’re right. I do need a toaster/oven/air fryer in one.”

So sorry for your loss! I lost my grandmother in July, and I still randomly cry. You just have to be easy on yourself when it comes to grief. At least that is what I am telling my self! Enjoying your channel.

Shoutout to you for discovering Adams Morgan, it's one of my favorite areas. It's actually where my parents met so it always has a special place in my heart. I lost my mom last year and it has been extremely challenging but daily I find ways to connect with her spiritually.

The air fryer is everything. I bought my mom one and I feel like I use it more than her now lol I never seen a pan like that before. I need one for next Christmas. Hey Janea girl, I just wanted to offer my condolences for your loss. I’m more of a silent subscriber, but I always rush to watch your grounding, beautiful, soulful videos immediately. I remember watching your video with your beautiful grandmother and how joyful you both looked. Thank you for sharing her legacy & laughter with all of us. I lost both of my grandparents within months of each other and that grief is heavy and incredibly hard to wade through. I am so happy that you have this beautiful support system to lean on and I pray that love lifts you up whenever you may need it. I hope you also know that you can take all the time in the world before feeling comfortable sharing online again, and that all of us are so grateful for this corner you have already worked to carve out. You are such a life force and light in this world and I hope you never forget it.

so sorry for your loss! grieving a family member is something i'm managing as well as i lost my uncle, my mom's eldest brother in november. it's made the idea of family aging more concrete. loss is inevitable but you're right time keeps moving and all we can do is appreciate the time we have with each other.

My family and I lost my grandmother last year in August, and while she did get to live a long life, of course you always wish for more time.

Your not alone. I’m a mom and in my 30’s and lived in Florida, Virginia, New Jersey and NYC and now thinking about Atlanta. Maybe not though since being a mom has forced me to have stability for the kids. But I’m a nomad at heart.

I'm originally from SoCal so l'm back on the West Coast. I think my love of travel and moving every few years or so stems from my time in the military and working for the Federal government. For the first time in a long time, l'm starting to feel settled at least for now. I'm so happy that you have an awesome support system. I'm loving your new place.

I’m 31 and quite literally am pretty much starting life for the first time. My mom passed away 2 months ago after I was her full-time at home caregiver for 8 years (so right after graduating college!). Everything is possible and overwhelming and complex now but I’m excited for it.
We just got news that my grandpa will be moving into his final stages of life starting next week, so I’m wanting to be there for my grandma as much as I can.
Creativity is such a helpful outlet. And so is resting and not giving yourself too many expectations too. I’m gonna keep watching, but I hope you’re doing as good as you can be and will be praying for you and your entire family! ♥️

Ugh girl....im 39 and just packed up life in England (with my whole family) to tour southern Africa and then were moving to Peru to try a new life there. I think there is no box, the only thing is life. Just life and enjoy flowing through it.
