Can I just say what frustrates me about the Madea movies is how they advertise themselves as comedies but end up primary being some domestic drama along with 5 minutes of Madea
I seen Mad Black Woman, so I knew what the formula was gonna be like. The fact that so many people still get fooled by Tyler Perry says less about him as a filmmaker and playwright and more about how stupid the audience is for falling for it. Hell, the whole point of Diary of A Mad Black Woman is to fool you into thinking that Madea is the Mad Black Woman of the story, when it's Helen.
What a disappointment, I want to see Medea go toe-to-toe with a masked slasher villain who targets old ladies or protect some kids she's babysitting from a boogie man who wants to eat them.
Hell I would actually watch a Madea halloween movie that was just a spoof of slasher movie cliches with Madea as the killer. She could even use a chainsaw like she did in Dairy of a mad Black Woman.
@@SpringTigress1 Fair enough, but I could see the pitch idea for Madea as the killer be used in a movie set in an alternate universe where she snaps and goes from a jerk to a full-on villain due to some horrible thing happening to her.
@@SpringTigress1, @Carrie Kube, and @Tit Maus But the ideas for Madea battling a masked slasher monster who targets old ladies and the idea where Madea protects some kids she's babysitting from a child-eating boogie man could be used for in-continuity stories where she redeems herself, overcomes her bad habits of being a rude, stupid, repugnant, selfish person, and she becomes a hero by succeeding in protecting those kids from a boogie man and succeeds in protecting a community of old ladies from a slasher monster.
I swear, if Tyler Perry were white and still made the same films, they would be considered a damn hate crime and people would be calling him a damn Klansman. That's how racist these movies are.
This movie is scary as hell. Not in the ghosts and monsters kind of way but in the way that makes you doubt the integrity of cinema and fear for the future of comedy. You won´t sleep for weeks knowing that this turd of a movei exists.
John O ́neil The integrity of cinema is not at stake here. This movie was ignored by everyone except enough dumb people for it to make a profit due to its low budget. The integrity of cinema came closest to being challenged by “The Emoji Movie,” and that’ll just spell bad things for animated movies. TL;DR: If this movie challenges the integrity of cinema, the problem is with cinema.
Pfft, that just means that you never saw _Furry Vengeance,_ not that it makes this Madea film look respectable by comparison. Even then, neither cinema nor comedy have imploded because of either movie.
John O ́neil how and why is it scary? The teenagers in the back chasing Madea didn't show their faces much. And the monsters weren't fleshed out much. if I were you just look at Madea the whole time XD. Tyler Perry is it the scary type
Yes. Don't tell me you've never done it! Every pipe comes equipped with a high tech device that can easily be hacked by frat boys to write impossible shit in the mirror. That's just common knowledge!!
Toaster_Tester well that was the guy who put a really deep and memorable quote ON FREAKING SPY KIDS 2 ISLAND OF THE LOST DREAMS.....so yeah he would definetly improve some (if not every ) thing I'll also add Danny DeVito because goddamit EVERY movie should have Danny DeVito
Imagine how hellish it would be if Pure Flix ever decided to do a collaboration with Tyler Perry? It might actually be so bad it'd take a 2 hour long Midnight Screenings episode just so Brad whoever he reviews it with can finish talking about it.
Christ! I feel like I owe you guys an apology. I had no idea this was the kind of shit you guys were subjecting yourselves to in the Midnight Screening videos. You guys deserve sainthood for sitting through this shit.
You see that would be a valid question but you forgot one thing: This is Madea. There is no reality in Madea. There is no salvation in Madea. There is only pain and darkness in Madea. So your question becomes as meaningless as your life when faced with such a horror that is Madea. The End is coming, The Skies will open and reveal the true face of God: Tyler Perry
The main moral I get from these Madea movies is that it's OK to be an utterly repugnant human being who is rude and selfish and stupid, as long as you're a sassy black woman.
The moral of the Madea movies is that is that it's OK to be an utterly repugnant human being who is rude and selfish and stupid, as long as you're a Christian.
We called our grandmother Madea while growing up. This was way before the Madea movies came out. She acted nothing like this. She was classy, intelligent, sweet, and funny. I know Tyler Perry said he based the character on his aunt...but if I was his aunt I would be insulted if he depicted me that way. Love, your friendly neighborhood Blasian.
My dislike of Tyler Perry isn't a racial thing. There are a lot of black actors, writers, and directors I like better than Tyler Perry. Literally all of them.
