Movie Review: Tyler Perry's Boo 2! A Madea Halloween
"We're not going for plot, we're going for words" haha loved it
These Boo films have the potential for comedy like a non-canon story where there's a zombie outbreak, the town is closed off, have Medea and her family kick zombie ass and then convince the man behind it all that he needs Jesus in his life.
Carrie Kube like a Treehouse of Horror episode. Like a movie where Madea goes to Transylvania and has to kill Count Dracula
Or how about having her go after 70s blacksploitation character, Blackula? (Medea Meets Blackula) The Treehouse of Horror route would be the best the Boo sereis.
Honestly that's just what i wanted these to be.
Also Witness protection, only with the Mob instead of Supernatural stuff.

I was in a World of Warcraft guild for a short time where the Guild Leader praised these movies, even though I pointed out the inconsistencies of the plot, bad acting, etc. Suffice to say I left that guild soon after, there was no bad blood between us but I was like...yeah, no moving on.

Last week I saw Blade runner 2049. I was the only person there. I had the Theater all by my self. It was both awesome and also a sad statement on today's cinema culture
Yeah, people don't want to see 3 hour movies they know nothing about that are sequels to cult classic movies that they also haven't seen.
Tyler Perry is actually a decent dramatic actor, when someone else directs a script written by someone else.
A movie about Madea's funeral should be called Madea Boo Hoo We Hardly Knew You:
This film got #1 at the box office while Blade Runner 2049 is a bomb. People keep saying that 'a lot of movies in Hollywood suck' without realizing that audiences are part of the problem. Instead of seeing good flicks like Dredd 3D, Hardcore Henry, or Blade Runner 2049? They go see bullshit Transformer films starring Marky Mark, his Funky Bunch, Merlin, and Hannibal Lector...Pirates of the Caribbean part 57 which is the same movie as the first one...or Madea's STDs brought to the big screen.
While I agree with your general sentiments, I didn’t think that BR2049 was all that good. Certainly nowhere in the league of the original which was an instant classic and holds up well decades later. BR2049 was a little boring imho.
Blade Runner 2049 was a movie that was never going to make movie; it's a long movie that was marketed on name alone, when its name was that of a cult classic movie. Of course Madea made more money; anything with an audience would have.

Well, the mom (Debra, iirc) was a literal crackhead in the first couple of movies, but that was when she was played by Cam from Bones. So yeah, Tiffany would have turned out worse in her care. To write a rare sentence, the kids were better off with Madea in their lives. And yes, Tyler Perry movies have had incest in them. I don't recall anything on screen but the earlier movies often had childhood sexual abuse as the backstory, most of it incestuous. The movies before Witness Protection had some fucked up shit in them.
Considering his childhood, it makes sense.

I think he's mentioned a couple times that he uses his rewards card so he gets some movies for free. But you have to go to the movies A LOT to get that reward (I always just get a free small popcorn or small soda).
Never mind, further down he said just that: He writes off theater tickets as business expenses, and makes it all back in ad revenue. So I guess I don't feel so bad watching him suffer through Madea movies.

Of all the reasons applauding a movie is silly, that 'they can't hear you' is not really one of them, in my opinion. Everyone knows that, it's just someone expressing that they liked the movie, like a more sustained exclamation at an awesome moment. Yes, in a silly way, and it's annoying, but I presume the people doing it are not complete idiots.
You know what really angers me about this? They removed all the RPX showings at my theater for Blade Runner 2049 and gave it to this shit and they removed the IMAX showings as well and gave it to Geostorm..... *sigh*
It sucks, but I think theaters are only obligated to hold a movie for 2 weeks. If a movie has premium format screenings, then those are most likely the first ones to be dropped.
Doesn't help that Blade Runner 2049 isn't doing so hot here, but why give the RPX screens to Madea?! At least Geostorm was made for a bigger screen 😵

I can't wait to see next year, where they have the frat boys pull off an alien abduction by having their nerd friend that's great at painting miniatures.
This made me wonder if it'd be fun to see a comedy horror movie that occurs at an old folks home for old child investigators... The Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, Scooby Doo gang... and it's a murder mystery :-)

The review for the first one is actually longer than the runtime of the film, which is pretty damn impressive. The worse the movie, the longer the review because there's more complaining that must be gotten out.

Went to Walmart and saw a whole shelf full of Tyler Perry movies dedicated to this movie coming out. The Fifty Shades Darker shelf seemed more pleasant. And that was because less people bought their merchandise compared to Tyler Perry.

It isn't often that The Cinema Snob and CinemaSins spotlight the same movie in the same week... In fact I don't think that's ever happened... But the first movie was so bad they both had to release their cathartic contempt for the movie to prepare for this one.
I certainly doesn't envy your job. I can't imagine watching a Tyler Perry movies with overly boisterous viewers without wanting to move to Venus.
If you're curious about that bit in the end about how well Perry has done, he has made several successful TV soap operas recently, mainly on Oprah's network, and now his net worth is estimated at $600 million(!)
