    Hey Dan! I purchased my used Model 3 about 2 months ago and absolutely love it. I've had Tesla Insurance for that duration and I use FSD Supervised. I think my biggest problem with the Tesla Insurance is the forward collision warning. It seems way too random and sensitive. Sometimes I'll get really close to a car and it won't do anything, other times there's a car on the side of the road that I am nowhere near and it'll ding me. Whenever Forward Collision Warning does alert me, it doesn't just drop my score by a couple points, it drops the entire day down to like 50 or 60, I have to proactively drive the car around afterwards to get it back up. Also, the night driving thing, I wish it was pushed to 12am, while I understand the insurance reason, idk, seems a tad excessive to me. But yeah otherwise I like Tesla Insurance, it's by far the cheapest for me right now, but I don't like how the premium shifts so much.
    I've been watching your channel for the last year or so, keep up the great work man.

      Totally with you on the false forward collision warnings! I hope they get that fixed. I turned lff lane departure warning and seems to have helped but I'm not sure
      Glad you've been enjoying the channel!!!

    Great review of Tesla insurance. I am with Travelers now, but always shop around. My problem is home insurance and not being able to bundle it. I think Tesla,insurance could save me, but my home insurance would get jacked up and off set any savings. I live in Dallas and the insurance is going through the roof, literally lol. Keep up the great work.

      It really is going through the roof our here! I think you're right, it's harder to save on Tesla vs bundling

    If you park in a parking garage, the safety score dings you a lot for aggressive turning and such which can lower your score by 20

    Night driving penalties are completely unfair to those with off shifts.

    I feel like selling your data for cheaper rates isn't a great trade off but that's just me.

    • @FrugalNotCheap
      @FrugalNotCheap  2 месяца назад

      As an insurer, the hardest thing is to assess risk for the insured. If you do it blind e.g. treat everyone the same, then everyone who isn't risky has to pay more to make up for the risky people. Your insurer uses data, demographic data such as age, credit score, marital status, in order to determine your premium. This is pretty intrusive data compared to what the speed of the car is, or how hard it brakes. And Tesla Insurance doesn't use those demographic factors. In a way, it's discriminatory to use those factors. That's how it looks to me 🙂

      I have low mileage insurance with Tesla and I always get dinged even if I'm the only one on the road. From 100 to 93 , i did not drive for 2 and half weeks and my score went back to 100.

      @Puckett. 26 дней назад

      You do realize you’re being tracked already right. That phone you have in your pocket is collecting data while you’re driving and google sells it to insurances to track your driving. They use it to raise your rates but never use it to lower your rates. At least with Tesla it’s being used to lower them from their base price.