Same. I love Viola Davis, for example. She deserves the Oscar she got for Fences, as well as every other award she's won. Just like Lena Waithe deserved the Emmy for Best Comedy Writing. I also love Daveed Diggs, Leslie Odom Jr, Octavia Spencer, Aja Naomi King, Alfred Enoch, Amber Riley... You get the picture. Tyler Perry just sucks in general. It has nothing to do with race.
Samuel L. Jackson, Will Smith, Denzel Washington, Daniel Kaluuya, Keith David, Danny Glover, Mahershala Ali, Morgan Freeman, Chadwick Boseman, Laurence Fishburne, Don Cheadle, Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer, Whoopi Goldberg, Oprah Winfrey, Taraji P. Henson, Angela Bassett, Lupita Nyong’o - all some of the best actors of the past few generations, not to mention classic trailblazers like Hattie McDaniel and Sidney Poitier. And then there's Madea.
There were lots of referrences to her in the Midnight Screenings for this movie, and Lewis makes her a more convincing old lady than Tyler Perry does with Madea.
Madea's Family Reunion actually foreshadowed this movie. Brian actually says his kids are great *because* he leaves them with Madea then a few scenes later he says he's not leaving at Madea's anymore after Madea punches her foster daughter. Tiffany's attitude in this movie is the direct result of NOT leaving her with Madea as a sitter.
Yes, while I am not a huge fan of Chris Rock, I do respect his talent though, and would rather watch any of his movies and stand up shows, over what ever Tyler Perry "insult to the art of film making" that Tyler Perry has created.
So, never watched any of the Madea movies, but I always thought Madea was in fact supposed to be a cisgendered woman. The "that's a dude" make me laugh, but at the same time, is that character just joking about Perry's mannish Madea? Or is that a thing? What about the prostate comment? and the voice change? I feel like a an intellectual failure that a Madea movie has me honestly confused about the nature of one of its titular character.
From the wiki page about Madea’s family: Madea’s brother Joe is Madea's most recognizable brother as he lives with her and frequently appears in Madea films. A wise guy who's very coarse, misbehaved, and ornery, Joe has no qualms with such tendencies as openly farting and hurling about insulting wisecracks about people, including Madea. Despite being elderly, he constantly makes crude passes at younger women. Joe regularly smokes marijuana in spite of his need to be on oxygen. On smoking marijuana, Joe has stated, "God made this for us. God made this little tree, Viagra and oxygen. Put them altogether and you can take a woman to heaven and back!".
Haha, Dom and Bradley are in a movie! I had no idea. Thanks for highlighting/saving me from this movie that I will never willingly watch, Mr. Cinema Snob!
"No heroes." That's what makes these films so irksome. There are people who watch them and look at Medea as a role model. People think her "tough love" and "tellin' it like it is" are traits which are not only lacking in the world but whose absence are to blame for the state of the "world" (read: whatever tiny fraction of it they live on). Never mind that prisons are full of people with rough, violent upbringings. By Medea's logic, I guess they just haven't been beaten, physically or mentally, hard enough yet.
Hell the woman herself has broken God knows how many laws. And continues to do so. By her logic her strict uprbrinnging should have made her a model citizen.
MissAshley42 100% agree. Tyler Perry's representation of young people and how they should be treated is hateful. He intentionally makes them all shitty to justify beating the shit outta them. Plus considering over 80% of American households approve of corporal punishment, he's just preaching to the choir. In a Halloween movie of all places. It's cheap.
Tobe Fair, Sean Hannity is being proud of being beaten which he got from his father, so if you ask consevatives who truly are for such punishment, they will they you, they are in prison because they haven't had a father to set them straight. Also, prisons are more Realpolitik, than the real world, gangs that usually hate each other along bigoted lines push and sell dope together and trade in weapons on the outside, so hypocrisy truly lies in the eye of the beholder.
Servo Augusta Madea actually acknowledges this when she goes to jail and its within the franchise that she has anger issues and is irresponsible. She was a thief, a stripper, has assaulted people, has to always be bailed out by her lawyer nephew etc. In this particular movie it shows that the ‘good parenting’ is guiding them, letting them face the consequences of their actions, and forgiving them when they try to redeem themselves. Madea’s one redeeming trait is that she genuinely cares about people under her wing and has the occasional insightful moment. Like the physical punishment is the irresponsible, crude, etc people’s suggestion.
Let's put it this way: Madea's Christmas made me wanna beat Madea to death, this one makes me want to put Madea as the opening victim in a slasher movie.
