I had a hard time understanding the process of synthesis and metabolism but this guy saved my life. Clear, easy and fun. Best educational video. Please stay in the educational field. Also, gentle people? you're amazing.
my mind is blown. As a student from India I thank you for explaining these concepts so elegantly. Our current education system is corrupted as the intent is not about understanding but memorizing large words due to the pressure of scoring grades. We have so much to learn from how the way you teach
You are the definition of a high quality teacher. I hope to be able to teach students the way you do. Please never stop making videos you’re a blessing. Currently a resident doctor in the UK and these videos are helping me with my training.🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Thank you sir, you have made Pharmacology much more easier and understandable. I watched your videos before an exam and i got 95%!!!!!!!!! You're GREAT
This is so crucial for people with MTHFR / Methylation issues (which are often downplayed as "quackery") because without proper synthesis of choline from phosphatidylcholine, there will always be a lack of choline to support ACh synthesis. I have C677T ++ but also an impaired PEMT gene, and whilst MTHFR led me down a path of "Methylfolate is everything" I came to realise that Choline support is huge - especially in my case. So it would appear for me that taking Alpha GPC would bypass the impaired PEMT gene and better support my ACh synthesis, as choline supplements apparently do not cross the BBB as well and phosphatidylcholine requires synthesis (via PEMT) so that's also a no-go (stuck coins in your gumball machine - or rather, lack of coins to begin with! 🤣) I've only been studying this for 8 months with no medical/scientific background, but have so far "cured" my migraines (not 1 after suffering daily for 20yrs) and am now focusing on ADD/ADHD. Great video.
Excessive accumulation of acetylcholine (ACh) at the neuromuscular junctions and synapses causes symptoms of both muscarinic and nicotinic toxicity. These include cramps, increased salivation, lacrimation, muscular weakness, paralysis, muscular fasciculation, diarrhea, and blurry vision👍
Thanks for your comment ... i am kicking myself that i did not include the mnemonic DUMBBELSS that i usually use to describe symptoms of AChE inhibitor poisoning: Diarrhea, Urination, Miosis, Bronchospasm, Bradycardia, Excitation of muscle and CNS, Lacrimation, Salivation and Sweating.
Several of these symptoms include excess fluid/mucous production therefore I am guessing that a runny nose might also be a symptom. What about sensitivity to light, is that a symptom?
There are drugs that block acetylcholine to stop sweating. But I wonder if this affects on building muscle & performance. I noticed my muscles have gotten weaker since taking an anticholinergic. Is there a point to even trying to build muscle when acetylcholine is blocked?
It does not cure the hyperhydrosis because the body eventually creates more SNARE protein complexes so the nerves release ACh again ... maybe 4-6 months. Then another injection would be recommended.
I was on a low dose anti-cholinergic anti-depressant called clomipramine for 4 years. Now I am off it...to what extent has it negatively impacted my memory...will my memory rebound?
Hi, i got a question, by the way excellent videos, Acetyl CoA can go outside the mitochondria directly or it must be converted to citrate first and then can go out of the mitochondria?
Really informative, started to take Alpha-GPC and wanted to know what the hell is Acetylcholine. Don't think any other channel would have explained it so well and interesting.

Dr. Morton is a genius in his explanations!
What a teacher! the best so far. made it very simple and objective. congrats!
Very beautifully explained and demonstrated. Just love it.

Thank you very much!
He's back!!!! We've missed you! Hope you and your loved ones are safe! Will always cheer for your amazing work!
Thank-you :)
Mr Handy Anatomist, your lectures are enjoyable and you make them easy to understand, thanks
Am a student from Uganda,I like uo presentation, they are soo touching and easily understandable
a 2 hour lecture is explanied in14 mins thx a lot doc
This simplified this concept so well! I’m glad I found this video. Great job teaching!
Glad it was helpful!
The GOAT of all medical related ACh videos
This one video taught me more than a 2-hour lecture about ACh.
oh you just ease me of my stress, thank you so much and God bless you
voice is very similar to Sal Khan, I thought it was him for a sec haha. Thank you Dr. Morton for your videos. Helps a lot.
yes I was adamant that it was Sal from Khan academy!!!!!!!!!!
This video has made my concept crystal clear. thanks!
One of concept based teaching 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you
It's my pleasure
Wow, you summarized three lecture for me ,amazing. I don’t believe it.
Best video abt cholinergic avlbl on yt 👍👌👌
Thank you so much for this wonderful explanation of such complicated topic!!!
Great Emma reference! Thank you for this - I've been struggling to understand for my anatomy class and this has clarified a lot for me. Well done!
The clinical correlates are very helpful
Hope you cover all never systems physiologically on the pharmacologically aspect

Your videos are fantastic! Really helping me to consolidate the info for my psychopharmacology course! Thank you!
Amazing! Fantastic! Incredible! Astonishing! Mighty! Better than most of Marvel's superhero movies!
you are going to rock the field of pharmacology too.
Thnkuhhhhj ❤❤❤❤❤ plz aur topic per bhi bnaye ... Its really worked
Can I just send my college tuition money to you? I learned more from this video than I did my professor.
Haha 🤣
This helped me so much! Great discussion
Uploaded this just in time for my muscles course. Thank you it helped so much
Happy to help!
Great presentation! Thank you
Superb presentation! Thank you!
Thank you too!
Very well explained cleared all my doubts actually I didn't actually got a chance to have one👏🏻
Omg this is simplified, thank you
Finally legend is back😁
This helped me so much. Thanks a lot❤❤
It helps me alot thank the noted anatomist keep it up
The noted anatomist! 😍
Thanks Leo!
How I understood this as compared to what I was taught by my prof
Thank you sir
Thanks doctor
❤❤
Very great
You make really good videos keep it up
I appreciate it!
love your lectures!

supposedly it would make moving your eyes harder, right?

What are the symptoms of low ACh
@@jimmythedog2882 look into autonomic dysfunctional illnesses, like POTS.
Several of these symptoms include excess fluid/mucous production therefore I am guessing that a runny nose might also be a symptom. What about sensitivity to light, is that a symptom?
Thank you so much this was so helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Great explanation!! Super helpful 😃
Thank you Dr Morton!
You're most welcome!
Missed your videos sir.
can you please do pharmacology-based videos glad I found your channel ❤
Just what I needed.. Thanks a bunch.
Excellent lecture 👌
Thanks a lot
Amazing! 👏

you are best.may allah gives you more and more
Wow! Just wow! 👏
I love you Man❤️
amazing video. THANK YOU
Organophosphates are insecticides, not fertilizers. They have a similar effect on insects to that of nerve gas on humans.
THANK YOU!!!!
thank you
awesome sir
I mean all respects for Walter white but YOUR THE DANGER 😂🔥
thank you ❤
Please can acetylcholine be extracted from the neuron or nerve fibre of an animal when they are synthesized?
Shiii...ng 😊
Thumbs up my friends 😇😅

Where can i learn these things?
Beautiful!!!❤
Thank you! 😊
so helpful👍
I want the pdf or PowerPoint and thank you so much 😊
Does botox completely cure hyperhydrosis
It does not cure the hyperhydrosis because the body eventually creates more SNARE protein complexes so the nerves release ACh again ... maybe 4-6 months. Then another injection would be recommended.
@@TheNotedAnatomist oh men i wish it did but anyway love your explanation keep up the good work.
