    Nice set up! The best upgrade I did to mine was adding a auto bleed at the drain on the bottom. Every hour it opens for a couple seconds to keep moisture from collecting in the bottom of the tank.

    I would recommend a Wilkerson 175 psi regulator/filter that has a 3/4" inlet/outlet to eliminate the bottleneck created by reducing to a smaller regulator. Also, I use the Milton V-style hi-flo couplers for increased air flow to the tools. I have a 60 gallon 2 stage Quincy and installed some RapidAir 3/4" Maxline in my shop. I have 3 drop outlets and 2 reels. This makes it nice and convenient. Next, I am going to make an aftercooler to eliminate the water out of the system. There are several good videos to watch on making an aftercooler. Looks pretty simple to make and does a really good job of separating the water from the air.

      Yeah the accessories were definitely done on an extreme budget. Lol. It works for now until I can put in a whole system with drops. Thanks for watching!

    It is a very nice compressor but I have a very small garage and don't have all these tools to run. Got me a 30 gallon craftsman it can do 6.2 SCFM at 90 PSI or a little bit less at 100 but it's still okay for what my needs are. They're great hope yours is still working well.

    Get some 3/4 inch sections of steel pipe and some fittings and you can have air on the other side of your garage with the compressor sitting right next to the breaker panel.

    Thanks for sharing your setup for and experience with your air compressor with us!
    I just acquired the same model at a discount from one of the big box home improvement stores since it was damaged in transit. I'm eager to get mine up and running, but I need to source a few replacement parts first. Unfortunately, Craftsman's parts catalogs aren't what they used to be prior to the brand being sold off by Sears.
    I'm curious if you could tell us what brand of motor they mounted to your unit. Mine is from Marathon Electric (model 5KCR160DXP0025Y), and unfortunately neither Craftsman nor Marathon provide information on service parts for the motor, specifically the start and run capacitors. If you have the same motor, can you provide specs or model numbers for those components?

    I have been thinking about getting the same compressor for my house garage so I can finish building my S10 and paint it. I had the Craftsman Professional back in 2004 when I had my own little body shop in my home town in Alaska. But ended up selling it and closing up shop to go work for a collision shop. Now living in Southern California I have been looking to get another compressor. I've been wondering how loud it is. I don't want to disturb my neighbors lol. After all this time how are you liking it??

    • @MyLegacyGarage
      @MyLegacyGarage  2 года назад +1

      I'm still loving it! It's not overly loud I don't think. It's a deeper more rhythmic sound than a smaller one. Think big block vs weed Wacker. 🤣 It's sooooo nice to have all the air I need now. I'd definitely recommend it. Thanks for watching!