I never in my life thought I would sit through a movie review that’s 10 minutes long, let alone 21!!! But you played this so well! Lol your sarcasm was perfect! This movie was shit and you detailed it entertainingly well! A+ on this review my man! Straight comedy
Well, people pointed out to me earlier this year that Brad might be waiting on the Elm Street 3 review until October. That would be appropriate since this month included other slasher franchise sequels, Halloween H20 and Jason goes to Hell. Brad wouldn't skip an Elm Street review on it's anniversary year so yeah, I think we're going to be treated to the review next week.
They need to do a Madea vs the clumps ...they go on Family Feud... there would be an entire cast played by two actors... Pepper in a little bit of Steve Harvey having to put up with that s*** and you got yourself a Blockbuster!
Tit Maus Yup. And yet Robert Zemeckis, a brilliant filmmaker with genius movies, never gets any credit. Whether any of his films are “creepy looking, cliched and a terrible adaptation” (The Polar Express), “too sentimental and patriotic” (Forrest Gump), “just plain stupid and unfaithful” (A Christmas Carol) or “too flawed” (Cast Away), nobody ever gives Zemeckis the credit he rightfully deserves. All because “he only cares about special effects, nothing else”. And that’s only when anyone has actually heard of him. Because most of the time, nobody ever knows who the hell Zemeckis is.
The weirdest appearance of Medea was probably House of Payne where she literally tries to kill the husband and everyone just shrugs it off as "Ohh Medea".
I get the original actress who played Tiffany was too old to reprise her role but she could have got cast in another Tyler Perry movie like most of his other co stars.
So I’m not up to date on my Madea lore, but I’m pretty sure the Miss Hattie character is just Jaleel White in an old lady getup playing Steve Urkel’s visiting grandma.
Tiffany should have been placed in Military School for all the crap she caused! Also so glad this review is back from Purgatory I missed it the first time.
Tyler Perry is the Adam Sandler of African-American cinema. Sandler brought down Sony with his shit, Perry brought down Lionsgate with his shit. Both have migrated to Netflix where they're bringing them down too.
I kind of hold Brad solely responsible for introducing me to Madea. If it hadn't been for him, I might've lived the rest of my life without ever knowing who Tyler Perry is. So thanks a lot, asshole.
as I have been forced by a friend to watch all the madea movies. This movie is the best of them as it has the least of his 'drama'. Thank you for being cynical about it. Maybe I won't be forced to watch another one where the funniest thing is me trying to knock myself out cold.
Brian said in the Midnight screening for this that for all the Tyler Perry films he has seen-which I think is all or almost all of them, especially the Madea ones- the demographic has been a handful of late thirties/early forties black couples, and a sea of white high school girls.
Nice to see Tyler Perry continuing the Tyler Perry tradition of being Tyler Perry and making Tyler Perry movies.
Your profile picture is judging me
good one
"I don't think I'm the audience for this film"
Best. Line. Ever.
Ah the tyler perry cinematic universe where all the characters are the same, no heros and madea is the only villain

At first, I read the title as "Boo: A Bad Idea"
Holds more truth than the actual title
you mean that ISN'T the title of the movie?
I can just hear Cartmen telling Token to stop giving him money.
It was a running joke from an episode of South Park. Don't take it seriously.

very underrated comment A+
Don't worry, Brad. You're the only bald RUclipsr who wears a backwards hat that we care about. 💜
Konstance Miles true story
Ok, but who plays the Snob?
badum tiss
It's such a shame that his channel, along with Phelous' channel that the don't have more subcribers.
Tommy Deonauth's Archives I wouldn't say so realistically the higher the subscription Base the more idiots you have in your audience
Fat Grandma should have her own movie.
“Fat Grandma slaps random dictators and hits on Santa Christ”.
It’s a working title.
For the role of "Dictator", can Doug reprise his M. Bison role from Kickassia?
scitechian Or at least wear that Nazi uniform he wore for that Trump joke in the Pluto Nash review.
One day Brad's gonna fake laugh so hard he's gonna give himself a hernia.
Jesus Christ, this AND Dancing' It's On in the same year? This officially is the Heroic Age of the Snob.

Jarod Farrant Then you picked the wroooooooong talentless preachy director.
Jarod Farrant Then watch the live-action Cat in the Hat movie starring Mike Meyers. Pretty scary for Halloween if you ask me!
Every time the Lloyd end bump doesn't say "And, you guessed it, I AM a little drunk," I die inside.

