Hi there! I'm actually the author of this story! Thank you so much for choosing to narrate my story & I'm glad you enjoyed it! You did an amazing job. I'm so humbled. Thank you so much.
Is there a sequel to this story?
Bravo thanks
Where that sequel at thoooo
These are the kind of stories I love. Atmosphere of dread, mystery, well thought out story with suspense. No animal or child torture. Bravo to the author and narrator!
Appreciate the shout out Doc.
Thanx for the solace indeed.
I never realized how many stories I've upvoted, now I feel like I'm playing catch-up with 90 videos. You really are an entertainer. Fantastic story.
A story without ad interruptions is a real treat, Thank you
OH I REALLY DID ENJOY THIS ONE! Your voice just deepened the feeling of DREAD Sabrina S. what to convey in this story! Your narrating just excite one's senses.
Wow. One of the most terrifying man meets monster encounters I have ever heard. You truly are a master of this Doc.
I got so caught up in the story I forgot to breathe for a few seconds and had a coughing fit. your narration has quite an effect, good Dr. LUV YA!!!
That's one hell of a response to my vid :-)
Dr. Creepen, I am so happy to have found your channel! You bring such life to these stories!
I too, tend to drift off to sleep at times as your voice is quite soothing, but what I do is simply replay what I missed in the morning...easy enough!
I am off to listen to the last 5 minutes...The suspense is killing me! "15 meters to....."
Many thanks!!
Fantastic as usual, Doc.
BTW, thank you so much for taking the time to scout out these stories and make these vids for us. They really do make the tedious tasks I'd *really* rather not do go by so much faster. And the timing of your uploads is usually absolutely brilliant for me out here in California, falling neatly into a 15-20 minute window of "down time" I have each day between picking up my youngest from middle school and the middle two (and elebenty-gazillion of their closest friends, ahem) from the high school.
Having one of your videos sitting there when I'm in that down-time is exactly like that feeling you get when you trudge wearily down to the break room for a quick cup of tea or coffee between UGH, MEETINGS...wait...what's this? OH MY GOSH, some kind soul brought PIE to share with the team! OH yeah, baby, THIS day just got about 2,000% better!!! :)
A big motivation to keep going is knowing that these stories help so many people get through the boring times!
Fairly new subscriber and I certainly have binged a lot of your stories, much love Doc!
Welcome to our little community, glad you're enjoying the vids!
Dr. Creepen, this is sincere. As your tribe says ' no worries mate ' I am tending a dying relative, I have tended many. As I said, no worries. We come into this world, we go out, and my kinswoman lived a joyous life. But do you realize HOW many lives you touch? How many of us- mostly women I guess- are comforted and delighted by your warm, golden voice? What a comfort you are. Your stories are a door to world of adventure and a welcome shiver up the spine. Dear doctor, the REAL monsters- suffering, loneliness, cancer, poverty- are out here. Your monsters are our friends, who take us away from this sad reality. Thank you. Thank you for for your sweet golden voice, and your stories.
Fantastic job as usual Dr. Creepen! That was a gripping story, one of my favorites now for sure! Have a great weekend!!!
Great story, it grabbed hold of me from start to finish and it was fantastically thrilling.
A little bit Cthuloid me thinks.
I could tell from the first couple of paragraphs that this was going to be a good one.
Not cthuloid the proper term is lovecraftian
It was told that the creature he saw when he got in the lift to go back up had numerous tentacles waving about in the doorway, so I said Cthuloid in recognition of that.
If I was referring to H.P. Lovecrafts books in general I would have said Lovecraftian, but I wasn't.
I really enjoyed that sci-fi meets HP Lovecraft. A lovely Little Mix there, and I like the cliffhanger. Would love to hear a part 2.
Love your voice telling these stories. I listen to them at work on night shift each night. So glad i subscribe to your posts!
Ohhhhhh, that was wonderful!! You had me hooked from the beginning, as usual. Wow.
Thank you for continuing to publish. (I hear some narration channels have been demonitised. I think that's a terrible idea on the part of RUclips; makes no sense.) I am among many, many people who enjoy your work. Again, thank you - and please keep up the great work :)
Thanks for your kind words; they help keep me motivated!
Well, I don’t imagine that he’ll be sleeping too well with the impending sense of doom that he unleashed. Shouldn’t ever open doors to which skeletons are lying to keep closed! Haven’t you seen Prometheus? Dude, that’s one of the key rules in playing “Indiana Jones and the temple of the Big Ass Octopus” Rookie...
Ha Ha, thanks to both the author and our favorite Dr for an excellent story! Another “I’m forgetting to breathe” tale that you only notice that you’re hands are gripped so tight in your shirt it’s nearly tearing! Awesome job!
Wow, the suspense had my heart pounding! Good story, Dr. Creepen. Thank you! 😓😫😵
I knew even after reading just the first paragraph that this would be a good one.
Dr. Creepen
You were spot on with that quick perception Doctor.💟 Still so grateful I found you.
