  • For the past 2 years, our semi-nomadic family has been traveling the world in first-class luxury and the primary program that has made it possible is Inspirato Pass. If you've been watching our content for more than a week, you probably already know that. But this episode covers the often-requested topic of showing the exact process we go through to actually choose and book trips with Inspirato Pass.
Inspirato-a public company as of 2022-is a luxury travel subscription program. It’s a more modern, flexible and affordable evolution of the legacy membership club models from other luxury travel clubs.
Unlike those, though, Inspirato owns no real estate. Instead, they specialize in long-term leases with hundreds of multi-million dollar homes, celebrity-frequented resorts, high-end hotel operators, and other posh experience/adventure organizations around the globe. People like us can join Inspirato to:
Stay at any of those properties for discounted nightly rates
Book curated, luxury safaris, cruises, and other experiences for competitive prices
And/or pay a flat $2500/month to enjoy high-frequency stays within the Inspirato portfolio without paying any additional fees for those stays.
That last component-the flat monthly fee option-is the Inspirato Pass program. But in all 3 scenarios, members also get Inspirato’s premium trip planning and local concierge services that are absolutely off-the-charts valuable-without paying any extra. Don’t think of that part as a travel agent; it’s actually a lot more like having a dedicated concierge with an American Express Black Card. There are a ton of additional programs and benefits included with Inspirato membership, but this part is just a quick overview so we’re not going to dive into those at this point.
Learn more about how we stay in multi-million dollar homes around the world for a low, flat monthly subscription and no nightly rates, taxes, or hidden fees. followabc.com/pass

    ABOUT US.
We’re the Lockwoods: a family with 3 kids, 5 careers, and endless passion for adventure. Two years ago, we decided it was time for Phil's ad agency to abandon the in-person, 5-day workweek. So they 86’d the office and work hours, allowing our own family to start traveling almost constantly. We now work, school, and explore in a different place every week-from our own mountain and beach homes to exotic villas, resorts, and yachts around the world. As we experience and support diverse cultures, we hope to inspire more families to design a life of freedom and adventure.
Because there’s a new American Dream. It’s one that’s void of templated expectations, templated career paths, templated education, templated families, templated homes, and templated lives. Freedom is no longer an American tagline-it’s just the new, global way of life.
Every day that you spend doing something that doesn’t fulfill you to your core, you’re living your life on pause. You’re deferring genuine family time with no guarantee that there will be a tomorrow or a someday. Some people follow that mentality their entire lives. We’ve chosen to never live that way again.
We appreciate you following our journey. The more our channel grows, the more time we can spend traveling to more locations, contributing to these cultures, highlighting local businesses, and sharing inspiring stories from these communities. So please consider liking, commenting, and subscribing so that you can stick with us for the long haul.

Love the little girl hugging the trip concierge... great video... we joined Inspirato in the fall of 2019. we actually chickened out a few days later and canceled... but I was amazed at the endless options they had. The amount of time and effort that must have gone into creating that club ... We were most excited about the Disney Yacht club ( or was it the Beach club) at Epcot . But they left our login credentials in place on Inspirato and i spent months looking at all the trips. Great Video

husband speaking - Bed and Breakfast - head ache - A few years ago we are at our home on Mactan Island, Cebu. Down at the beach, wife swimming, I was under the deck
as I can not be in the sun too much. I look over and there is a lady also there. I don't talk to other ladies with out my wife there too. She comes up and starts talking to her.
She is in a B & B about 2 blocks from our home, B & B screwed up and cancelled a couple of her days. She must find another place to stay or get out of town ( country )
My wife steps up, stay with us, shows her around town, a big party as it was Valentines day, take her to Bohole , etc. Luck for her and a new friend for us. Dennis Kjolso

Hi Wendy 👋 We’ve definitely never been disappointed with an Inspirato house. They always tend to blow us away. We’re often really impressed with the resorts too but they can vary on wow-factor and quality. We have a handful of favorite homes. Our favorite resorts have been Banyan Tree Mayakoba and Cliff House Maine. So far… :)

@@paulgingrich3215 Paul, we’re so glad you went there! Isn’t it so beautiful!! It’s still one of our favorites. We’re currently at Montage Palmetto Bluff and it might be fighting for our number one spot. But Cliff House will always have a very special place in our hearts.

This is an awesome video. I am interested with Inspirato but I was wondering if, you can have family and friends with you with 1 pass? if you are staying on a big house that sleeps 12 people? Will food drinks be available inclusive?

Yes, you can! There’s a lot to explain and we’re happy to help. Will you send me an email at erin@followabc.com. That’ll be an easier way to communicate everything.

I mean if you really like it but it doesn’t seem to make any sense for ordinary people. Paying $2500 just to stay in a big house for 5 days ?

    • @AlwaysBeChanging
      @AlwaysBeChanging  Год назад

Sometimes it's 5 days in a huge house, sometimes it's 3 weeks in a large condo... it just depends on what you search for and what's available. In any case, we went from having to spend around $450-900/night at the Hotel Del Coronado to getting huge private homes for less money. It's not something that everyone an afford, of course, but if you're spending thousands on lodging when your family takes a vacation, Inspirato is a very economical option!

It’s really hard to trust you guys. It all seems very fake and you can’t tell how much you are getting paid to say all of this.

