Hey! So we both have OG Reds from the first batches. Ours ticked over 40k miles recently and had its larger biennenial service. That cost about £220 so very reasonable considering. The garage managed to fix the common rear wash issue where the pipe, also hard to reach, becomes disconnected. They said they'd be able to fix the now dead breathing lamp. The flap latch itself is still operable on mine but doesn't feel quite solid. The o/s wing mirror doesn't retract in the cold, another common and I've read it may be an inherited issue via the Yeti and VAG parts bin. Lower two bars on the rear windscreen heater have gone, that may have been the dog or getting it tinted. Tyres are all original. Fronts will need replacing so on. Rears have plenty, so will need replacement from age-related cracking rather than wear. What tyres to get next? EGP2? Haven't checked the rust! Paint work isn't pretty good still though there's a small flake that's come away on a wing,so touch up paint ready to be applied. May get a single stage and coating done, perhaps Lano underneath? SOH is 88.71% via OVMS. I rapid a couple or three times per year. Can't help but think that the algorithm is age and mileage related only. Seats and drive selector are OK. It's made a great school run car, which is up to 50 miles per day 😮

@@FalkinerTim Yeah I use those tablets that make washer fluid (I bought 6 packs of 10 tablets for £1 each a couple years ago!). I chuck two tablets in winter. Appreciate it! Whole point of these videos was to outline every 10k miles what's it like. There's been a quite a big problem obviously, but sorted under warranty. The other is general cost of running which is something that is always an issue on RUclips.
Normal wear and tear! I like to use seat covers, which are washable, and will protect your seats. Good plug for Levis though! 😎The loose charging flap is disappointing although, as long as it doesn't rattle as you drive, it can be tolerated.
I agree that some things are normal, but I was hoping my seats to last longer than 60k and 4 years. Oh well, at least I know of a decent breakers yard! Charging flap may be fixable, again may be a visit to a breakers yard
That’s a common problem in Sweden during wintertime with temperatures around -20 Celsius. You need to grease up the pin with lithium grease, then it will pop back and work as usual
Good to hear I have been looking to get same make / model as you have seen a few with between 16k - 20k miles wasn’t sure if this was high in EV world or not, this video is reassuring.

My 2020 has just passed 46000miles at 3.5 years and 94.3% battery health (EZS APP). Just before Christmas it started to fail latching the charge flap like yours. Have you had yours checked out yet? I presume its the latch lock thats slightly pushed off on the other side of the base. But i cant see how to get to it.
My car will be going for it's 60k service (better late than never), so I'll get the dealer to check it out - if not, I'll do some digging on another video!
Hi KC, Please at 86 % SOH, how has that affected your driving range? As a former Nissan leaf MK1 owner and now Zs ev MK1 owner I am a bit worried at that number. This car has water cooled battery. My leaf was 11years old when I traded it in and SOH was 82%.
Anecdotally, I haven't noticed any decrease in range. I have yet to test this in a similar fashion to my other range tests. There have been mumblings that the SOH decrease may not actually have any basis in capacity, but in a very odd calculation that uses calendar age to measure accordingly. I'm sure it has degraded some amount in the nearly 5 years and 70k miles but it is possible that the BMS has hidden this, hence although the SOH is 86% the actual range loss is minimal. What was your mileage in your Leaf?

Its might be possible that the SOH might not affect the range, although I am not 100% sure about that but from what I am getting from my Zs MK1 ,My21 @37000 km (SOH 92.84) fully charged Eco is 320km and 274/75 on Normal mode before losses during driving. (G.o.m). I don't regret owning the car over the Leaf ,just concerned that SOH drop quickly.
I am somewhat disappointed, but as I said on paper, I'm not noticing any loss in actual range on my day to day driving. It's very odd! I need to take some time again to run a similar range test, and try and maintain similar conditions too. My suggestion would be to drive it till it's very low on battery, charge to full and balance the cells. Then, OBD2 scanner with the app to read SOH. I'm quite impressed from your LEAF though, 82% SOH after 11 years is excellent!
@@KCTalksEV Yes I did that, I drove the car to a low SOC, charged to full and reset all the trip meters before checking SOC. I bought the car at the end of may. The SOC was 93.74% at 3200km. The problem with the MG ZS battery from what I had observed is that, the cars were sitting at factories/ shipyards for long periods of time which is bad for batteries. My car for instance was manufactured in October 2020 but was first registered in mid June 2021. I have seen this trend with many registered here in Sweden. The pandemic was probably the reason why they weren't sold. These cars were sitting in dealership most of whom doesn't know much about EVs, my car for instance was sitting at the dealership at a high state of charge for over a month before I bought it. This kind of practices degrade batteries. I will to keep the battery in good condition to preserve the life as much as I can. I charge slowly at home 97% of the time, try to keep charge and discharge between 80 and 40 % as my daily commute is only 64km. Of course I charge to full when needed and I balance/calibrate the battery once a month as recommended. Overall I am happy with the car. Yes, leaving the with high SOC % for a very long period of time is not great. Hopefully though the degradation will have stopped by then, and (as it should) level off :) Also, thanks for watching the videos, hopefully more coming soon (including a battery degradation range test ;) )

@@KCTalksEV It may be wise to make sure you use plenty of detergent in the washer. Detergent stops the windscreen washer fluid from freezing.
