Minor correction. Haneda Airport handles more passengers per year than Narita Airport ( about 60 million vs. 40 million). The reason for the difference is because Haneda handles the vast majority of domestic routing to and from Tokyo. Conversely, Narita is definitely higher in foreign flight destinations. Haneda was the original airport for Tokyo, and handled both international and domestic flights. Narita was constructed to accommodate the increase in international flights which would have overwhelmed Haneda. Haneda was able to renew foreign destinations (there were a few to close-in Asian destinations that was allowed to continue at Haneda when Narita opened) when the 4th active runway was constructed, while Narita only has 2 active runways.
I just got back from Tokyo and discovered your channel. Great content! One thing I'd recommended if you're in a country with no English signs is to use the google translate app. The app uses the camera and translates the writing really well. I used it whenever I went shopping or ate out. It's a great app.
Welcome to Japan Lockwoods! 🎉 You’re our travel superhero! Denver to Tokyo looked like a piece of cake, and waking up super early to catch the train? How do you guys do it?! And yes, Japan taxis are way too expensive but well worth it though, especially after a long flight. By the way, we're totally digging the "RoboErin" thumbnail! ❤️
I wish it wasn’t a photoshop, I wish I really had that outfit 😂. It was the perfect start to our Japan trip. But can’t wait to get to the good stuff when we’re all together!!
Wow a robot hotel , really 21st century. It’s really hard to go to a country without English translation but the pictures help a lot. The “family room “ size of the hotel is like tiny apartments in NY . Excited to see more of Japan 😊
When do you upload your next videos in Kyoto? I cannot wait anymore! Me and my girlfriend are watching you every night before we sleep! We are a big fan so you better upload videos soon! ASAP!
# 2 I'm back, 2:20 pm in Everett - mom just texted that she is sitting in the plane, next stop Inchon, Korea - 11 1/2 hours. a 3 hour delay, then 4 1/2 hours to Mactan and once out of the airport, 20 min. home. The Raman soup looked super nice even to me, not to spicy though, one of my favorite dinners in Cebu. Have a fun safe trip.
@@AlwaysBeChanging It is long and i'm sure your family has been there too. Your flight to Japan is about the same as the 1st leg to S. Korea. It is 7:30 pm in Everett, she has been in the air 5 hours. She may call me when she lands in Korea. ?
I could eat that RAMEN all day every day! But would pass on that Robot hotel....I want my humans, imperfect as they are, hehe. Missed you Lockwoods! Keep it coming
I'm sure the way you had your ramen with lots of sauces on top would make local feels strange. The average size of a hotel room in Japan is very small even compared to western countries especially in Tokyo as the rent is pretty expensive. It's not like in Philippines or Thailand where you stay in resort to enjoy beaches. You may spend more time with the nature, food and history to experience their cultures. Suggest you to book an Onsen hotel with full board service.
I assume you mean the two sauces on the side, sesame oil and soy sauce. I figured they were there to add to our ramen. I’m glad it was still so delicious 😋 really really delicious!
husband speaking age 80, 9 am now in Everett, Wash. wife is heading for Cebu - don't even have time to start - be back in a couple hours = anxious, I am. lol
I have seen the Henn Ha hotel before…a little creepy but fun looking. Japan seems like a very automated city and you’re right you can never be 100% prepared for any situations when traveling! I love a great bowl of ramen! Can’t wait to visit Japan for myself. I have heard the 7 Eleven’s there have great food as opposed to the ones here in the US. ❤
If you like ramen, you HAVE to come to Japan. Nothing like the ramen here. So good! The 7-11s are fantastic. We get so excited every time we see one. But I think it’s just because the food and items there are new and exciting compared to US.
Unless you got to narita really late, I wish you had taken the bus/train. I get that you were with kids and all but damn that's a lot of money for taxi. And I wish you tried the pizza there. Japan probably has the best pizza in the world. I was blown away.
I wouldn’t have thought to get a pizza. Interesting 😊. Ya, if we had more time we would have taken the train but our flight was delayed a few hours and we had a really early morning train to Kyoto the next day so we wanted to get to our hotel as quickly as possible.
The lockwoods are back!!! Editing this comment cause I forgot it’s supposed to be a secret lol… excited to see your family travel through Japan. It has been on my bucket list for a few years now. Hope I can go one of these years…
Our first meet up with them is in Kyoto! :) We have all had the best time together here. Vlogging and travel is even more fun when we're with our buds :)
Thanks! So happy you’re following us along. Chatgpt is a much faster and we’ll organized way to get suggestions. I don’t think it’s great to have it plan everything or take every top suggestion but it puts together a good list for you to choose from.
I went in late March until mid April to Japan. A friend of mine was there at the same time, and stayed at the Henn na hotel. I visited the hotel and those robots just could not be of less help. Had the hotel staff (real people) called a taxi for me. Never take a taxi from Narita, you will over pay.
We definitely over paid! But we had a small window of time to get to our hotel, eat dinner, get some sleep and catch a train in the morning. And I was so disappointed that the robots really didn’t do anything. But a neat prop in the hotel 😊
@@AlwaysBeChanging We flew into Haneda for the first time, and it took us 2 hours to get to our hotel from the closer airport to Tokyo. Actually the hour ride into Tokyo station on the Narita Express is fairly easy. Just getting out from the basement (3BF) takes a while and then finding a taxi (not as long). Still will be a couple of years before Haneda is directly connected to Tokyo station by train.
@@AlwaysBeChanging I will say, if you want space in Japan, you'll pay more for the space. Also hard to find two bed rooms that are not twins. Stayed in Shibuya at the Cerulean Tower and got lucky at $300 a night for a king bed with great views. Parents room could see Mt. Fuji. Normally $600 a night for that room.
@@AlwaysBeChanging Odawara is the closest bullet train station, and from there you can take buses or local trains to hotels in the area and get the Fuji Hakone Pass which covers trains and buses for multiple days.
Dang, so scared that they have robots! Japan is so innovated but not have humans means no work for us. How do people live?? I know everything is condensed there. Anyways, I love your channel you are a joy to watch!💯❤️🥰😘. Your kids are so respectful . Your Family always makes my day a true inspiration. Much LOVE and RESPECT 🙏🏼!

Great facts about Haneda! Thank you so much. We actually went through Haneda for the first time today. Beautiful airport. I like it more than Narita.

wooowww.. like the robot staff hahaha...
Guys no skipping of ads please...
They were fun to see and interact with. But mostly props. It was a great value though! 😊
Haha, those foot massagers definitely made up for the cramped "divorced" family room.
Haha 😂 the massagers were Colt’s favorite.

Us too!! We can’t wait to share them 🥰
The noodles looks delicious 🤤 😋 looking forward for the next vlog 😀
They are soooo good. Unmatched to any ramen noodles we’ve had anywhere else. The ramen in Japan is THAT GOOD 😋
Way to change it up Lockwood fam.... nothing like a robot steamed foot massage and a bidet to get the day started haha.... right?
And the toilet seats are heated! 🤯 Game changer!!!! 🤣
