@@garymartingolf Old Ping Anser 2 with a pitted shaft,new ping grip every 3 years.I am old don't putt as well as I used to,the rust is on me.

Gaz, great video again. I've upgraded everything in the bag and have had the most success with the wedges. My short game went from a hope and a prayer to being very strong. Thank you for the entertainment and value. And the audio quality was excellent today.
I've gone from free hand me downs, to spending maybe 200, to spending about 500, to having probably about what James spent in the bag right now. My best score came from the $500 set and just playing a lot.
The biggest change hasn't been the score, it's been the enjoyment like you said Gary. I've found my custom fit clubs more enjoyable, and I have been able to make some shots I couldn't before.
Watching how the shaft bent/loaded on the Golden Bear driver it's a surprise that either of you made contact with the ball at all. James will be far better served with his new set. Enjoy them and once you're fully used to how they play you'll be golden 👍👍👍
Starter sets are good for anyone interested in starting. Sometimes the golf bug is just not there, and no big loss.

Yeah, he’s a nice lad. Theres going to be some changes, he’s keen to improve. We’re going to do a mid handicap to single figure series once he’s abit more established with the viewers, maybe a winter project ⛳️

Too many 'silly' mistakes appear to hamper that progress at the minute...but, you're already ironing some of those out by giving him some good routines to go through.

Wedges and putter first additions to budget set… made the most difference. Then irons … then woods..
It’s not whether he wasted his money, it’s about enjoyment. If he likes the new clubs, and they give him the chest puffed out feeling, what’s to worry about. Mind you, if he’s spent £2k, spend a few £ on lessons and maximise on his investment.
liked the comparison Gaz. It might be cool to shoot a comparison with the approach shots and putts from the same spot and see which of James new clubs makes the most difference on the same shot. Though it is all about scoring.

Great video, I think the real gains come mentally, the new quality clubs give you that air of I can do this shot, whereas the starter set tells you maybe you can do this shot but if it doesn't work then it's oh well it was the clubs.
Another great video seems that James's is a top bloke and seems to be bot far off been a good golfer look forward to the next one

I'd love to see James have a short game lesson, with practice, I think he'd be able to drop at least 8 shots per round, single figures handicap here we come.
I play off plus 3 with a set of ping i210 set probs worth less than £100 including everything bag and all
I was going to mention James alignment on fairway shots seems closed to target.
The irons look ok. Replace the driver and the putter as soon as possible. Wedges next?
Of the two sets if you leave a club on the course you would definitely get one of them back though!

Gaz how you find wearing glasses? I just can’t get on with wearing mine to play. I caddy for my mate in Sheffield union league and I wear them then and find I can read greens better just can’t play in them🤦♂️😂
let’s put some £100 rifle shafts off ebay/golf clubs for cash in those irons and your temu grips in the budget set and see what happens

I think if you got him a set of 20 year old premium clubs to compare with his current set I think it would definitely be a toss-up
£500 you can get a decent set 2nd hand

Package set, get a putter first
I was the first decent club I got following my mcgregor package set.
It just shows, a good golfer can play good golf with any old rubbish. But you miss a bit of edge and it won't be as much fun to play.
