  • In this video, I tried something new with my halibut rig. I'm going to have to take it out a few times and see if it produces some good quality fish. Stay tuned for updates on its performance.

    Any follow up on the sling blade vs the L Jensen

      So I have only tried one trip with them and was getting alot of hook ups but they kept getting off.. but it was a big tide that day and think it might have had alot to do with it.. I would say the 6" sling blade would have worked better that day.. but the L. Jensen still kills it.. I do need to put more time in with the bigger sling blades.. thanks for watching.. tight lines

    I think the 6” sling blade works better

    What size hoochie are you using?

    do you put an anchovy behind the hoochie? Can you just use a hoochie?

    • @ReelLifeFisherman
      @ReelLifeFisherman  4 года назад

      Yes or a herring.. thanks for watching

      You could just use a hoochie.. it would work even troll yozuris or raplas will work too.. I just seem to have the most luck with the dodger and hoochie and herring or anchovy set up..

      @@ReelLifeFisherman i have a 20 inch spreader. is that too big? If I'm trolling a lure do I need the flasher? Thanks!

    • @ReelLifeFisherman
      @ReelLifeFisherman  4 года назад

      I use smaller spreader you want the bait just off the bottom.. not if it’s a lure with its own action

      And I wouldn’t use a spreader with a lure.. just a deep diver that will be just off bottom tapping every now and again.. stay in 15’ water or less.. usually 12’ to 8’
