Ninja Nerds!
During this lecture Professor Zach Murphy will lecture on cholinergic receptors and the organs they will target when stimulated by Acetylcholine (ACh). Cholinergic receptors fall under two different categories including muscarinic receptors, and nicotinic receptors. This video will continue to build upon concepts learned during the parasympathetic nervous system lecture. Please watch the parasympathetic lecture in order to understand the concepts presented during this video. Please refer to the relevant lectures below. if i finish med school and become a doc, you wil be the sole reason of it. words can not describe how grateful i am to have this channel. thank you thank you thank you
I've always struggled with the issue of words being inadequate to express my gratitude. I learned that sometimes, there are no words and only actions can appropriately express said gratitude. In this case, specifically, if all goes well and you become a doctor, I think the best thanks would be to let him know directly somehow. Maybe a DM, email or find some way to let him know that you made it, and let him know how helpful these videos were in getting you to that goal. I could think of no greater thanks in this case. And this way you can be sure he will see the message. Even if he doesn't reply.
Best of luck to you in your endeavours. I don't know you, but I sincerely hope you can realize your goal of becoming a doctor, despite the difficulties you've implied. You owe it to yourself to succeeed. You deserve it.
He just do not skip a step , every step has a explanation. Very lucky to learn from you sir . Love from India ,thank you so much. 🙏🏽 🇮🇳
Thank you so much! And please never apologize for making a long video! It just means you were super thorough, complainers can just skim through and do sub-part learning. You're great thank you for spending the time to make these videos :)

This dude is the most gangster man in the world God bless his heart and soul I gladly dedicate the time to watch his hour long video before re-watching my required school lecture. It takes more time yes but at the same time I can't afford not to use this resource. I'm going to donate.
The way you sometimes trail off a bit shows how much knowledge is crammed into your head. Great job man
Mentioning a few drugs acting at each point would make a difference
It's not humanly possible to teach such a subject in a shorter video...thank you so so so much
You really helped my PSNS, i can finally rest sleep better. Thank you sir. You are the GOAT
OMG I never regret spending time watching your videos guys!!! really I love the way you integrate so I can see the hole picture and understand!!!! THANKS!!!
That's true LEARNING. To understand the WHOLE Picture.
You just saved my life. After testing positive several years ago for smooth muscle antibodies, and having that lead to a diagnosis of a possible autoimmune disorder, I now have answers. I have/had every symptom you listed on the M3 receptor. Thank-you.
No need for apologising for length of video Ninja Nerd - the nature of the subject demands this length !! Thank you again - for your great video on those receptors. Cheers
God bless this man .I have improved my grades just by watching his tutorials over and over again
this video saved my life - my lecturer expected us to teach this to ourselves this term! thank god this video exists
I love the detail and the length of the video! I have a complete understanding now! Thank you for not leaving anything out! Yay ninja nerds!
Dear Zach you are God sent mate! I am praying for you and your family so your practice will grow, Ninja Nerd will grow in this difficult time. On your free time you help millions of people with this lectures. Thank you man!
not all heroes wear capes !

