Can't wait to get back Newcastle, after all of this lock down so I can see me friends and family 😁
Thanks 😦
I get the metro Gateshead to Tyne Dock every weekday at 07:25. I always grab the seat right at the front whenever it's available (it usually is).
At 07:20 every morning, the Airport metro pulls into platform 2 at Gateshead with passengers packed into it like sardines; it is always crammed full.
Yes, always packed at rush hour and on Saturday mornings. I don't know why the trains are so short. There are always two 'double carriages' although some of the platforms could easily take much longer trains. Some of the original stations would have to be extended though.
Brian Morrison The trains are so infrequent, if they ran every 2 minutes there would be far more capacity
I always love your videos man. Great job every time.
I appreciate the comment! Thank you
I stayed in West Monskeaton2008,09,10 , done many trips on the Metro, Hello from N Z
Never knew Newcastle has a Metro system. And I was born and bred in this country!
yes and a little seaside town called South Shields
Very nicely done. I live in Newcastle and I love the Metro thanks for the upload
Travelcycle Vlog how much is the metro ticket prices, I live in London and London Underground for under 16s is £0.75p
@@techreviewer in Manchester a tram ride is already 4 pounds for 16-18 year old
@@BLACKSTA361 £4?! Is it unlimited journeys or for a few stops?
@@techreviewer unlimited but its only a single ticket tho so no day rider or return ticket but Manchester hasn't got zones so it doesn't matter
@@techreviewer i'm new in Manchester from berlin and in berlin a undergroud overground tram and bus dayrider only costs 5€😂
I like your video
Hm Lived in this country 13 years just found out there's another metro other than London underground. Who knew.
Sye same here
Sye and liverpools city centre underground
Sye Metros in the U.K. : London Underground, Tyne and Wear Metro and Glasgow Subway.
was after 17 years that I found out. Small world right?
London Underground isn’t a metro it’s a tube
Also there’s one in Glasgow
I love the 1500 Volt DC Overhead wire system
timosha21, good job! :) :)
I moved from Gateshead last year, I loved the metro. Used to like going to Tynemouth, spending some time at the beach, then getting the ferry from North to South Shields.
It deserves way more funding, the rolling stock is far too old.
The rolling stock is getting replaced in a few years I think.
I went on this yesterday for the 1st time in my life I got a Daysaver zone A for £3
Two zones is £4.10 (Day Saver)
All Three is £5.10 (Day saver)
A single is £1.50
It was A Good service
A lot of the cars sound like they need a trip to the wheel lathe workshop.
I miss fighting a child for the front seat.
They got this idea back home the US St Louis Metrolink where I came from
alô vitória terra da caninha boa
Which is quicker. South Gosforth to Ilford Road or Sunderland to Park Lane
Bob Poobrain the 2nd one
I’ve been on the Metro before
Carriages called comfortable for a trip?
Connor Watson they are designing new metro cars for 2020
Leather would be sweaty
Near old cinema one....bridge
shame you missed South Shields and Sunderland
It goes to sunderland
Many people have been trying hard feelings meto ro
I just moved from berlin to Manchester and wondering why hasn't Manchester got subway they are a big city
It has trams instead ^_^
@@jlroyale4306 Trams aren't enough to serve a city as big as Manchester, especially when it's the bare minimum tram service to begin with.
I'm a metro driver
Do a better job then
@matthew Well, thats rude
TheGamingBloke i agree
You're a lucky person, how did you get into the job of driving the metro?
is it a great job? I've always wanted to operate/drive a train
They look Similar to the London underground
L'excuse moi?
Love meto good me ok
Place looks to clean to be England.
It's not really a metro but a tram.
Lewis Smiles it's an underground tram lol
It got the same Metro standard as in Barcelona. Many Spanish cities does have overhead also. So it is a metro but not with third rail etc
It's technically light rail
Lewis Smiles that's not a definition of a tram, many trams in EU go underground to avoid traffic in busy areas and it's not a metro it's a tram in a tunnel
It’s not a tram, it’s a train.

Who in their right mind came up with such a drab livery, the Manchester metrolink and Merseyrail are not much better either.
im guessing you dont like black/grey and yellow
Actually the metro is one of the U.K.s most visible brands
It used to be a lovely cream and yellow, followed by yellow and eather red or green. These days it is the crappy grey and yellow, because NEXUS have it in there heads that they are similar to TfL

How dare you, yellow is my favourite colour and I'm disappointed with Transpennine express for not having it at the front of their new trains!
Wrong wansbeck is 1 min so it is the fastest
I don't get the comment :/
MR TRUCULENT SAYS !!!! They should have kept the original name "RAPIT TRANSIT! and the old logo similar to a British Rail symbol like the woman who won the award in the "Shields Gazette" We are not French.
Tyne and Wear is the cheapest Metro system I've ever been on. Almost every station has no ticket barriers so every journey is FREE! No wonder it makes no money and has asked Central Government for funding. INSALL TICKET BARRIERS!
Well it's hardly a metro, it's Morrison's trams in tunnels. Pretending to be metro
