- This week, we're taking a quick break from our usual travel and food tours and answering your top questions about how our middle-class family travels the world in luxury almost constantly while managing multiple schools, multiple jobs, and a bunch of sports and activities.
We spent all of 2021 and now a good chunk of 2022 jetting around the globe to incredible luxury family travel destinations, flying first class most of the time and staying at massive mansions that would make your mouth water. And we're able to accomplish this lifestyle without going broke because of Phil's remote business and our membership in Inspirato Pass.

ABOUT US.
We’re the Lockwoods: a family with 3 kids, 5 careers, and endless passion for adventure. Two years ago, we decided it was time for Phil's ad agency to abandon the in-person, 5-day workweek. So they 86’d the office and work hours, allowing our own family to start traveling almost constantly. We now work, school, and explore in a different place every week-from our own mountain and beach homes to exotic villas, resorts, and yachts around the world. As we experience and support diverse cultures, we hope to inspire more families to design a life of freedom and adventure.
Because there’s a new American Dream. It’s one that’s void of templated expectations, templated career paths, templated education, templated families, templated homes, and templated lives. Freedom is no longer an American tagline-it’s just the new, global way of life.
Every day that you spend doing something that doesn’t fulfill you to your core, you’re living your life on pause. You’re deferring genuine family time with no guarantee that there will be a tomorrow or a someday. Some people follow that mentality their entire lives. We’ve chosen to never live that way again.
We appreciate you following our journey. The more our channel grows, the more time we can spend traveling to more locations, contributing to these cultures, highlighting local businesses, and sharing inspiring stories from these communities. So please consider liking, commenting, and subscribing so that you can stick with us for the long haul.
I was searching things to do in the Hamptons and stumbled at your episode..instantly became a fan of your channel. Love your family!❤️😍🥰😘
Jeseline, thank you. Welcome to our channel! We’re happy you found us 😊 Are you headed to the Hamptons soon?
Yessss
@@jeselinecastaneda7728 We're sure you'll have a great time. Such a magical place!
Watching this episode sure brings back a lot of amazing memories. It's crazy how much we've done over the past 2 years!
HILARIOUS that in the part where we're talking about how healthy we eat at home, it's showing us literally cooking chicken parm and blueberry bread pudding :D
@@heyitsraymond No doubt :)
Im so happy you went to the Philippines, my dear country….’love your family!
So great to see all these amazing family experiences. Such great memories being built.
Having spent a 22.5 year career in the Air Force, I had a one year assignment in Sicily. Unfortunately, it was a “remote” tour so my family was unable to experience the Sicilian Adventure. Your “street food” episodes reminded me of all the great cuisine I experienced during that time. The trattorias were fantastic, but getting a bite at a sidewalk cafe and getting the vino at a local winery is how I best enjoyed the culture. By the way I very much enjoyed your lobstering adventure. Our Cliff House vacation is coming soon. Stay safe and happy travels.
Thanks for dedicating all those years to the AF, Paul… one helluva career! It is too bad that your family couldn’t join you in Sicily but that sounds like an incredible experience regardless. We can’t wait to visit there and try to relive some of your magic with that street food. Thanks for watching and sharing your inspiring story with us so we have another Italian paradise to add to our bucket list!
You guys are great! Hope your channel grows exponentially.
Fellow Inspirato member here, I love watching your videos and learning about the different destinations. Thanks for all of the tips and information.
Trudie, thanks so much for your support! ❤️ What's your next Inspirato trip?
@@AlwaysBeChanging We haven’t planned our trip yet, but I’m loving all of the walk throughs of the properties.
Wow guys you are doing really well. I always loved watching your videos/channel so much. Your children are so lucky they are traveling with you and the same time learning about cultures from different countries too and it's great..
Thank you so very much. We're grateful to give these experiences to our kids. :)
Holy! This is incredible. I can’t wait to do my commmercial real estate business remote
Well fam, this one was extra special as I felt we, your viewers got to know you better, plus it's obvious put so much love into your life, and I'm grateful that I get to experience things through you that I would never experience in my own life. Loved Phillips's cue cards too. You are a delightful family, and I wish you much more success and meals that blow your taste buds away haha.
Thanks again, Dieter! We truly appreciate how sharing these experiences online helps us connect with like-minded people like you. It's great to remember that the world is full of positive spirits and that we can all help elevate one another through the abundance that we all share ❤️
You guys rock! Trying to build a similar life and I’m so excited to finish school and get back to traveling! One of my favorite RUclips travel channels for sure! Keep up the great work!
You really just made my day 🤗🤗🤙🏼👍🏼❤️ Best wishes for your final schooling and getting back to your travels. Please keep us posted!
As a tiny channel trying to offer value to the world, your comment replenishes our fuel tank! We can’t thank you enough for your support…. Let us know when you’re back on the road and maybe our paths will cross!!
