Jada Toys Ken compared to Tombstone would have been a more fair comparison. Comparing a blank body spandex clad character to detailed uniform sculpt is not a fair comparison.
I normally cherry pick a few Marvel Legends just because of the volume of figures they pump out each year. This year, they put out many figures where they knocked it out of the park. That makes it hard for me to pass on. I agree, I think not having to be saddled doing a bad MCU movie wave helps them a lot.
I'm just buying one offs at the moment. At the price point of $25, I can't justify buying waves anymore. I really wanted that Cable Wave, for the BAF, but just doesn't make sense to me. However, I'm loving that double jointed pinless is becoming the norm with ML. Except for their larger characters.
There have been two really good Captain America figures produced this year but none have butterfly shoulders. Toybiz did butterfly joints and articulated fingers 20 years ago. Hasbro has yet to put forth a build-a-figure wave with the highest quality craftsmanship they have available. They tend to make approximately 50% of their products with outdated tooling. The Vulcan standard body was released last year but they still put out new characters on the Bucky Cap body which was deemed obsolete. 🤦🏾♂️ And i don't even want to talk about the unnecessary two packs. The marketing team missed the mark yet again.
Legends have been cool this year. They’ve got a bunch of cool figs. I agree, where do they go from here? That newest wave I think I’m only getting Dracula (maybe Lilith). Supposedly 2 more waves this year but yeah, where can they go? I guess we will find out.
Great picks man and Great video! Some of these picks though were either hard to get if you didn't get in on the preorder or you didn't want the 2 pack I had no choice but to buy some of these 2 packs cause I really wanted the one figure for example Sabretooth yeah they shoulda gave him some extra heads and hands and sold him for 35 bucks and called it a day the wolverine he came with didn't even come outta the pack and went in storage😆
@Toygains Yup but that's how Hasbro makes their money 💰 They get you to buy the shit you don't need or want just for that grail piece for your collection
Yeah, I feel the same way about BAF waves. I hate having to spend a hundred bucks on figures I don't want just to get the BAF that I do want. I'd much rather the BAF was just sold as a deluxe figure!
Hasbro has been upgrading alot lately. 90% of everything is pinless and their releasing figs people want. Im a happy collector, my collection is all definitive versions thanks to hasbros good output lately.
Marvel Legends for the past 2 years have been great. No complaints at all. Now that they don’t have to do all of the horrible MCU merch, they can focus on comic based figures and they look really good. Hasbro gets a lot of hate but no one else out there is giving us articulation and head sculpts like they are at that price point.
I couldn't put that Tarantula figure down for at least a couple of weeks when I first got it. I think it's a fun figure. Works fine as far as I'm concerned. I'm pumped for the "Strange Tales" wave, although, a lot of people are being negative about it. I've been wanting most of those characters. I agree, though. Good year so far.
🎯Marvel Legends are nice if you’re just getting into them. If you have none of these and buy the new ones they are better than the older ones. Scarlet Spider is a nice example of that, and only for $25.00. Great deal
Quick question I like to ask collectors is what characters do you like or even love but don't have that itch to collect...example I'm a 80s baby and I don't have any Turtles, Thundercats and Joes etc etc lol...I love theme but just cant get around to collect
Basically, I don't go all in on every line, but I at least have favorites from all the lines I'm interested in. Like I have Lion-o, Voltron, my favorite M.A.S.K. vehicle, the main TMNT characters, my favorite GI Joes, a decent amount of Transformers, etc... I like DC, but I'm not all in like I am with Marvel, so I only have representations of the main legacy Justice league characters, and that's it for DC. Along with a bunch of random favorite movie characters from the likes of Neca and Hot Toys ... Kind of running out of room though... Haha... So my issue is: When do I stop???
@LastBastian I do have 1 Transformer, Soundwave and a couple of DC and Marvel characters...Godzilla, Spawn, Predator and Aliens are my main ones then some stuff I just think it looks great lol
@@raffamang Hell yeah! Soundwave has always been a huge favorite for me! And the late 90's - early 2000's Spawn figs are amazing! They're basically what got me back into toys. (Along with that very first Masterpiece Optimus Prime from 20 years ago!) I definitely got into the Neca Predator figs, and splurged on a Hot Toys Predator too! (I have an Aliens Queen vs Ripley power loader display that I made a short video of on RUclips here, btw!) Money and space are limited, but I love having some representation from all the things I loved growing up!
I think ML's headscuplts are fantastic for their price and overall consistency is good, but their skyrocketing price, avaliablity and outdated engineering in most their bucks are still turning my away a lot of the times. The 97 lines is pretty great tho, probably the first time I am getting more than 1 figure per wave for Marvel Legends in years.
@@Toygains This is honestly kind of where I'm at in collecting... The X-97 wave was cool, but I passed because I already have all those characters. (Other than the Cable, and I can't find him *anywhere)* I'm starting to run out of room for my collectables, and I'm also realizing that I nearly have all the characters that I care about at this point. My beloved teams are pretty much complete ...so I might actually be reaching the point of passing on all the fluff and re-releases, and only picking up the occasional special missing character here and there. Right now, Jada Street Fighter is the only line that I feel I "need". Marvel, Star Wars, GI Joe, MOTU, TMNT ... I think I'm pretty much good now. I nearly have every character I love.
Some of those Marvel Legends are Dope and then you have the ones that are more of the same. Either way they are cool, all the colors are vibrant and correct most of the time. Again, I'm guilty of it since I'm looking forward to the Spiderman /Wolverine fantastic 4 edition😊😉😊. So there!!! Hypocrisy at its best 😁😁😁when it comes to figures the love and hate are almost the same🤣🤣
More classic comic characters is great. Old articulation is old. I saw you fix that SheHulk. For me, those thigh and boot cuts are unusable on muscular figures. They may as well not exist.
I disagree. The texture on the Gi is a nice touch. Both have same articulation. Nick Fury head sculpt is slightly better. If comes down to which character you like better. I do like the street Fighter line a lot. But other than M. Bison, who is amazing for the price, the line isn't any better than Marvel legends or McFarlane. Which to me is fine I love those lines.
@@Toygains no it comes down to being objective. Ken comes with far more and has better range of motion. Also you don’t t have to pay a 75 dollar hostage tax to get him. Even packing presentation is better.
@@OldDirtyCollector packaging is top notch for sure. Nick Fury comes with two heads. And smoke effects and several guns. Nick Fury aside. Point is, a really good Marvel Legends is a as good as A Jada street fighter figure. And he does not have better range of motion. The GI by default causes the figure to be more bulky. Maybe Fei Long is sure.
@@Toygains ken comes with a stand for the effect, a larger effect with sculpted hands in it, extra hands, a extra head. Also the quality of the accessories are better made than Hasbro. Come on man. Take both figures and max out their splits and arm range and the SF figures win hands down. It’s a fact. The butterfly joint have more range the ab crunch is on par with ML. Knee bends on par. The splits are far better on the SF figure. Even the ankle pivot and ankle hinges have more range. The ab crunch works fine with the GI you just have to push it a little. I’m not saying the fury figure is bad. It’s just not as close as you think. Especially when it comes down to price.
@@OldDirtyCollector well when you shift into price. I can't argue that the Street fighter line is better. You basically are getting everything you need for that character in one box. I will concede that.
Legends releases and announcements this year have been so good, the most underwhelming thing just might be the Haslab Giant Man.
Agreed. He should be on shelves though.
Jada Toys Ken compared to Tombstone would have been a more fair comparison. Comparing a blank body spandex clad character to detailed uniform sculpt is not a fair comparison.
Exactly. Well there's a big toy reviewer out there that did. My argument is both are good.

