    Two speed landing gear is so if you have raise the trailer while it’s loaded. The lower gear ratio makes it easier on your back. Not a big deal if you don’t unhook while loaded.

    On the rusty side of your toolbox I'd suggest sanding it to bare metal, prime and put a few coats of paint on it then secure a mud flap to it. That way it won't get beat up anymore.

    • @Mr.AlexKogan

      Yeah I need to do that. It’s crazy how beat up it got in one year. Or make it black textured like the truck bedliners. That would probably be tougher.

      ELD. It tracks all mileage driven in each state and when I purchase fuel it’s linked with my eld so it keeps track. You need all this information for IFTA filing each quarter.

      @Mr.AlexKogan  9 месяцев назад +2

      Thank you my friend👍🏻 I actually asked a DOT officer on the chains and he said with any gooseneck you still have to have chains. Said semi trucks don’t have chains because their fifth wheel works differently. I’m mot sure what’s different about it. I prefer to keep the chains for extra safety. They dont bother me.

    Brother, what trailer did you recommend to buy?

    • @Mr.AlexKogan
      @Mr.AlexKogan  9 месяцев назад +1

      It depends if you are hauling cars or cargo. Depends how much you are willing to spend. What features are important to have for you. There are so many variations. Diamond C is the best and most expensive. PJ trailers is next after that and then Bog Tex. I’d recommend disk brakes for sure. Air ride is good to have but not important.

    • @Mr.AlexKogan

      @Mr.AlexKogan  9 месяцев назад

      @@jamesnelson5700 unfortunately my trailer didn’t come with a manual. I researched about it online. Couldn’t find anything that says everyday. You could be right I’m not doubting you but when you stop driving around 11 pm every night, the last thing you think about is letting air out of your tanks. I doubt semis do this everyday.

    • @jamesnelson5700
      @jamesnelson5700 9 месяцев назад

      @@Mr.AlexKogan I wish RUclips let you post pictures, on my toolbox that contains the air system it says to dump everyday and to deflate air bags while loading. I also run a semi and the difference is we have a water separator and purge valve for our air tanks while the hotshot trailer doesn’t. But you should also drain the air tanks so moisture doesn’t build up and create rust inside the steel tank. I also ungraded my hotshot trailer’s tank to an aluminum one. I don’t know where you live, but during the colder months, you should drain them and leave open the valve every night so the air inside doesn’t ice up and clog your air system.

    • @Mr.AlexKogan
      @Mr.AlexKogan  9 месяцев назад

      @@jamesnelson5700 I’ve ran the trailer last winter without freezing up issues. What your saying makes good sense but I just don’t have the time or desire to drain it every night. I usually stop driving around 11 pm and I have to shower and get myself ready for next day so to mess with the air tank everyday is super inconvenient. It makes good sense though what your saying.
