Our family’s catching a flight from our part-time home in the Philippines to the opposite side of Asia, touching down in the city and emirate of Dubai. Even though this is our first time in the UAE, we’re bypassing the obvious tourist traps in search of some Arabian adventure that’s more off the beaten path. So we’re about to explore Dubai by sea… by air… and by land. And for the first time in a long time, we’re traveling with a carry-on suitcase - but only for a very special reason. @sterlingpacific

How was Cebu Pacific Manila to Dubai? Its a low cost airline but I think it serves its purpose. We also got a good deal for a family of 5. Set my expectations and it was a good flight---on time, comfortable seats, with electricty plug for gadgets( I downloaded movies from Netflix), we pre ordered our meals and food was good. After 8 hours we are in Dubai on time! Cebu Pacific gets you to where you want to be at a fraction of a cost compared to legacy airlines. (not sponsored) just stating our experience for future travellers.

    • @AlwaysBeChanging

We have mixed feelings about the Cebu Pacific flight. The price was unbeatable! But our seats didn't recline and it was an overnight flight so sleeping was really uncomfortable. I wish I knew better to order our meals in advance. I wasn't prepared to have to pay for coffee, water, snacks, etc.

UAE citizens have a pretty sweet setup! I would venture that most have jobs and many of those are provided by the government. Not only do they not pay any taxes, but they get paid by the government just for being citizens. And most of their living expenses, from housing to health, are paid for. This is why you really cannot become a UAE citizen if you aren't born one!
