I have a really bad memory and can still remember the lyrics to songs like Tribute, Kickapoo, PoD years after not having listened to them.

I believe I was 6 when my dad and I watched POD on dvd, and ever since my dad kept saying that I was their #1 fan.
I think I have watched the movie more than 100 times and I know almost every single line in the whole movie.
My dad's dream was to meet JB and KG but unfortunately he has'nt even seen them live... My dad was aged 50 when he died, 3 years ago, he never had the chance to meet his idols or even see them live.
I want to fulfill his dreams for him. 2 years ago when they were in Amsterdam I saw them live for the first time and I cried. I fucking cried. for three days straight. I loved the show, I loved everything about it.
But I was also very very sad because my dad was'nt there..

8 million out of their 20 mil budget... the movie flopped. By no means is it a bad movie, not to me anyway, but it's almost specifically aimed at Tenacious D fans, and did poorly with just about anyone else. A sad reality.

They are very good at what they do and they deserve the success. They also seem to be lovely people as well, who consistently please their fans when they don't need to.

One of the best gigs I went to when I was 16 or so was Tenacious D's first tour of England . I'm pretty sure it was at the Brixton Academy . Perfect venue for the The D . They did a great medley of british invasion tracks (I only really remember them going into the part of 'You never give me your money' from Abbey Road (the 'Outta college , money spent , see no future , pay no rent' transition) but because only a handful of people in the audience knew the lyrics and what was previously communal singing immediately became being stared at by youngsters who had obviously never listened to Abbey Road growing up 😅 . That was such a fun gig!!
