The ideal of a sustainable living in minecraft is kind of cool. You'd need a village to aquire a lot of high level materials, a cobblestone generator for building materials, a basalt generator for variety, a tree farm for wood (you can get a variety of saplings from the wondering trader and exploring), piglin trading, farming, and you could also acquire mining materials by adventuring without breaking the rules I think. Would a mob farm count as renewable? I could see it being fun as a cottage core game.
Yeah a surprising number of things in minecraft are renewable. Iron is renewable because of iron golem farms, gold is renewable because of piglin farms, while diamonds aren't renewable, the tools and armor they're made of are because of villager trading. I'm not sure if netherite is renewable though, and elytras almost certainly aren't renewable.
By that logic, everything is renewable. There are only a very few specific exclusions, ones I can think of right now are. Bed rock, end portal blocks, crying obsidian (? Not sure on this one honestly), and probably a couple other things from the newer updates
@@GelatinCoffee no, not even close to everything. The stone is renewable actually. You can smelt the cobblestone for stone. And cobblestone can be infinitely generate with lava and water. The only few important things that can't be renew would be elytra, netherite and diamonds. But getting full diamond set (including tools) with best enchants is still possible. 0:58-Austin,stone is renewable in Minecraft. To generate cobblestone you need to mix flowing lava while flowing water. To generate stone you need to mix water source blocks with flowing lava, and water source blocks are also renewable in Minecraft.

3:25 my guy you’re doing California dirty again, we got a lot of biomes in this one state. With almost minecraft distribution: Lodi and Woodbridge is a swampy area, Manteca and Modesto are sandy dry lakebeds with mid dust storms and these two areas are only an hour drive apart. I guess you could say that all the variety in California is microbiomes within three biomes but swamp fog and dust devils are less than an hour drive apart where I live.
I wonder if it would still fit in my idea of it being an experimental micro terrarium with artificial sources of heat and cold to create the biomes. On a much smaller scale, the sharp temperature differences may not cause such an impact.
2:35 with the exceptions of microclimates--I know this because in my old hometown, there was a factory that would have snow in about a half-mile radius of it, where everywhere else got rain. Thanks, Intel!
Technically, cobblestone and iron is renewable, since you can use a cobblestone generator to farm cobble and kill iron golems from a village for iron. Villagers sell Diamond tools, and you can find incomplete nether portals in the overworld to get to the nether.

Ah, the ol' reliable! Love you dude! 1:10 Stone IS renewable. Predume that wood logs come from a renewable source. Lava + Water = infinite cobblestone + Lava + Water. Cobblestone + Charcoal + Furnace = Stone + Furnace => (Lava + Water) + (Wood.2) + Furnace = Stone + Furnace + Lava + Water. Therefore, Stone can be made infinitely without spending non-renewable resources. Therefore Stone is renewable. Q.E.D.
I don't remember all the details to this but I belive in way, way earlier versions of Minecraft biome generation would actually try to generate warm and cold biomes away from each other pretty sure that was back during beta though. I think currently the game layers a metric crap ton of noise on top of each other.

Yes. Nothing like some classic Austin. And here's a thought. With increasing biodiversity and geodiversity in Minecraft as the version numbers go up, it could very well be that OG Minecraft that didn't have much in the way of biomes, was actually in the future, and each new version is a step into the past.