    • @AlwaysBeChanging
      @AlwaysBeChanging  Год назад +2

Hmm... that's a tough comment to address since this is really an instructional video so it's hard to understand what part would be hard to trust. We're Inspirato members and we dedicate a lot of time to helping others see how we use the program to fuel our semi-nomadic lifestyle. For the record, nobody pays us to say all of this. We make money from RUclips for ad revenue and like all Inspirato members, we can qualify for perks if we refer people who sign up, but we're putting this information out here because we have people asking for it. We appreciate you speaking up, but not really sure how else to address the feedback... Hopefully this helps?

Wow... you did not mince words... Fair enough. You know what I am doing? I am RESEARCHING. There is a thing that you were on when you posted this a year ago... THE INTERNET. Alongside the internet there is the phone. I am also certain they have documentation that you can read before you do any kind of signing and giving of money. All you got to do is research and find out for yourself what is being said and if others have been using it etc. That is actually what I am doing to see if this is something that will fit my life in the future.
It is not a matter of trusting or not trusting these people blindly, it is about listening to what they have to say and then doing the work that I need to do to either find out if it is true and it works and it would work for me, or if it is not true an/or it won't work for me.
I will say that they having glasses on during the video were they were refuting the website was odd and I wondered why they had glasses on and why not go to another part of the house where they could speak without glare. But again this is where I do my own research. I don't trust anyone on anything, I need to to verify first. Also being paid to promote something is not a bad thing overall. That is how you get to know what is out there that may or may not benefit your life.

First I would like to say to all the naysayers who say that you are paid by Inspirato other than a referral fee that they pay to EVERY one, I believe you are not paid (although I think probably if you have any problems, they will REALLY go out of their way to help you as you one of their most ardent supporters) but as you say they probably treat ALL their customers that way-it’s like the way MLM companies work, with a happy customer they find people who feel like they are sharing what they like vs selling is better. I DO think they SHOULD throw in an extra trip or try really hard to give you that Dominican house you desire so much in exchange and you could tell them I said so LOL!! The only thing I asked, is put on your home page and on every video on top info, the link on “How to book on Inspirato” you have so many videos it was difficult to find-found your Q and A video fist was frustrated couldn’t find the answer, probably like most people I forgot to use the search engine on there! When I looked at Inspirato website and talked to a seller it seemed too complicated, YOUR video was the BEST selling tool.
In American culture it is verboten to ask one’s salary so not asking what proportion of your income you spend on your travels, may I ask about how much annually with airfares you spend on your travels? I thought at first you were a retired pilot with a major airline as you HAVE flown but saw your video on buying airline tickets (I had thought for myself of buying a membership and finding a retired airline employee to travel with, but didn’t know how, Craig’slist is not a good resource I think!) Also on one of your question and answer video, when asked how you derive your income you mentioned only the husband’s (sorry I am referring to you guys by that but by already forgot your name as ), do not discount the wife’s author income, she can call herself an author a lot more than Jeff Bezo’s ex wife!
For those who chastise you saying that your travels are for the rich, your site say it IS for LUXURY travel, I believe that you are not rich, but you are most likely in upper vs. “reguar” middle class 130-360K but can travel as if you are and that is the point of your videos. The wife said that she was criticized for being overly cheerful, forgot THOSE people, better that than grouchy!
Last but not least I want to say it is good that by using Inspirato you are able to travel with your kids presently, by spending your money now, you may not be able to leave a large inheritance but you will leave a legacy of happy memories. My parents were not rich by any means but living in the Bay Area, a 150K apt house and 65K home were appraised at over a million dollars each (one which my sister won’t sell or rent 11 years after the last death) which affected my inheritance (ironically my mother didn’t divorce my dad as she didn’t want the money go to her lawyers but her daughters but has estranged us instead). Had we traveled, we may all have bonded together better.

Thanks SO much for your thoughts and insights, Evan! We shouldn't be surprised that many people think we're sponsored by Inspirato since we praise the company so much, but as travel vloggers, we try to share all the interesting details of how we live this life. Obviously, talking about how Inspirato facilitates so many of our amazing lodging experiences is a major component. And to your point that Inspirato should be throwing us some extra love, I'd say they probably do :) They really helped us promote our channel when we were just starting and they still help us with exposure today. They also do whatever they can to provide us with opportunities to create content that will help us both.
As for the question of how much our travels cost us, I'd say... a lot. Certainly into the low 6 figures annually for the past 2 years. Probably between $40-50k just for United air travel in 2022 so far. And since we've had 2 Inspirato Pass memberships all year, that's about $56k. Add in all the taxis/limos/Ubers, all the restaurants and other food, all the private guides and excursions, etc... and especially for a family of 4-5... it has added up fast. And despite what many might think, it's not an inconsequential cost. We do have to keep an eye on our finances because this is a very big amount for our budget. In some of our recent episodes at major resorts like Terranea in LA, where almost every on-resort activity (archery, kayaks, etc.) was around $250/person, we opted out and just hung at the pool instead. With 4 people on that trip, that meant $1k per activity and we just weren't willing to spend that much.
Overall, you're hitting the nail on the head: we prioritize travel. It probably won't make us the wealthiest corpses in the cemetery but the memories and bonding that it provides are priceless. Three years ago, we were sending the kids off to school every morning, spending too little time together in the evenings, and living cookie-cutter lives in general. I (Phil) often acknowledged that my biggest life regret was likely to be not spending enough time with our kids. Now that we're traveling so much and spending 24x7 together during those weeks, I feel so close to the kids and can see them growing so close to each other. ❤ And of course Erin and I love being together this much.
There are no guarantees in this world, including financial--as you've unfortunately experienced with your inheritance. So we're choosing to live for today and so far it just feels right.