Another fantastic tale of dread and unseen horror. Oh the perils of exploring and discovery.
Thanks, Adam.
Pretty horrifying and awesome creepypasta Dr Creepen !
Glad you liked it, Corey.
This story is very unexpectedly unique! I'd love to read the whole book, if it were ever to be published. Loving it! Congrats to the Author and to you to, Doctor.
I'm hoping to get a nice start to the weekend, as well, Dr. Forza creepy!
Have a good one!
It's always nice to see when Creepypasta readers comment on each other videos. Some fandoms talk shit about each other, if 2 channels make similar videos they'll accuse the other of copying them, they'll rarely cooperate, stuff like that. When it comes to the creepypasta community though, most creators help each other out, give honest comments, collaborate on projects, cooperate with each other, bigger channels will help out new guys, you guys give shout-outs to each others channels, etc. Overall I think the creepypasta community is one of the healthiest fandoms out there.
Forza is my maiden name, my family's name. My family is in Washington state.
Thanks again Doc! love your Narratives !!!
You're welcome
this is probably my favorite one. i love stories like this. lost expeditions to the unknown!
Oh, I most definitely enjoy listening to your stories after a long shift at Domino's.
Great story. Great channel as well! Super enjoyable, binge-worthy content. Thanks so much
Excellent! There are stories and more stories. This one transcends them. Awesome! My congrats to the writer. Excellent narration!
Awesomeness is your forte. Love this on the ege of my seat enjoyment. Your voice rising as the action builds, building as the tension becomes greater. Your narration are second to none. Love this story. Thank you for every moment of suspence. You are second to NONE. LOVE LOVE LOVE YA. Have a great week. ..Do wish to know if they made it to the surface tho. A second part?? Heres hoping that we arent left hanging too long.
Epic job as always Doc. Really enjoy your narrations. You're the best at what you do. Hope you have a great weekend. Well, back to the night shift.
Thanks for your very kind words, Chris.
You have no idea how much loyal listeners rely on these stories.
What had happened to the previous three cartographers? The doors were closed when C4 went down there. Had they managed to open the doors, only to close them in time, but died of a heart attack brought on by fear? The story clearly says that they don't want to lose any more people.
This story has sci-fi elements as well as fantasy. Two of my favorite genres. I am also reminded of the "hollow Earth" theory. I love ancient archeology, particularly megalithic structures. The author combined all these elements to create an unforgettable story that can't help but awaken my imagination. I would love a sequel, if the author is willing. He or she has created a world, and I would love to see more. Thank you, as always, for your amazing narration which brought us together into the depths of the Earth. 😊
Loved it! Needed a good story desperately this week and the Dr. came through as usual, again. Thanks so very much for your work and the entertainment and escape it provides. Truly appreciated from this here part of the world. You're awesome.
Very happy you liked it!
0:11 You described my jobs exactly! Thank you, Doc! SERIOUSLY! You're the best! x3 Thanks for the shout out!
Hope this helped the time pass!
Amazing. Thank you for such awesome stories and of course your amazing intro.
You're very welcome!
New favorite story, from favorite Narrator.
Very happy you liked it so much!
my favorite drink at the moment is cough syrup, but I'm still gonna have my much awaited Dr. visit.
Get well soon!
You should upload more often I have listened to most of your storys and want more!
I do as much as I can!
Always listening, watching and waiting.
My first thought was Godzilla then it was a virus and now I'm thinking Cthulhu lol Thank you for the stories and I hope you have a good weekend too :)
Thanks, Diana :-)
Also thinking something between Cthulhu and Godzilla!
Diana I also was thinking about Cthulhu!
☆SOMEWHAT OF A SPOILER☆

Wonderful story as always Doc.

The opening of Pandora's box!- ALWAYS a good creepy story😄😏😘
Love the story Doctor. As always I appreciate your time.
I keep comming back to this video because I enjoy it so much Doctor. I cannot thank you and the original writer of this great piece!!!
this is like one you'd find in Weird Tales. fauna:unknown me: back in the elevator. pretty good!
I could tell after the first paragraph that this was a really well-written story.
Lovely building suspense, thanks Doc! Have a great weekend.
And you, Piglette!
Thanks to that fan art in the beginning i now choose to believe that DR. Creepen doesn't have a face, just a mask. Kinda like Rorschach or a sexy version of Slenderman.
Haha... there's a face behind the mask somewhere!
dr i say that all the time no one believes me either
I love the aesthetic of this one, a bit like Lovecraft meets Stranger Things.
I drive a tractor trailer in the United States, and I want wait to listen to this podcast during the middle of the night in the middle of the dark when it’s just mine and my boyfriend’s rig on the road and there’s no other traffic to light up the darkness. I want to see how many goosebumps I’ll get if I have to drive an overnight shift 😁.
love it its been a bit but finally got to listen to this at work thanks dr you got me thru another day
Glad to be of service!
my my dr what a delightfully creepy story tonight well done sir
Thank you!
just out of the shower, and Daddy is here waiting with a new bedtime story.
brownkv081 😁😮😶
Good timing, eh?