At least Fat Grandma would make it interesting.
Wow, you saw this in THEATERS? You deserve a medal, good sir!
I thought it was going to be Nightmare on Elm Street 3. I forgot he does 5 Halloween horror movie reviews every October. Guess it will be next week.
Will's Genre-Rama Has that been confirmed?
Well, people pointed out to me earlier this year that Brad might be waiting on the Elm Street 3 review until October. That would be appropriate since this month included other slasher franchise sequels, Halloween H20 and Jason goes to Hell. Brad wouldn't skip an Elm Street review on it's anniversary year so yeah, I think we're going to be treated to the review next week.
There's still one review left. My bets are on Wish Upon or The Annoying Audience so Unbearable The Police Had to be Called Man
I'm having a hard time watching this without feeling bad about it, please tell me i'm not the only one.
They need to do a Madea vs the clumps ...they go on Family Feud... there would be an entire cast played by two actors... Pepper in a little bit of Steve Harvey having to put up with that s*** and you got yourself a Blockbuster!
Its sad how many madea fans there are.
Brad needs to team up with Lewis and make a fat grandma movie.
Maybe after the release of "Disco."
"I have always loved those things (Madea movies). If you can both have a laugh and pray at the same time, that's a money well spent!" ~ Tom Hanks
EASTERN EUROPEAN ORPHAN Too bad there are no laughs here.
To quote Nostalgia Critic from Garbage Pail kids..."This film is physically hurting me..."
I love The Snob!! I can't believe he is reviewing Boo! Keep up the killer work!
This movie got a sequel ? Dredd 3D couldn't get a sequel but this did? FUCK!
LOVED this episode so much! Great job! :)
Fat Grandma is a far more endearing character than Madea
Russell Hunter But it has to be about Fat Grandma slapping Mussolini for Albania to show how you really turn a one off gag into a movie.
Lewis and Rob would be fighting over the fake beard, though. You couldn't have them on screen at the same time because they'd need to take turns.
No, its equally annoying. I love the Snob but all of his side characters suck (despite Loyd).
And you know what's sad? The sequel is expected to open at #1 at the box office this weekend.
I don't think even the audience for this movie was the audience for this movie.
Oh shit it's Dom from BroScienceLife! I love that dude's comedy! He should get a movie!
The weirdest appearance of Medea was probably House of Payne where she literally tries to kill the husband and everyone just shrugs it off as "Ohh Medea".
I'm waiting for "Boo! A Fat Grandma Halloween Christmas Movie"
I get the original actress who played Tiffany was too old to reprise her role but she could have got cast in another Tyler Perry movie like most of his other co stars.
Oh this will be a gem jam
This better be the closest I get to watching this
Please do the whole Madea series of movies. They are probably your funniest videos (next to miss velmas Christmas of course)
14:31 BUSHWACKED IS BACK!!!
LET'S GET WHACKING!
Oh. Its back. How lovely
1 hour 28 minute Midnight Screening, but only 21 minute Snob review?
BUSHWHACKED
SpeedyEric1 Don't waste the BUSHWHACKED stinger like that, everybody only gets two
BUSHWRECKED!
That's because Snob reviews use the magic of editing, something Boo! A Madea Halloween should have used.
Agent57000DM Be glad.
What IS the audience that keeps giving Tyler Perry money?
The Real Slim Shinnok My cousins enjoy him. They also like modern Adam Sandler , so I don't listen to their opinions on comedy
The Real Slim Shinnok that would be me. I also keep giving Michael Bay money for transformers and vin diesel money for fast and furious
Black people from the south over the age of 58 or people who watched his plays....which were leagues better because they worked better in that medium.
I was under the impression Tyler bought every ticket so people would think he's a better director and pay him more.
Brian said in the Midnight screening for this that for all the Tyler Perry films he has seen-which I think is all or almost all of them, especially the Madea ones- the demographic has been a handful of late thirties/early forties black couples, and a sea of white high school girls.
It is truly a blessed 420 seeing this ep is back on youtube
I'm still waiting for Madea the Jedi.
i was waiting all year for you to do this snob and you never disappoint
keep it up
Sees video pops up in notification feed. *hallaluejah chorus starts singing.
Holy Shit great timing, was just seeing the Madea Christmas review yesterday
The Snob could devote a whole year to Madea movies and still not cover them all.
I remember sitting through the 90(ish) minute midnight screening for this hoping that I'll never watch a single second...then you release this..
