Tip for soap : you can add chips of solid white soap while each layer is still liquid and when you cut the gem shape it will look super neat!

Just a bit of caution; I used to work with alcohol inks but they are very toxic, especially if you are setting them on fire.
I used them for around a week and even tho I was wearing a proper, cartridge voc respirator and using as directed ( ie no fire ) I was starting to get lung issues. I was feeling asthmatic and coughing up blood. It has taken me over 10 months to get back to a reasonable state. I’m still sensitive to other things like petrol fumes and cleaning products, which only happened after using alcohol inks. I have to get my hubby to put petrol in the car, I clean with vinegar and I use a push mower.
All I’m saying is, it’s not something to mess around with. This is my experience with it, take from it what you will

Tip for soap making: keep a spray bottle of rubbing alcohol on hand. Use it at the top of each layer to pop the bubbles. And then before adding a new layer give it a spray and the layers will look more ombre!
Kelly Blaine I’ve actually heard of that too before 💕🎉 thank you for posting that on here for other viewers to read. Next time I make layered soap I need to follow those instructions.

I wouldn't want the alcohol to dry out my skin when I use it. Does it affect the quality of the soap?
@@astgoddess the alcohol burns off. There isn't any in the final product.

Tip: for the excess soap you can let it sit at room temperature then pop in the microwave for 10-20 seconds. Then you can go ahead and make another soap crystal!

Clear soap isn't cheap. o -o
Its not too bad. Especially once you see how much better your skin feels. It doesnt contain detergents like typical store bought soap. And its so customizable. Plus you can re-melt the excess that you cut off
@@sabrenasherrer9142 yes, but the title said cheap, besides I only get paid 150-157 biweekly and I'm trying to cover a lot of people.
99% of store bought melt and pour soap does contain detergent and sulfates. You can special order ones that omit the bad stuff.
Clear soap is $10 at michaels, but it’s $6 with the 40% off coupon they have every week. And then you can make multiple soaps with that

For the phone case, I wouldn't recommend using nail polish.. I used to use it a lot and it doesn't dry that well. Hence why it's called nail polish. I would use acrylic paint for that, it's much easier to move around and you don't have to use as much of it and it also doesn't dry with a slightly sticky texture.

The soap on Amazon is 13.99 for 2 pounds and the dye 5.20 for 3 colors. It's not too expensive but when you want to make this for one person like I do your gonna have a lot of excess lol. And 20 soap IDK doesn't make sense to me but all in all very pretty.

If you mean for the soap, she didn't use food dye so it wouldn't. She used soap dye which is meant for soap because it won't stain you skin

I would look into coating with polyurethane. Mod podge works for the phone case, but will scratch easy and erode away over time. The polyurethane will give a stronger long lasting finish. You can get this at any hardware store. Great video!!

I live in Switzerland. Dollar stores don't exist. A photo frame or a beanie will cost a ton. And from what I see, so does soap. This type of stuff won't be cheap if you live in my country.

Great video I love your Diys. I'm just curious do you use a special dye for the soap because I would think that most dyes would stain your hands. The gem stones would be gorgeous for a candle project too. I recently started to learn how to knit hats and beanies and I never thought to make the pom poms into mickey ears that's a brilliant idea. Katya S heyyyyyy, yes I use soap colorant! I found it on amazon. It’s specially made to dye soap. You can use fragrant soap oils as well to make your soap smell good! I love I love! Ps: so cool you make legit homemade beanies. 💕🎉 so talented !!
