I don't think I have ever commented on a video but I just have to say: your videos are well thought out, explained thoroughly and extremely informative. You have taken the time to present the material in a complete and precise manner, unlike most channels in which the presenter hits record and makes it all up and never edits out the mistakes. Also, not a huge fan of watching youtube videos but I have watched about 10 of yours so far. For me that is unheard of. Excellent work. Thank you for the effort.
The P2 one and this P3 Vid make the workings very simple (as I use all your teachings ...they work and are insightful ) great quad mode .. good job Tom . Love your Show !!!!!
thank you for this explanation. i've had a phantom for a long time and didn't really know about this as much. i'm definitely going to get better shots with this. THNX!
This video was really helpful in understanding the function of Course Lock as well as its practical application. Your videos are well done and have saved me lots of time in learning about drones and safe flight.
I really enjoy all your Phantom videos and I've learned so much....Thank you and keep up the good work.Since there is no F mode on the Phantom 4 what setting are we supposed to use to use Course Lock?
Thanks for this...it really helps. But this video demonstrates a fly-by -- how to make a clean orbit around an object? That is also a big cinematic move to learn.
Hi Tom, your videos are really professional and very educational. You explained course lock really, reall well. Thanks a lot and keep up the good work.
Thank you so much. I've just started my music ministry.... I don't have anything to donate right now... but I can bless you my brother.... Go ahead brother.... God bless your project...
Great tutorial videos, Tom! I glad I found your channel. It's obvious that you put a lot of time and effort into these videos. A big Thank You from the USA!
One thing not mentioned is that a cross wind will effect the flight path with course lock. The a/c will drift off the set course. At least ways, it does on my P3a. Great vid Tom. Thanks
Your videos are very informative and easy to follow. I happy that I found your link. I'm a new pilot, about 1 month. I pretty have the hang of flying my Phantom 3 Pro. I have a question about flying without the gimbal and camera attached. I want to practice some close maneuvering between obstacles and i am concerned about crashing. i know the gimbal and camera are quite expensive. Is it possible to fly the Phantom 3 pro with complete control of the aircraft without the gimbal and camera attached? Thanks again for your great videos....
Hi I am new owner of P3P ,,please, let me know if the course lock can work with indoor flight ? I am also wondering if the F mode can be used with indoor flight even if there is no GPS signal ...thank you for all efforts made to broadcast these interesting videos
Great job. Your tutorials are awesome. I'm sure you're the one to ask: If you begin flying, supose at the edge of a cliff that is 50 meters above sea level,, and then you want to take Phantom to only 10 meters above the sea level to fly around a boat, I guess the altitude wil detect a minus 40 meters. Do you think this feature would work?. In general terms, waht happens when the Phantom fly "below" the home point? Thanks in advance for your response.
Tom went fishing for dolphin the fish not the porpoise finding the fish is often a problem from the deck of the boat the horizon is only about three or 4 miles away. It would be a good application if we could send a drone out to look for fish and convey back the location. You would only have to go three or 4 miles out
Tom, I have a P4 P+. I am new to RC and drones and so I am Mr. Ten Thumbs. My question is: what is the purpose of the little red arrow within a green colored circle? Is that supposed to be True North? Also; when flying in CL Mode, can I make a R or L adjustment to my flight path and still be locked into CLMode so pushing the R stick forward moves the copter forward and pushing the stick to the rear brings the copter back towards me? Thank you. I love your channel - keep up the great work!! Cheers, Tom Heller
Tom:After installing the latest update on my P-3 pro, the IOS features do not show up in "F" mode after airborne. IOS modes (Follow Me, POI etc) worked great previously. Any thoughts why it doesn't work? Thanks for your great videos. Very easy and entertaining to watch. Hope you keep up the great work.
Tom, you give good information, but most of the time, YOU TALK TOO FAST ! I realize English is not your first language, thereby making it even more surprising when you talk fast. Please slow down a bit for those of us that have a hard time with your accent. Thank you very much... Con, from Ohio USA
Hey tom steve from australia mate Apart from the standard phantom 3 not having light bridge and a lesser 2.7k camera on on board does the PRO version at least still support IOC, POI, follow me and waypoint features? Cheers :--)
Hi!!! Thank you very much for sharing and creating these videos... greetings from Mexico. I wanted to ask you a question about the Course Lock: I find it very difficult to make a straight line and turn the camera simultaneously, for example, as you made your video in the "castle", any advice?
+Fusion Playa del Carmen Practice! That's basically it! And next to that you can adjust your settings a bit, watch this tutorial of mine: ruclips.net/video/iqah4rLrmFs/видео.html Stay tuned and fly safe!
Isn't this the perfect case for the Typhoon H? It seems quite complicated to use course lock when it would be much easier to place the Typhoon H in a straight pattern and pan the camera, something the Phantom 4 cannot do.
Thanks for producing this very helpful. Please consider speaking a little bit slower and making R/C screen gestures just a bit slower to make it easier to follow. thanks!
FYI: I reinstalled the updates as a last troubleshooting resort. Now the IOC functions work! As if I didn't have anything else to do over the weekend. I'm sure all can relate.
Hi Tom, very interesting and good explanation...! Good job.BTW, is Course Lock working fine for indoor flight? It's no need GPS, isn't it? unless we switch to "P" button (GPS mode).
I liked the ability to select Course Lock with the Phantom FC-40... just a flip of the switch (after once turning on the IOC ability in the programming by computer software) However, has something changed in this software? Or is the P3Standard different than other P3s? It's 4/15/2017 and I don't get that IOC menu to popup. I cannot find the way to turn on course lock while flying my P3S. Did DJI make changes in the app? I have v3.1.7
You do very good videos, Thanks. The volume of your voice segments is not volume balanced to the HEAVY BASE music, I cant watch watch without constantly adjusting my volume..
Hallo Toms, is that possible if I turn on Course lock before take off ? in case, I filmed indoor, so I can't hover without GPS lock while activating course lock.. thank :)
My question is I have a DJI phantom three I standard I have a full battery charge and the chargers and then When I start up the Drone that gimbal don’t want to move sideways and up-and-down what will be the problem thank you
A question. If you set course lock when the quad is in front of you, what happens when the quad gets behind you? Do forwards and backwards and right/left become reversed?
I really enjoyed this cosplay!