That makes it hard for me to pass on. I agree, I think not having to be saddled doing a bad MCU movie wave helps them a lot.
My cable just finally hit my pile of loot. it’s crazy how hard he is to find online without having to pay high on the aftermarket.
Yeah I'm not getting anything from that upcoming wave. I pick and choose because of the pricing.
Legends stepped up in 2024. But the 2-3 pack gimmick killed me. Daredevil and taskmaster
Yeah it's not fun having to buy a two pack for one figure you want
🎯That Shield Three Pack is nice worth the price and filled with accessories tho!
She feels gummy and her knees are discoloured 😂😂😂😂 great review as always dude love the historical contact view
lol thanks man
This latest wave “Strange Tales” is easy pass for me. I only want the BAF Blackheart from it.
Great list! As you said love that Shield pk!!
Yeah Tim!
"BROKEBACK Wolverine!!"
🤣🤣🤣🤣
lol
You literally said everything I've been saying about Legends and where they're at with the line right now. Subscribed.
Sweet! And thanks!!
Fun video! Thanks, for the entertainment, brother. 👍 I’ve really been enjoying ML, so far, this year.
The classics never disappoint

Hasbro, McFarlane get a lot of my money. And if you stick around you'll see I mention a lot of the dumb things they do.

I completely agree.
My only slight complaint is I wish we got more sculpted boots and gloves.
$25-30 with no extra pair of hands or anything on most stuff last year was kinda lame though
This year has been a great comeback though

Oden that’s what I want that’s it !

Gains RE Sabretooth. I bet my collection we will see another re pack w the newly molded parts. I guarantee we will see ST again down the line...
They can't be the number one toy right now. Todd McFarlane came out and said that he was number one. Lol
lol again!?
Marvel Legends?! Am I on the right channel? lol
