    As an ex-Londoner of 9 years (!) and a fellow small RUclipsr, I can honestly say that your video is spot on! There's only so much you can say about London in a 20-minite video, but you covered pretty much the basics and you are being very objective! I loved it and I relate. I left this September and moved to Copenhagen in search of a less stressful life and a smaller capital. I needed to experience something else, just to see how life is outside of London. London is a trap haha. Life does not end when you move away from London 😂 but I can very honestly say, that comparing anything to London is a lost game, because London wins every time. London is like New York; one of a kind. But depending on your situation, you can lead a calmer and fulfilling life away from London.

    Ah I'm seeing this at the perfect moment! I used to live in London before the pandemic and I'm moving back in a couple of weeks. When I moved out I thought I'd had enough - and now I'm finding myself being super excited to get back. Your video is spot on !

    Loved that video, I lived in London for 3 years and can pretty much agree with everything! The only thing I have to say is that now as I'm not living there anymore it was like getting off drugs. You had everything available to you 24/7 and it's really hard to have a slower live again haha

    I'm moving out of London in a few months, I think I could spend longer here but the cost of living in combination with the pressure to say yes to everything is so real. My savings have dwindled and I feel like I haven't got as much out of it as the years go by. I'm now debating moving to Barcelona or another city with a slightly slow pace of life after a stint in my hometown. Would love to know how you find Portugal!

      it's so draining, I'm so happy to not be there anymore... to be honest. the only elements I miss are the friends I left there, and all the good restaurants and coffee haha!

    Living in Berlin currently, originally from Seoul, and planning to move to London before end of next year with new job which I am working on it:)
    Been to london a few times and fascinated by the energy and I missed the dynamic I had from Seoul, but still do not want to leave Europe yet so I chose London. I am quite career oriented and really like to try new things and I started to get bored with things in Berlin after 7 years. Guess it is time to change. My biggest mistake while I was in Berlin is that I should have taken a lot more seriously about speaking local language - i mean after 7 years I still feel like tourist - this is also one of the biggest reason that I wanna go to London, since everyone will understand me at least 😊
    Qq: where can I find the average salary level in London internet? Do you have any websites in your mind?

    7:51 dating in london is good if you want to have fun and you meet the standard of beauty. If you’re looking for something serious, don’t meet the standard of being slim, white, pretty etc then it’s awful and quite draining.

    Lived in London for 1,5 years and couldn`t wait to leave, the city was making me so depressed. Everyone seemed so miserable and I`m the kind of person who soaks up everyone`s energy so places like public transport were so unpleasant. such an antisocial city also, everyone wrapped up in their world never sharing a smile or eye contact. I have no problem meeting new people but building relationships was impossible in London, no one ever had any time to meet up, people are so busy all the time not to mention the distances from one side of town to another are crazy so no one wants to make the effort to hang out. oh yeah and the rush... cmon! that`s no way to live life!

    • @mreesking
      @mreesking  7 месяцев назад +3

      these are all such important points, and i think i can relate to all of them! i’m the same as you where i feed off peoples energy.. and sometimes it was hard maintaining that in london 🥲 i guess everyone reacts differently to the city - but i’m glad we are both in better places now!

      of course, there are so many positives, like you mention in the video, I do miss the thrifting, clubbing and the pub scene but all those were expensive for a European salary 💩

    Buses are 1.75 now, for 1 hour. But transport is privately owned and is filthy expensive. Probably the most expensive in Europe. Unjustifiably expensive.
