  • In this video Captain Steve from ‪@DeadliestKastFishing‬ joins me on the San Francisco Bay in search of halibut. Steve has fished these waters professionally as a captain of his own boat for many years. We opted not to use live bait, instead I wanted to try Steve's custom made halibut rigs so that meant we needed to troll. It was a slow bite, we tried many spots in the San Francisco Bay. We finally landed a nice one at the end of the day. Once we get into April and there are more fish around I am sure this trolling rig will light them up. In the meantime it was great to just get one.

1 lb weight surprises me. Even in the shallower parts of the Bay I have a tough time staying on bottom with that little weight. Maybe my preferred dodger (Jensen 3/0 brass chrome) is pulling my line out more..?

1 lb Bounce ball rig with a flasher to a hoochie to a bait with a trap hook rubber banneded near tail. Plus lots of fuel and a down payment on a muerta guage. Fiya bun commercial adds and fishing.

Pretty different from fishing up here in AK, often trolling for salmon 90-150 feet down and big halibut 400+ feet. Looks fun

@@ChrisPfish2 I didn’t really get a chance to use it properly, I was on a party boat and trolling is not conducive to my style camera. When I got in my own little boat, I’ll have time to play with it ore and figure out how to best use it. It is a corded camera with real-time viewing and dvr to record if wanted.
On a side note, I got me a nice halibut and 2 keeper stripers yesterday :) we fished Pinole point in San Pablo bay on the lovely martha
