What you need to figure out is how to have your truck charge the trailer battery while your driving on the road so you don't have to worry about plugging your battery in.
On the trailer plugs there is a slot for auxiliary or 12v so that is power from truck for you to use for what ever purpose you need like charging them batteries like you stated while driving down the interstate.while parked you can still have truck power feeding batteries that's how it works until plug is disconnected
Because you don't want to be driver's side (facing traffic) when you pull off the road to adjust your air, or chains, or whatever. You want EVERYTHING you MIGHT have to work on, on your curbside.
Skeeter Saurus I pull equipment at work and I like my binders on the driver side because it’s easier to see in the mirror and more convenient since I’m normally by myself and can’t have a passenger to hop out to tighten it up. Plus most of the time you can find a parking lot to pull over in.
Buy ONE aluminum trailer...and you will NEVER own another aluminum trailer again. While aluminum will save you about 40% weight initially...that aluminum trailer, after a few years of road-salt, hard impacts and vibration, etc.; will have DOZENS of stress cracks in the frame...so where you paid a 40% premium to drop 40% mass (and reduce trailer strength by 20%), you also picked up an almost 100% guarantee that trailer will be riddled with cracks in 5-years...so you can't re-sell it for any decent resale value...and you can't keep safely towing it...so you end up replacing a premium trailer far more frequently for what? Because you want to 'tow aluminum'? No thanks...my old steel trailer will last 20-years, and resell for 40% of what I paid for it new!
@@skeetersaurus6249 I think what Ron was asking is why aren't the bolt ons aluminum? Not any part of the trailers structure, but just the boxes, and the wood holder. Bolt ons, if they were aluminum and did wear out, could be unbolted and replaced. While the rest of the trailer keeps on truckin..

Would require an inverter with that setup as the trickle charger is AC and truck is DC. But hey with all that other shit on there what’s another $250 for an inverter? Then he could run a microwave on the upper deck for a quick cookout?
@@carolinatrucker966 You don't need an inverter. our alternator supplies 14.4v to charge your truck batteries and you can wire it directly to the 7way plug.
