Wow this story was on the local news. The guy robbed someone while riding a bike and then carjacked someone for their Toyota and then he tried to rob the man pumping air in his tires. This is a perfect example of why people need guns. The only way to defend yourself with a bad guy with a gun is to have gun that you know how to shoot. The most important thing here is not having a gun. It is situational awareness. Even if you have a gun but you are not constantly checking your surroundings that gun is useless.
@drummingtildeath they aren't, though. People will always find creative ways to get an advantage over someone who is deemed defenseless. People are robbed and violently stabbed in places where there are no guns. There is really no easy answer to the problem. So stay armed and level the playing field
Some people get off work at 11pm, so unfortunately what can you do. And there's been plenty of times I got out of work, needed gas or needed to make a quick stop on the way home.

A few weeks ago three younger guys tried to rob me on Broadway in Nashville but as soon as they realized it wouldn’t be easy, they took off. It seems that in many cases, like in this video, once the perps figure out they don’t have the upper hand, they bolt. Situational awareness is so key.
@@dafunkmonsterit was about 11 PM and on Broadway in Nashville there are thousands of people walking around at that time. We went to a street food vendor to buy a homeless guy and his dog some food. When I got out my wallet these guys must have seen it. They approached me from behind and one guy did the talking. He asked me to “give” him my money. As he said this, his friend put his hands on my shoulders so I swung around to my right and put all three of them in front of me. I had a decent sized pocket knife clipped at the top of my pocket so I put my hand on that while I had words with them. Once they noticed what I was doing they turned and walked away. The food vendor did a good job of calming me down. We went ahead and delivered the food to the homeless guy who was very appreciative. Then we went back to our hotel. I realize that it was technically breaking some rules of stupid but with so many people around us and cops not more than 50 feet away I felt safe. Also, the previous night we had 7 couples with us and therefore had a force of 7 guys. The next night it was just my wife and I. A lesson to be more careful for sure.
I love these videos, they make my day ,and i love how the defender handle that situation.and the last tip u gave was very on point, knowing when to run cause its part of covering your ass is so true.
As a father, I always make sure I have enough gas, air in my tires, and vehicle is in overall good condition to drive at all times! If you drive between 8pm and 7am, the last thing you want to do is stop anywhere for anything. Never used to think of this when I was younger.
I was with my daughter in Tulsa at a gas station in the middle of the afternoon. She pumped gas while I surveyed the area. When we got back in the car and left she said that station was sketchy. I said if you thought it was sketchy in daylight wait until after dark when the sketchy nightshift is out. I told her never go to a convenience store at night.
Perps are smart even moving non stop is no guarantee u can't be a victim. They can stop u 4 a lift, they can play sick or they have a faulty car things like that. We are all prone 2 being their victims at one time pr another. U can stop 2 help a gravely injured guy but turn out as a bait.
I'm a paramedic so I can't help but find myself in stupid situations. Sometimes the trifecta of stupid. But these videos always remind me to stay on my toes. Scene safety first, always. I want to go home to my son.
In Bridgeport Connecticut the was a place called "Father Panik Village." It was so bad that ambulance drivers wouldn't go there because they'd get robbed orr worse. How sad. The bright side, that area was eventually demolished!

Glad you let the viewers know what to look for - anything out of place. I work for a good sized metropolitan pd. LE cant read minds, but we're so used to looking around that we become familiar with our beat. When something looks out of place it sticks out. Just like antique appraisers know a fake from a real antique because they know the original so well. Pay attention to your surroundings when times are good and you will known a bad situation if it comes your way.
I have always struggled with over analyzing areas, situations, and having my head on a swivel from 5 deployments to Iraq, and I say struggle because it just gets annoying and in the way at times. BUT I am glad that I have that and that I am able to quickly analyze the situation and the people around. This guy did a fantastic job showing that he won't back down at first, standing tall, then seeing the guys weapon, he retreated to cover while drawing, getting to the back, and then shadowing the guy running back to the car, but I don't think he fired, (rightfully so to shoot in that situation, but very smart to not fire as he didn't display a weapon), cover fired with accurate fire, and then fled for cover. He is previously trained for sure and he saved his life! Now to go work on faster draw to fire time.
Ive always noticed that in a LOT of these situations in the minds of the criminals they know that the person that they're stealing from is not armed. He could have been going to work for all he knows. People work all kinds of different hours. @@james3593 Correct, the car was out of place. But let's assume the victim wants to drive away. He has to run back around to the driver's side door, unlock it(you DO keep your doors locked, right?), jump in, put the key in the ignition, start it, select a gear, then drive away. You probably couldn't get all that done in the 2 seconds it would take for the thug driver to get out and charge your position. Now, the victim could have taken off running away from the car immediately, which would have also changed the dynamic. But when the unknown car first pulled up, the gas station was still probably safer than the surrounding neighborhood. It was only after the introduction of the thug's gun that escape turned into a better option.
As if whites are any better 😂 you do realize white males are over 75% more likely to rape a child than any race. I don’t condone the behavior from these thugs but don’t act like y’all youth aren’t shooting up schools or public places.
Sadly, the fact that the customer is black, he knows that he has to watch his back with his own people. It wasn’t that anything was out of place or the ordinary, he is just street smart.
Had this happened in California, the victim would have been arrested for discharging his weapon and the robbers would have successfully sued and win for having their feelings hurt. Great work by the victim. If more (trained) people stood up against miscreants like them, crime would essentially disappear.
Unfortunately, that would be the same thing in Massachusetts. I know of a person who pulled his firearm to defend his wife from a robber. He was arrested and charged. He was basically financially ruined after defending himself in court. The robber got 8 years. The robber sued him for mental distress (pissed himself when the gun came out) and won. Used the money to appeal and got a sentence reduced to 3 years. In MA, if a robber comes into your house, YOU MUST FIND A WAY TO LEAVE before resorting to using your gun to defend yourself. If the robber tries to leave and you hold him/her until the police arrive, YOU may be charged with kidnapping. The robber can sue you for kidnapping and mental distress. ANd remember because this is such a liberal state, chances are that the jury will find against you in all these cases. FUXKED UP
SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO BE OUT....BUT he was very very alert and aware AND it was obvious what was occurring. ONLY fault was walking away from the cover of the car. OVERALL... GOOD FOR YOU BUDDY!!!
Amazing situational awareness. Come on, he’s at a gas station why can’t we just go to a gas station in peace. And sorry must be said, a certain social group seems to be the one prone to do these things…

