These are self balancing robots, doing a far more complex version of what a Segway does to stay upright when driven, when the robots make moves as commanded.
This video is absolutely real but I can see why it messes with people's minds. What makes you think it might be CGI is the fact that robots in essence think like animation. That is to say, their movements are programmed the same way a 3d model is. So this creates that uncanny feeling in your subconscious because you know that's not how people or animals move. Its subtle but its there. As to why there's no way this is CGI. Well, that's simple. Looking at the reflection, lighting and changes in the carpet, this is waaaaaay above what CGI does nowadays. If BD had invented CGI algorithms good enough to do this, they wouldn't be simulating robots, they'd be selling THAT, and making bank like crazy. And yes, BD does sell software so its not like it'd be a new product for them.

AI today may not be as advanced as say HAL 9000, but AI is smart enough to interpret human speech and can even remotely operate household appliances. Medicine has also made great strides for the last half century. In my opinion I'd take better medicine and medical tech over flying cars any day, but maybe that's just me.
Well were extremely lucky we didnt have to rely on you to make it happen otherwise it may never have happened at all lol jk jk brother no offense lol but yeah im with ya things i thought of as a kid seem like they should be possible now but its almost like most time and effort and resources go mostly to our phones and not as much going on in other areas of future tech but i guess im kinda wrong ... I was just thinking, imagine showing this to The Contours back around the time they released the song. Not only is the song still going to be around in 60 years, but there's going to be robots dancing to it. It'd sound like something straight out of the Jetsons.

this video fucks with my mind it draws the line between what i believe is real and what i believe is CGI

I don't think a whole lot of people are appreciating how ridiculously impressive this engineering is.

Because dancing takes lots of balance, timing, fine motor control, and physical strength.