pharmacy student here!!!! THANK YOU!!!!! YOU ARE AMAZING
medical students are blessed to have you. Professor. there's a saying about subjects,"students dont love a subject or books. it is a teacher who represent it in a way. and make it loveable. Great Great work
you are helping students worldwide. Here a big "thank you" from Germany.
YOU'RE AMAZING!!! your love for science is CONTAGIOUS!
Your videos are mich better than sitting in class listening to a teacher , May God keep blessing you with that talent of explaining what you know well .🙏
Dude that was a great video, thanks I literally have been studying for my pharmacolgy test and everything felt so scattered. I knew there were relationships and similarities that group certain parts together but I just couldn’t connect the dots. After watching your vid I definitely feel more confindent of the material! YOURE DOING GODS WORK LOL
Bro...where have you been in my life the past year? THIS is the type of video I've been looking for. Thank you so much. If you were in my town, I'd buy you a few rounds.
you are my favorite teacher , you truly have a gift for explaining please never stop I don't care if they are two hours its totally worth understanding everything at the end
You are my med school savior. With COVID and all this being online, you are saving my life and hopefully grades
You have never disappointed in any of your video... much love from Nigeria 🇳🇬❤️
The international community should protect Zach. He is an invaluable medical resource. His understanding of medical facts is helping lots of medics across the globe.
Of all the channels on RUclips, you explain the process right down to the element. Very helpful so thanks.
Your style, your illustrations & your vibes for for what u do, makes it so easy and interesting to assimilate. I must say: you're Blessing to the world! You're good a Teacher! Much love from Africa, I mean Nigeria. Keep the spirit burning!
I don't know about others but I visit this channel specifically because it is lenghty and substancous. I'll always love Ninja nerds and thanks for educating me and many others and helping me in my med school.
He is a hero! For doing this explaining for free makes him hero why? Because we are students and barely paying our school fees, trying to survive everyday and to get knowledge as possible as we can while we can't afford extra subscription and he is right there. May God bless you!!
Great job! I just finished paramedic school and a lot of our medications we give work on the adrenergic and cholinergic and all they taught was basically what the med did (+HR, -HR, etc) but not how it actually works on the receptors and effects the action potential nor how it effected so many of the other organs. Atropine for example we give for symptomatic bradycardia but never told us why it speeds up the heart but now I understand that being an anticholinergic why/how it speeds up the heart. Same with the side effects like blurred vision, reduced salvation, etc. Knowing the why and how I don't have to remember every side effect because I know how the drug effect the other organ systems. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
Thank you soooooo much for being so thorough. I never read my chapters before seeing how you explain the topics. It makes more sense when I go back to read my assignments. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
You are amazing, just wanted to say I sat through the whole thing and made notes...it's that good. Good job and keep it coming, we really appreciate it! - coming from a nurse anesthesia student :)
It's amazing.....I prefer your lectures instead of the ones given in my med school....You teach in such a great detail and make even the toughest concepts seem like a piece of cake!!!
Thanks , because u put a lot of efforts for making this lecture and others . giving helping hands to others is a unique sacrifice . keep up Ninja Nerd and have a great future and might God guide u to his rightpath
You removed my fear of pharmacology !! Thank you so much sir you make every topic so interesting . Kudos to you .
I always keep saying how awesome you are during the whole video. When I study it´s all a jumbled mess, but with your videos, the puzzle is SOLVED and it makes sense!!
This has helped me understand pharm 100% better. Thank you.
Enjoyed it?? Simply loved it!!!! Thank you, thank you so much professor Zach for making our lives easier.
All I can say is STAY BLESSED❤
Thank you for this! Every other video about this was along the lines of "acetylcholine receptors in 2 minutes" or similar overly condensed pseudoeducational content.
You are a true asset to our organization.
You know watching your video gives me understanding from the stuff i learn in class, because most of the time our teachers don't really hit that understandin g point in our brain.Love you man,加油
I'm so glad I'm a medical student because I've always been dreaming to have a good teacher that explains what i wanted to be explained for me
I can’t stop to admire your mind brain. Grateful for your existence and generosity.
Thanks sooo much sir
You made this nicotinic receptor easy to understand may God bless you

Hey you're so an amazing teacher! I'm a French student with a small level in English and you know what? I understood these notions better than in some lessons in French class lol

Thank you so much! And please never apologize for making a long video.
thank you so much, yes your videos long but there is not anything on them unnecessarily. Your videos really comprehensible, detailed, educatory and worthwhile. Thank for sharing your amazing information background!
I truly enjoyed watching how you describe complex materials so understandably and smoothly.
Thanks for that. I only have high school biology and a bit of casual reading in general.
I found your explanations clear and easy to follow, to the extent that my limitations allow.
I've been trying to work on a hypothesis that my symptoms are from an excess of acetylcholine - either producing too much of it, or too little acetylcholinesterase.
I hadn't yet made a connection of the onset of acidosis with the onset of other symptoms, and it had been a mystery. I also gave myself metal poisoning consuming 2.5 times recommended daily dose for several years.(zero star review for that roller-coaster).
Thank you soo much for all these great videos @NinjaNerdScience, God bless you & your team
at 39:57 you mentioned if AV node muscarinic receptors are activated it's called (- bathmotropic effect)
but I think the right name is (- dromotropic effect)
You guys are a God send! Fantastic presentation and super packed with info. Can't thank you enough!!
With you, I fell in love with medicine again after fifteen years away from studying🙏🙏
Man...dope, looking forward to watching the Dopaminergic one, you are an absolute legend for us who have no specific degree in the subject and struggle to understand how these things work. Thanks, man.
Thanks. Been studying for about a year now. Its slowly coming together

despite the sheer amount of enthusiam that youtubers show, I've not often come across someone who seems to genuinly enjoy teaching as much as you do. I felt like you were explaining it to me personally and I took NOTES DAMMIT!! NOTES!!
