Sayid was under appreciated in lost . He was smarter than basically everyone . He could read everyone so easily . He knew Michael was leading them into a trap in season 2 when being taken to the others . He knew Ben was an other . He even had the balls to lie to the man in black in season 6 and say he killed desmond when he didn’t . And let’s not forget he died trying to save everyone . Had a huge heart and cared about everyone

You can tell how much Charlie's death affected everyone by the way they look and the mood at the camp. Saddest and most unnecessary death on Lost.
THIS is how you handle the death of a season 1 character. Stories like these have characters going though the most meaningful events of their lives together. Losing someone that important SHOULD have a huge impact.
The part that they touched me is how broke Hurley was and Charlie and Desmond never got along that well but Charlie was the one who told Desmond Penny wasn’t on the boat (I’ve watched all Seasons and all episodes)

He locked himself because of Desmond's flash, that if he died there, Claire and Aaron would be rescued in a helicopter. I guess he just saw Aaron but not Kate in the helicopter, so he assumed it was Claire.

But then I see a scene like this, and I know it couldn't be that hard to pull off, because their facial expressions during this part matched exactly how I felt watching it. A lot of tough losses on this show, but Charlie... That one hit me the hardest. I'll see you in another life brother.

Rewatching the series. In the pilot episode, when they find the front of the plane and are looking for the transceiver, Jack asks Kate, "Where's Charlie?" This series is phenomenal.

I still can't figure out which reaction hits me the hardest. Okay Hurley is obvious but Sawyer and Saied really pulled it off. 'ya I'm a badass but I can still get gut punched' resonates with me a lot because I keep my emotions under control but Charlie dying really put it to the test for those two.
Hugo is the only character in the entire series who never stopped being who he was, never stopped doing what was right or left his friends behind. This scene becomes sadder because it was right after he for a moment thought he had been saved and everyone on the island would be rescued.
