DJI PHANTOM 3 CAMERA SETTINGS
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 23 дек 2015
- I recently did a video on the DJI Phantom 3 Professional quadcopter that I've been using. I've had several people since ask me about the camera settings that I am using on the Phantom 3.
Aerial photography and video work is similar to landscape in that you have a very wide dynamic range that you have to deal with. Its difficult to capture in digital format. The Phantom 3 features a Sony Exmor sensor… having said that it is a decent camera, but not incredible. There are some settings that you can use in the DJI Go app that will help with your footage considerably. I will explain these in this video.

Thanks for posting this video. I was going crazy trying to get good results from my Phantom 3 video until I watched your tutorial. The settings you suggest work great and makes the videos much easier to work with in post. Your instructions were concise and easy to follow. I am already getting some great results. Thanks again!
There's an art to teaching off the cuff like this. You have a fine balance of knowledge, wisdom and humility that makes your vids hugely watchable, especially as the overloaded internet conspires to steal our precious time. Every second counts! Thanks.
Thanks for the tips! Will try them over the weekend and share my results!
Thank you ! I put those settings on my Phantom 3 Standard , i get a lot better footage after color grade than before !:)
Great to have a photographer talk about photographing with a drone. Everyone talks of the dramatic footage with a bunch of ooo's and ahhh's.... right up to the point of how to tune the camera and work in post. As a working photographer, I liked having someone actually walk through their experience with the camera part of the drone.
Thank you for making such an inforamative video in such a short description great work
Amazing vid. Been looking at alot of videos and you've done an awesome job sir at explaining it. Thanks alot 👍👍
Nice! I was having problems on my footage because I was using auto settings and on some turns I was getting huge white balance changes. But this video of yours has taught me how to use a custom setting. Thanks so much!
Thanks alot for this guide! Today was my first flight with my DJI Phantom 3, and the pictures turned out very good after some post editing. All thanks to this guide :)

Great video mate! Thank you!
Congratulations.
Excellent explanation!
Got the SE. I'm really happy with it with this video showing me that the sharpness kills it
Very good video with great info!
Thanks for the excellent tutorial. I am a huge fan of the Phantom 3. The camera is really nice, and 1080p 60 is extremely useable. I am constantly surprised at my ability to push colors and shadows in post. The highlights do clip pretty dramatically if you're not careful though.
Thanks for a great video. Glad I found you. Subscribed!
great video. really useful. thanks
Thanks so much ! Really helpful.
thanks for making sense of a lot of things in that clip
I know this is an older video but it is a really great one. So well explained. Thanks. R-J

Thank you! Very helpful !!
Thanks. Great video.
Great video Thank You
Thanks for the video!
Hi Ted, thanks for information.
Good stuff! Thanx for the post!
Liked and subbed
Great video, it helped me a ton!
Great information, thank you. I have had that sharpness texture - squiggle effect in video, particular over rooftops, as you said. The PC gaming industry calls it aliasing - the context is the same. But I tried sacrificing resolution for frame rate, and that helped a lot where 1080p at 60 or 120 FPV will take it out, or slowing the movement too. Albeit, I am a novice photographer but that's my two cents worth. Again, thanks for the info! Subscribed 😎
thanks very much.. really helpful
Great thanks for the tutorial!!!!
Thanks. Great video!!
Really helpful video!
Excelent video, very helpful
Thanks for the info!
Thanks! I try new set up my next flight. :)
Gonna give a chance this settings tomorrow!
Great tutorial. Thanks for sharing this. With your settings you get a really flat image. Will these video settings also work in lower light with higher ISO's or will the image fall apart once you start grading it?
Great tips! tanks!
Good one thanks
I just get the Phantom 3 and I will start working on videos...nice!!!
Thank you so much.
That is useful thank you
cool video and really good lighting on you during the talk.
Great Video!
I noticed that you had Magic Bullet Looks in this film. How do you correct D-log footage with MBL? Thx
great video!
thanks! :)
great video..thanks! I am thinking of changing to RAW instead of JPEG. Never done that before so trying to learn. When I switch to RAW what difference will it make? shadows better? Also I am going manual and trying to adjust things. It seems my camera is out of focus more. Could that be cause it needs to be light for the focus to work better? thanks for any advice..
very helpful
Hello. Thank you so much for this very useful video. I learned a lot from it. Can't wait to get into the field with this. However there are still two questions I'd like to ask. Number 1 being:" Do I still need to use an nd filter for the various conditions?" And Number 2 "What are your thoughts on "Pinnicle studio " for editing software since no one ever mentions it.
Hi, thanks a lot for your tuto, very helpfull...Just one doubt about it, I just got Phantom 3 Adv and plan to use your settings; however, when in auto recording I get light changes that
ruin my video. Should I lock exposure once measured for the hole recording?
Hi Ted, you certainly made video editing interesting AND easy to follow! :-) I'm on Windows (10 to be exact), so it's either Adobe Premiere Elements or Filmora for me (any advice would be great here).
I like how simple Final Cut Pro (and you, of course) make colour correction and looking at your video, the whole UI. In your exeperience, which Windows based software most closely matches FCP for function and usabilty? Thanks!
Thanks! I just bought the Phantom Standard. I know the camera isn't as good, but this info will hopefully get me better results!
+Mike Hallman I own the Standard too and I'm a video producer. The standard is pretty much near perfection for the price you pay. you can get really impressive footage from this thing and the 2,7k looks really nice. those 1,3k missing to 4k arent the big deal
+rarevfx Does the custom settings for sharpness contrast and saturation are valid for the standard too?
Rolando Perez yes. Also d-log
Rolando Perez yes
I have the same drone
thank you! great!
Good video. Very thorough. Does D-log create larger files?
nice video. i will follow that.
Nice one!
great explanation, i only have issues with a high noise level when i shoot in dlog, is there any better settings to not have that, i shot on iso 100?
Thank you!
Thanks!
Thank you.
love it! :)
Thanks for the great video. Is there any way in Litchi or GO to make the camera settings semi-permanent? Every time I land and swap batteries, all my camera settings vanish. It is very annoying.
Hello There -
I heard you say what kind of program you use to edit video and pictures but can you recommend a few so I can compare please?
Thank You!!
thank you !
do you use a nd filter?
Thanks
nice tutorial :) thx
Cheers mate!
Do the settings stay that way or do you have to set them for each time you use the drone?
Nice video bro my question is where did you get your thumbnail picture for the video I like it it shows phantom 3 is there a website I can go to to get free thumbnail picture
Thoughts on selecting between NTSC and PAL ?
what video resolutions/framerate does Phantom 3 Standard have?
Do they have 1080p with 60fps?
Thanks for the video, it helped a lot. However, maybe you can explain why I have a large black area above and below the video? i.e. no full screen.
