    Ninja Nerds!
During this lecture Professor Zach Murphy will lecture on cholinergic receptors and the organs they will target when stimulated by Acetylcholine (ACh). Cholinergic receptors fall under two different categories including muscarinic receptors, and nicotinic receptors. This video will continue to build upon concepts learned during the parasympathetic nervous system lecture. Please watch the parasympathetic lecture in order to understand the concepts presented during this video. Please refer to the relevant lectures below. if i finish med school and become a doc, you wil be the sole reason of it. words can not describe how grateful i am to have this channel. thank you thank you thank you

    • @VoidHalo

I've always struggled with the issue of words being inadequate to express my gratitude. I learned that sometimes, there are no words and only actions can appropriately express said gratitude. In this case, specifically, if all goes well and you become a doctor, I think the best thanks would be to let him know directly somehow. Maybe a DM, email or find some way to let him know that you made it, and let him know how helpful these videos were in getting you to that goal. I could think of no greater thanks in this case. And this way you can be sure he will see the message. Even if he doesn't reply.
Best of luck to you in your endeavours. I don't know you, but I sincerely hope you can realize your goal of becoming a doctor, despite the difficulties you've implied. You owe it to yourself to succeeed. You deserve it.

Great job! I just finished paramedic school and a lot of our medications we give work on the adrenergic and cholinergic and all they taught was basically what the med did (+HR, -HR, etc) but not how it actually works on the receptors and effects the action potential nor how it effected so many of the other organs. Atropine for example we give for symptomatic bradycardia but never told us why it speeds up the heart but now I understand that being an anticholinergic why/how it speeds up the heart. Same with the side effects like blurred vision, reduced salvation, etc. Knowing the why and how I don't have to remember every side effect because I know how the drug effect the other organ systems. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Thanks for that. I only have high school biology and a bit of casual reading in general.
I found your explanations clear and easy to follow, to the extent that my limitations allow.
I've been trying to work on a hypothesis that my symptoms are from an excess of acetylcholine - either producing too much of it, or too little acetylcholinesterase.
I hadn't yet made a connection of the onset of acidosis with the onset of other symptoms, and it had been a mystery. I also gave myself metal poisoning consuming 2.5 times recommended daily dose for several years.(zero star review for that roller-coaster).