Dude, I like the new hair and beard look. And you're looking in better shape too. Haven't seen videos of yours for a year or so. You're looking good, my man. Livin right.
Easy solution to this situation might be having a portable air compressor that runs off the vehicle's cigarette lighters or power ports. They are not expensive, and they also don't take up much room.
From a purely defensive perspective, keep your tools on you. Great awareness, controlled response, cover fire, and realized he was out gunned, out manned, and exited stage left.
When going into the gas station, or just pumping gas, anywhere really. Im thinking nah itl be ok, im going going in SUPER quick and be back. Then i think to myself, what if today is the day 😅 so i strap up and roll out. Better freaken safe than sorry!
Excellent attention by the defender. He had eyes on that car from the get go and when 1 person got out he was paying close attention. Didn't think twice about backing up and pulling his gun when the other one walked towards him.
Why are you always negative about what people do in real-life circumstances. This guy was 100% spot on, on how this went down. There was 4 guys intending to take his car/money and they didn't get anything and they ran off like scared punks that they are.
I live in a high crime rate city with top 5 murder rates and never have experienced one crime because I avoid at all costs being out at night and avoiding areas that could be dangerous. I carry mobile air compressors, mobile battery jump packs and of course my EDC weapons. An air compressor is like 20 bucks. Don't risk having to be stuck having to go to an empty gas station when you could go to a high traffic store or somewhere you know is a safer area to fill up your tires. I've been stuck in situations having to be in high risk areas and have my head on a swivel not that I don't already do it but I triple check my areas and cars passing by like our defender did here which was good on him. This could have been an ugly situation if he wasn't paying attention to his surroundings.

dude jack black is one hell of a shooting breakdown guy
This channel has made me so very aware of transitional spaces and also fully fearful of gas stations. I stay aware and have my gun at all times.
Awareness is important.
Those thugs if they are ever caught need to be shipped off the US continent.
The only way to defend yourself from multiple assailants is with a gun, whether or not the thugs have guns or not.
It's better to have a society where guns aren't in the hands of criminals. Then these sorts of attacks are less common.
@drummingtildeath they aren't, though. People will always find creative ways to get an advantage over someone who is deemed defenseless. People are robbed and violently stabbed in places where there are no guns. There is really no easy answer to the problem. So stay armed and level the playing field
I hate it when the bad guys live.

Unless your tires are critically low on air, maybe air your tires up another time or when there aren't shady dudes hanging around.

A few weeks ago three younger guys tried to rob me on Broadway in Nashville but as soon as they realized it wouldn’t be easy, they took off.
It seems that in many cases, like in this video, once the perps figure out they don’t have the upper hand, they bolt. Situational awareness is so key.
@@SolidSnake240 thanks, it was a bit dicey since my wife was with me but it was over pretty quickly.
Any more details? Time of day? Were they armed? How did they approach? Did you see them surveilling you beforehand?

4 vs 1, he did just about everything right.
The real lesson #1 is buy an air compressor and fill your tires at home. Jokes aside he did a great job. Love the videos and perspective from you folks here at ASP!
also buy a gas pump and pump your own gas at home.

Glad you let the viewers know what to look for - anything out of place. I work for a good sized metropolitan pd.
That's what I see anyways because as soon as one gets pulled on them it takes them by surprise 🤣 they're like wait wtf this isn't supposed to happen. Never underestimate anyone

Sometimes, you simply don't have a choice and you have to be at a stupid place St stupid hours! @@Poser_Metal_Records it's even better than feeling there is always a safe haven 👍

Had this happened in California, the victim would have been arrested for discharging his weapon and the robbers would have successfully sued and win for having their feelings hurt.
Great work by the victim. If more (trained) people stood up against miscreants like them, crime would essentially disappear.
I’m sorry but f*** the state of California. As a 2nd amendment citizen if I lived in that state I would move out of that state asap. Smh
FUXKED UP

If more fathers would stay in the home and raise their sons correctly, most crimes would disappear. ;)
