Nobody ever described my camera addiction better! After my RX1r II it got better. I really tried to cure it with the Osmo Pocket, actually all three of them, but finally ordered the ZV E1 too. Life is short. I still tell myself the ZV E1 is the perfect companion for the pocket 3. zThe pocket is very often magical but sometimes the image is simply falling apart and my limited Davinci Resolve skills cannot rescue it. Poor me.😊
I've been on Sony for the last 3 years. What I really like about Sony is their overall ecosystem. I started with the a7iii, a7riii, and today, a7rv, a7cii and ZV-e1 (that I'm selling because I just don't need 3 cameras LOL - and I need the hybrid a7cii just a bit more than the video centric ZV-e1), that said, I just added the Pocket 3 to my kit.
Both are great. ZV-E1 is better because it has the Dynamic Active Stabilization mode which is absent from the A7C II. Crops in a lot but if you pair it with a wide lens, you should be set
Fun watching your video. I have a hard time feeling bad about you in the icy weather while living in Southern California. Snow does fall here, way up in the tippy top of the mountains. Doesn't stay long. Don't fret about selling and buying cameras. I do have one camera that is close to my heart, built in 1979, it is the Nikon F2 I bought in Japan. Today I am in love with Sony cameras, the beloved one being the A7R3, my first FF digital camera. Others are the a6500/a6600, a6700 and ZV-E1. I don't care what many non-influencers say about Sony vs. Fuji vs. Nikon. They are all tools like shovels for the garden. But when I got into the digital world, I chose Sony and now I realize I chose wisely. Damn, that little a6000 stole my heart. Now my niece has it.
That shot when you were walking away from the camera at 8:34 was great. Very simple but felt cinematic (Algonquin Park is such a beautiful place!) I'm trying to figure out whether I want to get the ZV-E1 or the A7Cii. Coming from a Nikon D600 (circa 2012), I've got no real frame of reference for these amazing new mirrorless cameras. I will be taking pics and tend to crop-in or reframe in post, so sort of leaning towards the A7Cii. But there is just something about the video quality of the ZV-E1 that I can't put my finger on - and I'll be shooting a lot of video too. I know both cameras are supposed to have similar dynamic range and similar low-light performance, at least up until the ZV-E1's beast mode kicks in at 12800, but the ZV-E1 just seems to have this more creamy, rich look. Every cinematic or vlog video I've watched always looks so good on the ZV-E1; the A7Cii videos, while great as well just seem to be missing a little something that I can't put my finger on. Maybe it's the image stabilization - maybe slightly better dynamic range ... who knows! I also like the 120fps. I'd love to hear your thoughts between the A7Cii and ZV-E1 in terms of video quality. I'm trying to resist becoming a "consumerism monster" as you put it and just getting both. 😅 Ideally, I'd love to hold out for a FX3 successor...so the A7Cii would have to really tide me over in the video department until then.
The a7C ii does a pretty good job for both video and photo, but like you said, ZV-E1 has something “missing” that I can’t put my finger on either. There is quite literally missing dials and buttons compared to the a7C ii, which can make adjusting settings a bit annoying. The audio quality straight out of the ZV-E1 is better than the a7C ii if you’re looking to shoot without added-on appendages
@@BadSloucheryeah I’m definitely leaning towards the A7cii. Would you consider the video from the ZVE1 better than the A7cii? I as mentioned above, and I can’t put my finger on it, but the video from ZVE1 just seems to be a bit nicer looking even though both should be similar at 4K24/30. I don’t know if the ZVE1 has slightly better dynamic range or colours than the A7cii. Have you had any overheating with your ZVE1? Thanks for the reply…decisions, decisions.
@@Digitalfiendscom I have had both overheat if I’m recording long interviews, but the ZV-E1 definitely overheats quicker than the a7C ii. I typically shoot short clips anyway. I despise editing interviews so I don’t do them anymore. But if I had to do another, I’d use the a7C ii. I would say that the stabilization on the zv-e1 is better than the a7C ii which is important if you do a lot of hand held video without gimbals. And I am strongly against getting and using gimbals but they’re such a hassle and another thing to pack, charge, and deal with
Love your videos and the way you are documenting life! Now I’m really interested in these compact cameras
Your videos are so well done! 👏
Thank you, Lisa! 💕
Well done! I'm not so sure how I feel about seeing the snow lately, it has gotten cold, but it is good to see more content from the area!
the existential trauma of trading or not trading in your beloved camera was strongly felt !! 💯

Great decision. Team zve1 and A7cii
team sony all the way lol so many more lens options in the ecosystem.

Hahaha, I’ve been eyeing the Pocket 3 too. I was tempted to get the a7rv but it’s too much camera for me.
Sony zv-e1 gang!!!! Woooooh. Altho I need to use mine more and make a video 😅
It’s a dream 😍
cool video, vlogging with that icy floor, I mean how do you even walk around there 🤣
lol I walk like a penguin. slow and steady. active stabilization to the rescue 😂
How is the IBIS stablization for these two camera

thanks for a quick response@@BadSloucher
Life is short buy more gear is basically my life moto 😂

@@Digitalfiendscom video quality between the 2 are equal, I would say the quality depends on the quality of lens you put on it. Use good glass