"Steve! Did you put your snow in the goblet of lava!" Austin said *calmly.*
Man, so few patrons back here. I'm glad you got more
Austin screaming is just a sign that the environment is replenishing and life is returning to the surface.
The storm has passed
And a new struggle, for the ultimate fate of life itself, begins.
My go to example of the rain shadow effect is the area where iran borders the caspian sea, it’s literally like rainforest and then immediately desert
Ngl your videos were pretty much the only videos I consistently watched on Game Theory, because of the science!
Fun story, a buddy of mine and I were playing local co-op on his PS4 once. I spawned in to a rainy spot because it was back where he first started. I made my way to him, and he met me. He had clear skies. I still had rain. I felt like a cartoon character with the rain cloud following around above their head.
You, good man, are my nitpicky safe space. I feel so extremely validated by these videos and they even scratch that "but WHY is it wrong?" itch. I love it so so much.
Austin, if it makes you feel better, you screaming about Minecraft is my favorite genre of comfort videos.
I'm very sorry to hear you're not feeling well at the moment. I, too, have been struggling with an artistic block for almost a year, now, except my art of choice is drawing, and I used to be a mega-prolific illustrator. It's a passion, and it legitimately pains me to acknowledge how long it's been since I've created something. I hope you'll be able to find a way to manage your struggles, and in the mean time please know that I, at least, don't hold any grudges against you taking care of yourself and trying to find ways to balance it mental health.
As for the episode, I really enjoyed it! I love science, and learning in general, so I've always really enjoyed your content. Weather patterns are fascinating, and I've certainly noticed hour improbable it often is in video games. I was initially thinking you might SOMEHOW validate Minecraft's ridiculous weather much like you did for Zelda, but... cataclysmic destruction is just as acceptable of a conclusion in my book.
"THE SCIENCE" were the only videos i watched on GT for quite awhile, I'm so glad to have found your videos again
I'll have you know that I'm sitting at my desk writing while I'm watching the video, Two thirds of the screen for the video, one third for vim. And yes, I enjoy screamy Austin.
A thought: What if the worlds start *after* the pressures equalled?
Then there wouldn't be the massive temperature differences so close to each other.
Pretty cool to understand the formation of desserts from mountains and air
Happy to see you still doing these over here. Also happy to know Matt, The theory crew and you are all still friends. ❤️ Ill be here for the vids Austin
Fun Fact: Matt has actually never seen porn... or so he says.
I’ll watch any video you make honestly. You constantly for years have entertained me and so many people. Mojang and Bethesda should be worried. Always happy to see you in my subscription box. Thank you for all your work.
Maybe do a episode on how to make a underground city the could keep a large enough population in it to repopulate the earth. The amount of living space, recreation/entertainment, education, food storage and production, water and water treatment, seed/DNA vaults, energy, ect. With the understanding they need to wait for the fall out of radiation of nuclear war to dissipate or for humans to discover a way to safely get rid of it. This cannel likes fallout so much figured trying to figured out what a vault would really take to work would something fun for you.
I would totally play a mod where there was a weather apocalypse coming the second the game started and you need to build to survive. Limit how deep you can dig etc
You were my childhood dude.... you probably raised a good bit of us actually! It's good to see you still at it man. You ended up becoming a key component to my sence of humor, I get yelled at for talking too loud alot 😅 but I'd never change it.... your awesome dude! Keep at it!
Idea for a "the science" episode
Near the end of the movie Migration, there are a number of ducks on a plane behind a barred metal cage-like wall, they all ran against it and completely bend the metal open, so how much force would these ducks actually have to use to push open a metal gate?
0:58-Austin,stone is renewable in Minecraft.
To generate cobblestone you need to mix flowing lava while flowing water.
To generate stone you need to mix water source blocks with flowing lava, and water source blocks are also renewable in Minecraft.
Just so you know bud, you were the only reason I watched the other channel, glad your back in your home turf where you can do your own thing your own way with zero nerf
Yay, a new video! One I've been wanting to see for so long too as living in Florida, I'm all too familiar with the fact that Minecraft's weather should be nonstop hurricanes all year round with all these cold fronts and warm fronts engaging in Mortal Kombat, lol
Also hope you're doing well and getting the self esteem you deserve
Austin, you are legitimately one of my favorite people on this platform and only recently discovering everything that went down a few months back with GT I couldn't be happier to see you continuing to make these amazing videos for us. Keep going strong dude :>
Missed this style. Happy you have the freedom to go back
3:25 my guy you’re doing California dirty again, we got a lot of biomes in this one state.
You were my favourite part of Game Theory, by far 😭 So happy I remembered what to look up!
I wonder if it would still fit in my idea of it being an experimental micro terrarium with artificial sources of heat and cold to create the biomes. On a much smaller scale, the sharp temperature differences may not cause such an impact.
My favorite part of every video is when u say "hi its me austin!"
I usually say it with you. XD idk why it brings my smol brain so much joy
Nothing better than ending the day with Austin screaming about weather 💪🏾😁
2:35 with the exceptions of microclimates--I know this because in my old hometown, there was a factory that would have snow in about a half-mile radius of it, where everywhere else got rain. Thanks, Intel!
at least it makes more sense than it used to with the new biome generation
I appreciate the polycule slip and subsequent commentary 😂
Technically, cobblestone and iron is renewable, since you can use a cobblestone generator to farm cobble and kill iron golems from a village for iron. Villagers sell Diamond tools, and you can find incomplete nether portals in the overworld to get to the nether.
Austin: I failed at being sustainable once I mined stone for cobblestone.
May I introduce you too… the generator!
Men, when I searched for your viseos in game theory today and didn't find it my heart dropped thinking it had been deleted, THANK U SO MUCH for posting them here ❤ I loveee every single one of them
rain and snow is perfectly possible minecraft was just missing the transition zone known as slush.
That ICP "Magnets, how do they work?" never gets old.
"It's not enough to impede your breathing..."
It can be. I've experienced days so hot I couldn't breathe well.
Yes, but it's not because the air is thinner, it's because of a combination of increased oxygen requirements to try and keep yourself cool and likely also humidity.
"I have major writters block" When I'm like that i'll take a walk. What works for me might not work for you, but it does a good job shoving me into thinking instead of writting cause if you focus to much on the keyboard your thinking about the task instead of the project if that makes since
Ah, the ol' reliable!
I have missed these videos. There are few creators like you.
It feels so good to see these videos again
I want a mod that brings Austin’s visions of minecraft to life
I don't remember all the details to this but I belive in way, way earlier versions of Minecraft biome generation would actually try to generate warm and cold biomes away from each other pretty sure that was back during beta though. I think currently the game layers a metric crap ton of noise on top of each other.
I love every type of Austin, not just screams Austin
Glad to see you back Austin! You were my favorite part of Game theorists and I went hunting for your videos to binge them one day and couldnt find them.😢 I'm so happy you are back, cant wait for more!😊😊😊
Yes. Nothing like some classic Austin.
And here's a thought. With increasing biodiversity and geodiversity in Minecraft as the version numbers go up, it could very well be that OG Minecraft that didn't have much in the way of biomes, was actually in the future, and each new version is a step into the past.
I am so happy MNGDS is back. Keep up the good work sir.
