I live in Ohio and I want to travel and explore more of the US. I’ve been looking into van life, alternative lifestyles, etc myself. I’m sick of my corporate job and Ohio 😂

I second the other comments. I commend you for embracing these next chapters and writing your own story. I once overheard a guy talking to his friend while I was riding public transit many years ago. He was telling his friend about someone they knew and how they decided to change career paths; they couldn't have been older than 30 something at the time, and said, "she's too old to be changing things up like this. We can't just up make major life changes once we hit a certain age". I was flabbergasted at that idea despite being all of 20 years old. Even at such a young age, I've always thought life is full of so much more than we can ever experience. Why should we limit ourselves? Here I am now in my early 40s and I've worked in several different industries, even decided to move halfway across the country by myself to start fresh, and currently looking at what I want my life to look like in 4-5 years from now. You've got this! My grandma's sister used to say, "life is for the living".

Yessss to the end of the video. I gravitated to your videos because it stuck out in a sea of perfect routine vlogs. You always spoke with honesty and lived slower than, as you mentioned, the fast pace, unsustainable lifestyle vlog girlies that just aren't realistic for the average person. Loved discovering your vlogs in 2021 and the values you show - critiquing the system we're living under and questioning why things are the way they are while having an abundance of empathy. Came for the home decor content, stayed for the fabulous, honest person behind the content.

YES to real ass deep dives / alternative lifestyle interviews!! Especially BIPOC, queer & trans, folks w/ disabilities, undocumented folks, young people, older people (I feel like I see so little from the 50+ crowd on RUclips, but that’s also probably just the algorithm). Tiny homes, community land trusts, housing cooperatives, social housing models & any other kinds of alternative housing models. How folks live, how they cook, what self & collective care looks like to them, how the find joy & peace, etc etc etc. That would be so dope! I love how you’re in this place of thinking more expansively about what your path is & sharing it with us. So excited to see how you continue to grow 💗

I binge on YT sometimes, and I just find what I like to watch. For instance, I like watching Asian women cook and clean. I like how they do many things differently than how we do them in the states. I actually find many of their ways to make more sense and be more practical. Then I watch your videos because I love seeing young Black women living their best lives. Like me living vicariously through you and your friends. At your age, I didn't have that type of freedom just due to having a controlling mother and carrying a lot of trauma. At 44, I'm reparenting myself, healing from trauma, and looking at y'all young folks living your best lives that inspires and challenges me to do the same. For instance, I'm taking my first solo rich auntie beach vacation this Christmas because I don't have to sit around and do Christmas with folks who aren't excited about my presence, honey. So keep doing all the things because us old heads are watching and learning. I guess I said all of that to say, I love your content as it is. Do you and let other folks do them.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your last few minutes talking about alternative/optional and creative lifestyles. I've always been interested in hearing about, learning about and considering the "why's" in life and the creative opportunities that people choose to pursue! As an older participant, I've had friends who have recently moved into "tiny" housing in a communal setting (individual homes with a community center for community dinners and get togethers). This is much bigger on the west coast and only starting to come to the midwest. Seems interesting! So many other topics to investigate and you are just the refreshing, open person to do it right!!
You make such a valid point. Scholars definitely only speak to other scholars and sometimes these individuals aren’t accessible to everyday people. I say take your ideas and run with them because they are spot on! I wanna see that stuff too. I watch RUclipsrs from all around the world to see what their daily lives are like and their environments.
Yes, yes, and yes to your thoughts/ideas at the end of the video. One of the reasons I subscribed to your channel and get excited every time I see you uploaded a video is because of your beautiful authenticity that you share with us. I’m tired of seeing the “day in my life” content from creators that just edit the best parts of their day and ends with me feeling like I’m not doing enough. I love all the ideas you proposed because we need to challenge our thinking and view points. I’d be super interested in the video content you proposed. can i just say, as someone in their late 20s, it's so nice to watch these vlogs and see you being happy and exploring and living life in your 30s. i feel like there's so much media and culture that tells us once we're out of our 20s our life is "over" but this makes me hopeful that my 30s will be even better than my 20s so thank you for sharing :-))