@@AlwaysBeChanging that would be amazing! Currently enjoying your Barcelona videos ‘cause I think I’ll be visiting there pretty often this year getting a sleeve done by an artist that is based there. I feel like I gained so much knowledge by watching your vids. Can’t wait to see more content!
Yes to Alinea 💯!!! I promise you you’re mind will be blown. Dreaming of the day I can go back to Chicago and try Next and Roister!
Good point, Kim-we might as well see if we can do a full Chef Grant restaurant tour while we're in town :D Thanks for letting us know (and for watching)!
Paris,Paris,Paris!!! Side trip to Saint Malo (once a pirate town arrrr).Great seafood on Brittany coast.
If you’re still in the Philippines and have the chance, I think it’s worth trying out Antonio’s in Tagaytay, about 2 hours south of Manila. It’s one of the top rated restos in the country and the location is exquisite. You need to reserve for dinner sitting and some of their signature dishes need to be ordered in advance, like even 48 hours prior. But I believe the experience is worth it.
Thanks for the recommendation. We have so much to return to the Philippines for. We're inspired to go back now that we've been there and we have so many more recommendations.
I just found this channel and I love it! Maybe your family can do Ireland/Scotland soon 😁 I've added at least 5 new places to my travel bucket list because of this channel.
Shannon, thank you! And thank you for follow and supporting our channel. We’re glad it’s been helpful. Which places made your list? We will absolutely go to Scotland or Ireland as soon as we get the opportunity 😀.
@@AlwaysBeChanging I'm headed to Florence, Rome and a cruise that stops at a few Greek islands and ends in Barcelona this October. So I'll hit a few places on that bucket list. Croatia is number one on my list after that thanks to your videos. I met a wonderful lady in Cancun from Belfast and I was invited to see a bit of Ireland and Scotland with her probably next summer. And France & Switzerland are on my bucket list as well. It's an endless list. This is huge for me because before Cancun a couple months ago, I had never traveled anywhere. Not even in the states. I'm 43 today (happy birthday to me) and I'm determined to tick off my bucket list destinations, solo because my husband hates to travel 😢 thank you for inspiring me 💜
@@TheLostTimeLady Happy Birthday! That’s so brave of you to venture out in the world alone. But I know it’ll be so fulfilling for you.
I love that your list is endless. Just like ours 😊 I can’t express how incredible Croatia is. I really hope you make it there soon.
Best of luck on all your adventures!
❤👏 Nice!.. In my free time I watch your videos, its so relaxing to watch❤..
Thank you! :) We're honored to entertain you in your free time :)
i'd absolutely love to see you guys explore India!!! it's got soo much to offer, and so many different kinds of foods! Love the videos btw, I look forward to seeing everything you guys have to come :)
We love this idea, too! What’s your favorite place to visit and what’s your favorite dish?
Love you guys so much. And you guys should check out New Zealand ❤
🤗🥰 Thank you! We can’t wait to go to New Zealand someday!
Great video! Inspirato member as well… we’ve chatted on IG too. When you come to the Hampton, come up to RI and stay in Newport! If you can grab it, there is a new Inspirato house right in town. We live in RI - can make suggestions. Also check out the Providence Water Fire schedule if you come to RI.
Thanks, Hillary! I hope we make it RI soon. The Newport property looks great. We’re headed to Brooklyn after the Hamptons and then home for a week. But we choose new trips soon, so who knows where we’ll end up 🤷♀️ We’ll definitely take your recommendations when we make it out to RI 👍🏻
Don’t be pretentious we can feel it sometimes. Just be organic, I love your channel and I’m a subscriber yo!
Thanks for the tip. We hear you. I really hope we don’t come across that way. All the best to you 😊
Tijauna...wait, what? Can't wait!!
Us too! Going to be a lot of great tacos 🌮 . We have a lot of adventures in the works :)
Man you guys have the ultimate wing man (Colt).
Right?! That kid is a renaissance man... Crocodile Hunter by day, James Bond in the evening... so much passion and curiosity. Thanks for watching, Bic!
Stumbled unto your channel as we prepare for our trip to Barcelona in a couple of weeks and have enjoyed your content. Great tips on leveraging airline and credit card perks and benefits. Amex will be doing away with free Centurion guest passes next year; do you think its worth getting kids as additional card holders?
That's a great question! We actually are in the process of switching to the United Club card so we can have United lounge access. As much as we love Centurion, we wouldn't pay more for the lounge access knowing we could utilize a United option. Plus, the card will help us accrue more United miles and PQPs, which lead to upgrades for international flights. So I think it would depend on if you're loyal to an airline that has lounges as well and what benefits they can give you. With all that said, Centurion lounge has been consistently the best lounges we've experienced.
