few data *for people wondering about speed:*
KR AGILUS has rotation speed from *225 to 480 degrees per second* , with operational payolad (3kg). In this case, with less load, i can go even faster. The main big Axes, A2 and A3, have 225. Given the dimensions of the arms (roughly 50cm) with roughly 50degrees of movement it can go 50cm of distance. so it needs moves its head horizontaly appx. *50cm in 0.2sec.* its main rotation is 300dg/s so with spread arm it can move roughly *100cm in 0.2sec.*
combine to that the speed of A5 (300d/s) or even the *485d/s rotational axes* and you have ultra fast motion in small movements.
*Accuracy* in positioning (repeatability) *is 0.03mm.*
All the above are very rough approximation based on rotation values and geometry of the machine. Load and mainly programming (ac/deccelerations etc, motionpaths) will affect much these values.

All this robots now lack of specially calibration are usless unless they implement AI to compensate in time unpredicted malfunctions. Japan people know that by opening competition for avatars.

I remember first seeing this when I was on my high school robotics team and loving this commercial. Completely forgot about this until it popped back into my recommended. Funny, I work with fanucs arms every day now.

But u have to consider that robots can work faster than humans no problem, they also don't get tired. They can also think many times quicker than humans, so it's a fair trade if I do say so myself.

the robot in this clip was programmed to perform the actions you see in the clip. The speed and precision are real. Of course we did some polishing on sound and picture, which is normal for a high end video. We hope you share our excitement over the many skills of both our KR AGILUS and Timo Boll.

thanks for answering my comment. I have absolutely no doubt, that the shown actions of the KR Agilus are real and not a fake.
But still I have doubts about Timo Skills regarding the glass sounds. This take usually years of practice.
And this is my actual point of view: The whole idea (including last years version) is brilliant.
It is just the execution that I really do not like. IMHO it would have been much smarter to create either a _real_ live event, or integrate the Kuka community in the creation of this clip (simple votings, e.g.: what should be the next challenge?) - or even combine both aspects.
Then you would have had the chance to reach more people, because a much more better shareable content could have been produced.
Again: The precision and accuracy are amazing. I just do not like the presentation style.
And: De gustibus non est disputandum!

there should be a making of video. with this video it is just hard to say what is real and what is a special effect. at least its hard to believe that Timo really made those glasses explode, or that the Agilus had no motor noise.

1:36 i call bullshit on that, do have plenty of Kuka robots at work that i do operate them and i never seen them move that fast on 100%. I'm no expert on them but i know my around them and that doesn't feel right.