For the end of the video, I’d love to see more of things like that. I actually was speaking to a friend about how burnt out I feel seeing and experiencing the constant productivity that’s a core characteristic of capitalism. I’d love to see alternative lifestyles ❤️
My favorite thing on your channel is the realistic chats/touching on more taboo topics. Yes to more of that. I remember at one point you and Shelby were talking about the cost of education in the US vs Europe and how the system is so messed up. And I was like lmao yes people on RUclips who also want to dismantle capitalism!!
I agree about the content of people journaling, time blocking, filling out their agendas/planners, cleaning their homes, etc etc etc. At the moment, I am not THAT busy. I feel as if I'm doing something wrong lol. I love the idea of exploration of other folx, lifestyles, etc. What a cool idea!! :)

I like the idea of seeing how other people live or transition to tiny home living. Or being minimalist when you don't make six figures a year, lol. Or other ways people spend their free time that we don't normally hear about.

I'm late but you and Shelby interviewing people from different backgrounds: communal living, tiny homes, anthropology people , etc...would be great. It was interesting when you guy went out of the country (I forgot where exactly) and you guys were comparing the standard of living/health insurance and the commentary was real and hilarious.

I loved your idea and little rant in bed about people supposedly having "perfect" "very productive" routine. As an immigrant, I saw firsthand that this idea of constant productivity and making money was truly killing people inside and boom, COVID truly showed me that even more. I work as a social worker and workload has intensified since COVID and especially because corporations are refusing to really hire and are pushing that narrative of constant ridiculous productivity madness. Consequently, more people are being burned out and more people are resigning and taking a BREAK (well, the ones who can fully afford that break) It's okay to have a normal day of niente (not doing ANYTHING) Yes to interviews!!! I'd even be down to be interviewed as someone who lived in another country with different values than America so I loved loved loved this idea!!! I look forward to more.

Yes to your question in the final conversation---lifestyle being about more than 1 type of life. I'm excited to hear more about all of us because where I am in the Boston area as a scholarship student, this city is extremely gentrified. It's like there's parts of the city I can pass by but never know what it's like to live there. I have a tone of privilege being able to afford public transit and hold down a job but my lifestyle doesn't connect with most of my classmates' (many of whom come from inherited wealth and have very different experiences in the city than I do).
Yes to exploring different lifestyles, especially focused on those that don't "fit" the expected "image" of those alternative lifestyles. Loving these travel vlogs you've been giving us, too. I'm currently in a position where I'm not able to do much more than road trips (which I love doing), so seeing other Black women travel abroad makes me so happy.
ah the mention of anthropologists, i love! i studied anthropology in school and being a black female in the field is quite interesting. love the way you want to engage with people of different lifestyles!
Love what you said about the productive/morning routine videos... I never watch them because I have no desire to wake up at 5am everyday or go to the gym every morning lol or make a perfectly healthy looking breakfast 😂

Hiii ! Me and my husband sold our house Reno’d a camper and moved to FL to live in it.. it’s a long story but the short version is camper living was great except you only get 5 minutes of hot water for showers… so hair washing day is hard and the laundry situation is SO hard especially with kids ! I would do it again short term if I could see the end in sight , but long term… I really enjoy doing laundry everyday and a nice long hot shower to decompress !

Lol yeah stop with time blocks and journaling, and I stopped drinking green juice after doing it for 3 years bc it was causing bloating for me. We just need to do why we need for our bodies and situations. My work schedule doesn’t allow morning workouts as much as I wish I could do that. And right now I’m too tired and I don’t have a home gym to do a light workout. But not comparing, just finding my own ways

Oh my gosh yes, I was just thinking about what you shared at the end of your video! The “productivity” content can be exhausting at times. Maybe I’m just a boring person lol but when are y’all resting? Not every minute of the day needs to be filled or “productive”. Also, rest is productive too. Would LOVE to see more videos on the topics you suggested!

The “watch me make my breakfast” got me! Lmao I used to absorb those videos cuz I just wanted some good influence to start my day. Of course, you get older and maybe you don’t need that inspiration. Although I do see an uptick in the same concepts, shots, routines and it’s because no one knows how to make sure they stick out and isn’t curious about what’s already out there.
I really like your idea from the end of the video! Interviewing people with different lifestyles, exploring people who decided to not live within capitalism, those are all ideas worth exploring, and I don't think we see a lot of that content being made on platforms like RUclips. But also I do enjoy seeing your vlogs - as a 30-something, it's nice to see other 30-somethings on RUclips, plus I do really like your design aesthetic. Either way, I'll keep watching :)