❤your vlog very interesting 👍🇨🇦
Thank you 😊
This is my dream
I don’t think you guys are pretentious at all!! I lurrrve you guys omg!! Oh… you should definitely try Massimo Bottura’s Francescana in Modena. It’ll definitely blow your mind 😬😘
Modena is high on our list because of Massimo! We saw him on a Chef Table episode and we HAVE to experience his food.
@@AlwaysBeChanging Book waaaaaay in advance though ;)
Hey guys,
The quality of the videos on your trips are great
Do you shoot them using a professional camera or a phone? Or both?
Thank you! And looking forward to some more eating episodes
Thank you so much! We use a combination of cameras… Our primary is a professional Sony A7S3 but some of our most popular episodes were shot entirely on iPhone :) ❤️❤️🙏🏼🤙🏼
Oh btw… You guys should check out Turkey and Bali 😬
Thanks for the tip! We’ve been particularly intrigued by Istanbul.
Hello, can you tell me the name of the bottle of wine you love from Italy?
I would love to buy one for my dad to try but I couldn’t quite catch the Italian name of it in your video. Thank you!!
I’m sure you’re referring to Colle Bereto we ❤️ that wine 🍷
Thank you so much for responding that sounds exactly like the one!! I love watching your families travel videos 😊
I have learned so much from them!
How do you guys structure schooling with the young ones? We are a family that loves to travel at least 3 months of the year but not sure what were going to do when kids start grade school right away.
Our oldest daughter actually does in-person high school in Colorado, but Brooklyn and Colt are both in a good online school program that allows them to do almost all of their lessons whenever they want. so it works around our schedule, which is great.
Thank you! Now I know that I am no-class 🤣🤣🤣
husband speaking - this was a great 25 min. show. I admire Colton grabbing the lobster - My first trip to Manila, 1978 - my wife's brother took us out to dinner. There
I am watching the entertainment, my wife and her family busy talking their language, and finally out come these wooden bowls with huge prawns. - unshelled - YOU
WANT ME to touch that many legged gross thing? Then, my wife's family is very important in Mandaue, not famous, but clan wise, important. Many of her friends want
us to come to their home for dinner. One place had a huge round table, several maids serving dinner, and this big fish on a platter in the center of the table. At dinner's end,
one of the maids said, No one touched the fish ??. My wife said everyone was waiting for " ME " to take the first bite. Sorry, but for me, food must stay down and I am not
going to eat what I don't like. I'm not afraid to mention what I will not eat. Raw beef yes, anything from inside an animal, no. liver, heart, etc. that's for the garden.
Okay, "husband," now that you've commented on this many episodes, you're gonna have to share your name with us 😂
All of your stories are fascinating, but this one in particular. Now when will you two make it back to the Philippines?
Can you explain how Inspirato works and how someone can get involved? Thank you!
Hi Love to voyage. Inspirato has two types of membership: Club (small monthly fee for discounted rates at homes and resorts), and Pass (monthly subscription for zero nightly rates at homes and resorts in their portfolio). That’s a basic explanation but there are so many benefits. You can get more info at followabc.com/pass and we can connect you with our Inspirato rep.
Michelin restos are just overrated. Alinia is really mind blowing and visual sensory exp is out of this world. :) you should visit Japan. :)
We would ❤️ to visit Japan! It’s high on our bucket list. I think Alinea is a must for us sometime this year. It’s about time!
I think no need to emphasize "middle class family travel the world"
I felt that we are chopped liver !!
Are you guys hiring? 😂
Lol. We wish 🤗
It is against the law to serve alcohol to minors
Well, Dennis-the accuracy of that claim depends entirely on what country you're referring to. @@heyitsraymond "Prioritize travel" 💯- We couldn't have stated all of this better ourselves!
Nice to meet you guys! I found y’all through Instagram. Let us know if you are ever in Louisiana, our home base. Best food in the country!!
Nice to meet you, too :) We love Louisiana! We've had a New Orleans food tour on our minds. As soon as the opportunity presents itself, we're there! Where have you been traveling to lately?
@@AlwaysBeChanging we live in Lafayette, Cajun country, and the food is different from New Orleans. We just got back from Corpus Christi yesterday and in a month we are leaving for a 2 month road trip to Michigan, then the Smokey mountains, down to Florida, then back home. On RUclips we are currently in the middle of our road trip from last summer where we went to 15 national parks in 30 days. It was intense but super fun.
@@RidingElevators wow! Sounds like an adventure! Phil (my husband) keeps wanting to do big road trips. But he hasn’t fully convinced me yet. I’m an airplane girl. He hasn’t gotten me onboard with the long car rides with kids :) But might be in our future!
@@AlwaysBeChanging you can do it! Bring lots of snacks, books, card games and music. The kids will get a little crazy after a while and that is when you stop at a park or somewhere fun to let them burn energy. Then 🤞 they fall asleep. 😴 I like airplanes, but my wife, Krista, prefers to be on the ground. I also like to stop at roadside attractions along the way to break up the drive. There is so much to see in the USA!
