Tide book gives you times and depths of high and low tide, what makes it a big or small tide besides the depths? Where/what gives you current speed? Very educational video! Thank you for sharing...
Only ever drifted but it makes sense that this would produce more. Do you troll with and against tides, across them or do they figure in your direction choice?
Thanks for the great tutorial! Just to be clear, are you trolling live bait or frozen bait? If frozen, Is it worth it to pay the extra price for the premium “tray bait”?
Great tutorial, thanks! What images do you look for on your sonar...bait balls, etc? Also, do you prefer incoming or outgoing tide; do you focus on tide tide change windows for best bites? Do you ever use scents? Again I appreciate your knowledgeable tips!
I'd love to try this but I've never heard of or seen anyone in Southern California using this method. can anyone here confirm if this works in SoCal, and explain why I've never heard of it or "herring" being used?
Great video on trolling for for halibut. Can't wait to put your tips to work this season. Thank you for taking the time to post the video

Small tides are best. Current speed can be gauged by fishfinder and how large/small the tides are
Very informative. Thanks ross!

Excellent video Ross!!!! Do you still troll with this method (dodger/hoochie/stinger tray bait)these days?

Is your weight bouncing bottom or just off bottom? Thanks!
Normally it’s just off the bottom
Where on line can I buy a three way splitter bar? I keep looking but -------no luck.
