that last one with the key brought back a poignant memory for me....back in 1965, I was 5 years old, I just finished watching one of those xmas puppet shows like rudolph the red nosed reindeer, on our old second hand black and white tv...I went to where my mother and father were sitting, and said.. Mama I need a big box...they both looked at me and asked ..why... I said I figured out why santa didn't come last year, it wasn't because I was a bad girl, which i wasn't...it was because we have a stove pipe and not a chimney, and I thought I could make one with a box...(crafty even back then). My parents looked at each other for a long time and then Daddy said, honey you are not a bad girl...there is no santa clause, it is your mama and daddy who buys you presents and we didn't have any money for presents last year.....I thought about it and said oh, ok then...I was so relieved, I KNEW i wasn't a bad girl and now I knew it was just because we were poor and that was the only reason I didn't get a present....I asked well what about the tooth fairly? yes it's us too...said daddy, then he said honey you can't afford to believe in fairy tales when you are poor...I find it so funny because we lived in a "tiny house" off-grid" no in door toilet, lived off the land...it was called poverty then, now it's called living green and leaving a small footstep.... funny how things get spun into a whole different meaning....
Also, if the wick is already burned and you cant afford new you can always hand deliver the gift lit 🔥. It’s beautiful to show up at someone’s door with lit candle 🕯. Very authentically old school.

Definitely need a part 2, nothing speaks bigger than saying “I recycled this from that!” I have recycled/thrifted since a kindergartner after my first trip to the City Dump and I was actually allowed to get out of the car!! Oh my! I was in Heaven!! Why do people toss such great stuff? I really liked the change made to the breadbox, and it will work anywhere! Great video!

These are perfect ideas. I love the bread box and the basket. In the basket with the cozy throw I would put some cozy slipper. Comfy pants and a good book. Make a pretty bookmark. Add some tea and a pretty mug. Thanks for the inspiration.
My grandson has been making me homemade gifts since he was 2 years old. He is now 13 and still makes me homemade gifts. They are priceless to me. His Mother and Maw maw are so very crafty. Homemade gifts are my favorite 😄💖 I just love the Santa's key idea
Always love hunting up ideas at the thrift shops and have been known to give quirky and funky gifts to my friends; but they always find a place for them and I hear from people that they bring smiles to even their visitors, so the joy spreads further! ☺

Quick tip: if you find baskets at a thrift store. Put it i n the dishwasher they wash beautifully. I should have said natural colored one basket like the one you just did.

I agree, these gifts are truly amazing but only when you actually know the likes and dislikes of the person receiving them. When done wrong, they can create a lot of waste because of certain assumptions and differences between the giver’s taste and that of the recipient Thoughtful and amazing gifts like these takes time and should be reserved for those that are really special in one’s life.
