For all of you wondering if you can just take the phone with you: Yes, that is possible (Android only) but a little complicated. What you need is a second phone with GPS. There are GPS routing apps available that you can set up. This way, you take one phone in your pocked, that phone records the GPS and sends it to the second phone. The second phone is connected to the RC and uses the GPS data from the phone in your pocked. Hope that helps... Safe flight!

First, the sunglasses on your head have to be removed. 2nd, speak at the normal speed. You don’t want your audience to be dazzled on chasing your talk. Pause at the end of your sentences and in this way won’t appear mumbled. Hope this helps.
Good video but you didn't talk about the distance function that is available with the right stick ! With the right stick you can control the distance between you and the quadcopter

Can I make the quadcopter fly in front of my position? - like when I am sailing my boat I would like footage of the boat from the front moving forwards through the water...
With the newest update to the DJI app there is now a button that appears on the left side of the screen to access the follow me feature. So, toggle F-mode, hit button on left side of screen under the auto-land & auto-takeoff, agree to terms of follow me stuff, then happy flying!

you don't need a cellular ipad for follow me to work. if you have only the wifi version, then you can get the dual blutooth gps addon and works great. I believe some of the other's work also and have one advantage over the cellular version, is the blutooth gps addon have better gps accuracy and I am sure with my Dual gps it responds better during follow me.
The Phantom 4 does not use the device for the follow me mode function. It tracks the color of the pixels of the object that your following. The only DJI Phantom that uses the devices GPS or Positioning Module are the Phantom 3's.

Great tutorial, thank you for posting, planning on using the follow me mode to be able to film some neighborhoods so will be experimenting with speed, height and gimbal angle to keep the vehicle out of the shot...any advise?
One thing that was not covered is - does it maintain the original altitude or maintain the original distance from controller? So, if going downhill - will it stay at the original altitude?

i love the way nobody ever talks about the phantom 3 4K, i wish there was more info about this particularly P3. i suggest calling this ugly duckling of the P3 series the illegitimate child. seems like everyone has herd of it , but its seldom when its mentioned
@@tonypreciado4804 that's because the p3-4k was inferior to the p3p on paper, even though they both had 4k cameras. I guess people were getting them mixed up
You have same problem that I do. The Home Point follows the drone NOT YOU. I contacted DJI and they are not aware of this big problem. If you do a RTH the drone will immediately land. Check it out.

ColGadarby I was thinking of the same thing. Like Lily Drone's "Lead Mode". I was also hoping it can also do a "loop mode" as well.