Why don't you just buy them at the supermarket if you're that lazy.

very helpful video, Greetings from Greece!
+Tom's Tech Time Please make more videos on more complicated features of the DJI Phantom 3
Great Video, sub added. Is the phantom not as stable while in course lock compared to manual?
I really like your videos. They are very professional and well presented. But all the plugs just kill it for me.
Thanks for the information. im just about to buy a phantom 3pro.Need all the information i can get. Hello from Australia.
thanks for all your videos dude! Hopefully saving me from crashing my new drone! :D
Thanks Tom, going to save me a lot of confusion as a newbie Phantom pilot 😀

Tremendous help to my beginner flying
On your videos please set your music volume control to the same as your audio, don't like having to adjust it all the time. Thanks, nice video.
Hey tom steve from australia mate

Cheers :--)
I can't find course lock mode on DJI Spark. But your video tittle does. What am i missing?
i was wondering what course lock was, im used to it being called headless mode
Yeah same I have a Syma drone and they always call it headless mode
Yeah me too! I have a Syma x8g

Hallo Tom. Do I have to adjust the courslock every time I go to a differend place? Greetings, Jan Verhoeven Holland
Do you work for DJI? if not they should be paying you! these videos tutorials are awesome! Thanks for posting them Tom :)
When u are using curse lock, can u go up or down, I mean the altitude ?
Tom, voici une démonstration claire et nette, merci.
+Aujourd'hui le Futur 谢谢你,很多问候法国!可惜我不会说法语。但还是谢谢你乖乖让看我的影片!
What I would like to know, why when you view your video it is jerky. It's not smooth on the computer. Thanks for the help.Keep up the Great Job....:)
because he use "old ipad" for more smooth video view use a new device. its work in my case. thanks
You are best.
Regards from Sweden.
I'm sure all can relate.
another great tutorial
Does the quad still use GPS to keep in in one place when you are using IOC?
you know ! you are the man! great vid
Hi Tom, very interesting and good explanation...! Good job.BTW, is Course Lock working fine for indoor flight? It's no need GPS, isn't it? unless we switch to "P" button (GPS mode).
+Sad Agus It works based on the compass, not GPS, and works indoors as well! Stay tuned and fly safe!
Ok... Now I am clear. Course Lock will safe my indoor flight compare with "A" button which more scary me.
Thanks Tom... Have a good day.
ججج؟
؟@ 0p0p?
interesting... just wondering if the P4 has a similar function
Is there a way to disable left and right movements of the right stick while in Coarse Lock??
Amazing explanation!
Why is this on little zs playlist
Hi Tom, are you going to cover the Inspire Pro?
I liked the ability to select Course Lock with the Phantom FC-40... just a flip of the switch (after once turning on the IOC ability in the programming by computer software)
However, has something changed in this software? Or is the P3Standard different than other P3s? It's 4/15/2017 and I don't get that IOC menu to popup. I cannot find the way to turn on course lock while flying my P3S. Did DJI make changes in the app? I have v3.1.7
Can the p3 advance do target lock or follow a specific person?
You do very good videos, Thanks. The volume of your voice segments is not volume balanced to the HEAVY BASE music, I cant watch watch without constantly adjusting my volume..
Isn't this the same as "headless mode" in other quads?
Hallo Toms, is that possible if I turn on Course lock before take off ?
in case, I filmed indoor, so I can't hover without GPS lock while activating course lock..
thank :)
My question is I have a DJI phantom three I standard I have a full battery charge and the chargers and then When I start up the Drone that gimbal don’t want to move sideways and up-and-down what will be the problem thank you
Yur Dah Man! Great Info!!!
Thank you, great advice once again.!
Tom Will this also work on the phantom standard??? I'm trying to set it,, aggggg I'm a newbe,,, can't do it,,, agggg
Hey Tom What graphics software are you using.....thx
The P4 controller does not have a F mode, where would it be.
A question. If you set course lock when the quad is in front of you, what happens when the quad gets behind you? Do forwards and backwards and right/left become reversed?
I'd imagine it stays the same, as it is locked to a hypothetical line
It does not work in the way you describe, probably due to changes in the firmware. Have you got a updated tutorial ?
I have a spark drone, how to I'm use it. I have read there is not Curse Lock for spark.
