    I’m sat in front of the log burner with winter sunshine coming through the windows, my dogs are curled up next to me and I’m watching your lovely and inspiring video. Hmmm …. I love the deer and polar bear and may have to make a move towards the kitchen table and unpack my clay. Our daughter arrives next Sunday from 🇬🇧 and we are both looking forward to some clay play and wreath making. Have a happy Christmas with your family from a cold and frosty France.

      I would make the reindeer. I want to get some resin but I'm scared of buying the wrong thing and wasting my money. I'm 74 and I don't have a lotmof extras

    • @RedRockingBird
      @RedRockingBird  9 месяцев назад +1

      @@marlenejones6266 I have another video coming soon about varnishing the clay, if you are wanting resin for resin crafts too then that’s an option, but all the bits and bobs that go along with it can really add the cost up, so if just for using with clay, I’d go with a varnish of sorts. Thanks for watching ❤️😊

    Hi Sarah, I love these projects, especially the gnome, the polar bear, and the star candle holders, which were awesome. By the way, I tried using your link for the cheapest Das air dry clay in the UK but the link didn't work at all, even when I copy and pasted it straight to the web. You couldn't possibly let me have the correct link could you? I would be very grateful to you. God bless you and your loved ones. Stay warm and Merry Christmas to you and all your family.

    What did you use to seal the star candleholder? Since there would be a flame, I am concerned about flammability.

      @RedRockingBird  Год назад +2

      check for a non flammable varnish yes and never leave a candle unattended.

    Hiya, I have a question.. I'm a bit anxious about this so it would be really helpful if you would respond.. I got this air dry clay that comes in two separate parts, an epoxy resin base and a hardener and you have to mix those two before using. Can you tell me if this is safe to use? I'm just a bit paranoid. Thank you so much for your time ❤️

      Hi, sounds like you have a modelling compound. It cures as it is a resin base, so not the typical air dry clay. It’s a great product and safe to use, I’d wear gloves and work outside if possible for maximum ventilation. It dries rock hard so very durable and water resistant. It doesn’t shrink and crack like air dry clay so this is a bonus. It’s just normally quite a bit more expensive than crafters air dry clay. Best of luck with it, just enjoy it and let me know how you get on. Sarah

      @@RedRockingBird That sounds lovely, I'm just normally a bit paranoid😅 the one I got wasn't actually expensive, even less than the other air dry clay brands. Could that depend on where you're from?
      Also (I'm fairly new to this) what exactly did you mean by curing? Do I need to bake it?
      And wow I didn't know it was water resistant

      @@RedRockingBird your videos are really helpful, I'm thinking of trying the trinket pot today because that's exactly what I had in mind and I was searching for a way when I found your channel, it's lovely :) I did try a tiny dish yesterday just to see how it goes too lol

      @@paperinashes if that is what it is, a 2 part normally means it’s epoxy so that is strong stuff, you don’t bake it no, it just cures rather than air dries, if we are talking about the same product 🙈😂