Dr. Creepen you've got a knack for it.
8-bit Isaac now now, jealousy is a very ugly thing.
He likes to respond to kind comments and playful ones, ain´t nothing wrong about that! If you´re so eager about him responding, Isaac, just say something nice or kinky ayyy or both maybe!
Sometimes ya just wanna relax and drink your second favorite drink ya know? Thanks doc. I feel like this is gonna be a good one!
I had a god feeling about this story even after reading just the first paragraph. After doing this for a year and a half, you get a very quick sense of when you're reading a story by a good writer!
WOW! lol really liked this story, thanx once again!!!
Gorgeous story, full of suspense -- I was getting subnautica vibes throughout
Sounds like a great opening scene / setup to a horror movie
So glad I found you Dr. Creepen..from your introductions...your voice..and the tone of the stories you read...Im resting much better these days.. so many vids to catch up on..im very excited.
This Creepypasta reminds me so much of the SCP Foundation :D
It does have that feel to it.
Doctor Sempai noticed me :O
I haven't heard the story yet but I came for the title.
Hope it lived up to the title!
God damn! That was an incredible story!
Looks like cartographer 4 is going to be red faced explaining that to his boss
Erm... boss... I might have left the door open
U r my creepa. Your approach is stellar. Keep on rotting in the free world my dude

That was a cool Syfi ish story very cool Dr.Creepen ! thank you!
Enjoy that drink ;-)
Dr. Creepen ha ha ! yes Dr. it was enjoyed and so was your story:-D I really appreciate our Friday evenings. Your a treasure.
This is one of the very best creepy stories that I have ever heard, great plot, interesting and engaging. There are plot hole (quite a lot of them) , for example: why is the protagonist alone? He is a scholar, not a soldier or explorer. Why not an entire team, led by professional soldiers? What happened to the three others that came before him? Who found the doors? etc. I think the story would be better if the author filled in some of the gaps, but if you can get past them, the story is really, really good! Excellent story, wonderfully read.
As my mother would say, "That's why you mind your business, that wasn't bothering you." Lol
This is like a best twilight zone ever! I am seriously on the edge of my seat (bed) about halfway through the story and the tension is incredible. thanks! talk to you later!
Whoah! Run!
Really great writing on this one

Indeed!
WOOOT! 3 day weekend!
Happy holiday weekend!
Another excellent read good Doctor!
Thanks for thinking of us night shift workers.
Hello from Croatia.
I will keep this story in mind for any future spelunking expeditions...
This story made me curious though... as it appears this place may have been located in Norway or one of those far northern reasons, due to the runic inscriptions on the door... Did the original builders of the underground city try to locate Middle Earth? If so... if so...
Awesome reading by the way :D
Excellent. I like stories like this. Greg
really good story Dr Creepen 💚💟💛👌
love your choice of stories to narrate but your voice is too soothing and I drift off to sleep...what to do??
It's all good; glad to help you relax :-)
wow loved this story
Very well written, this one.
The details given about the rune city remind me of Markarth for Skyrim ♡
Great tale thanks Doc
RUclips's algorithms promote videos with comments, I'm not sure if the length matters, but here's a long and semi-relevant quote. Elsewhere in the series this quote comes from, the author refers to the last item on this list as 'the doors of stone' so it's good enough.
“Perhaps the greatest faculty our minds possess is the ability to cope with pain. Classic thinking teaches us of the four doors of the mind, which everyone moves through according to their need.
First is the door of sleep. Sleep offers us a retreat from the world and all its pain. Sleep marks passing time, giving us distance from the things that have hurt us. When a person is wounded they will often fall unconscious. Similarly, someone who hears traumatic news will often swoon or faint. This is the mind's way of protecting itself from pain by stepping through the first door.
Second is the door of forgetting. Some wounds are too deep to heal, or too deep to heal quickly. In addition, many memories are simply painful, and there is no healing to be done. The saying 'time heals all wounds' is false. Time heals most wounds. The rest are hidden behind this door.
Third is the door of madness. There are times when the mind is dealt such a blow it hides itself in insanity. While this may not seem beneficial, it is. There are times when reality is nothing but pain, and to escape that pain the mind must leave reality behind.
Last is the door of death. The final resort. Nothing can hurt us after we are dead, or so we have been told.”
― Patrick Rothfuss, The Name of the Wind
Very kind of you to comment ;-)
Very kind of you to reply ;-)
Ahhh this story is awesome
Wow! Great story! :)
this needs a sequel
my only nitpick about this is Compass directions do not change when you the person turns around. The fauna would still be to the North he would simply be facing south. if the creature had went from being kilometers to the north to 2 kilometers to the South it would have went around or over him and then be in the same direction as the doors.
Well, that was right chilling! reminds me of something from Doctor Who or the like. Really fantastic read!
oh my god this is amazing
