    Hey Thuy
    Great video, can’t wait to know what the secret bait!! I used to have the problem when using spinner spoon tangling my line, I corrected it with using 6 balls chain swivels what is used for salmon and that corrected my tangling problem. I love the Hoochie trailer I was always wonder how they kept it in one place. Going to start using that too!!! Thanks for you sharing your knowledge, hope you and your family are safe & healthy. Great video. Only difference I would make is not tying overhand knots in the leader to keep the hoochie in place. An overhand knot reduces the strength of the line by 50 percent. I would use a swivel to keep the hoochie in place. I use the slider too. Never thought of using an in-line hoochie while drifting. I do use one when trolling.

    • @Fishing247
      @Fishing247  4 года назад

      Hello Craig. Thanks for your comments. You are absolutely right about reducing the strength of the leader 50% when tie the overhand knots. I have played with knots for 30 years and understand. I used to do a swivel for the hoochie, but because I use 40 pound leader and tested it several times and the hooks usually broken before the leader. Stay safe and tight line.

    Thank you for offering to share your fishing knowledge. On your setup, I think it is critical to know the size of the red bead and the Hoochie. What is the red bead size? What length or Hoochie size? You mention that the hole on the red bead should be small, what size? I know the hole should be small enough for the double over-hand knot not to slip. I saw on-line a 8mm red bead with a 1mm hole? I check your postings, should you have already answered the questions, before I ask. Hope I haven't missed any. Looking forward for your next video!

    • @Fishing247
      @Fishing247  4 года назад

      I bought the bead at the tackle store and did not pay attention to the hole. It has to be small. You can use a swivel as a stoper of you do not have bead. I usually use 3 or 4" hoochie, mostly 3". I use 4" hoochie with a treble hook for ling cod sometimes. Hook up with my on Facebook so it is easier to communicate with you because some time I do not check the comments regularly.

    • @Fishing247
      @Fishing247  4 года назад +1

      Thanks for watching. The magic thread is a bubbery thread. It can keep your baits on the hook very well. I purchased it at the local tackle shop in San Jose. I usually use 30 pound mono leader for most of my ocean bottom fishing and in the Bay. Please let me know if you have any questions about fishing. Thank you for the amazing guidance. Do you know how to avoid the weight line and main line from tangling when trolling? I used 3 way swivel and pyramid weight.

    • @Fishing247
      @Fishing247  3 года назад +1

      Thanks for watching. One easy way to avoid tangling is to start trolling before lowering your set up down. Check your baits once in awhile. If you are experience enough you will recognize it when your leader and weight line tangled or caught with debris by looking at the rod tip actions. Good look fishing and stay safe.

    What size hook do you use for drifting halibut?

    • @Fishing247

Remember to use a stinger/treble hook near the tail of the baits because Halibuts most of the time take the tail if the baits. 90% I caught Halibuts on trailer tremble hook. Tight line..
