    Your comment "slightly better job than the VW thing" 5:50 is the understatement of the century. It's nicest way of putting it. And that's from an ID.3 driver. The explorer is the ID.4 VW should have given people.

    First off, no EV is on my list just yet - the cynical overpricing has a way to go for the majority of us. It will be at some stage though, it’s the way to go.
    Having said that, I really like the look of this. Far superior in styling to some of the odd designs that KIA is turning out just now and way less cumbersome than VW’s ‘bread van’ theme.
    A shame that they’ve included the VW things on the interior that are regularly criticised in those cars, the window switches, haptic buttons etc: hopefully they’ll evolve out eventually.
    Friends and neighbours - both young and older - who have id3 and id4 models all, without exception, talk of those as annoying and unnecessary. Then there’s the software issues that, apparently, VW still cannot fix.
    Minor things in the bigger picture of ownership of course but 5 of said owners, 2 who have been VW buyers for many years, have stated they will end their relationship with VW after their current cars and have actively dissuaded others from buying one.
    Poor interior quality of the new cars in so many ways being what they are. Especially as they’re expected to pay premium prices for cars that have obviously been built ‘to a price.’
    That would have been unthinkable at one time.
    They also say that VW after sales has always been sub standard but they could live with that because the cars were so well built: well, the bits you looked at and touched anyway. So darned solid. But not now it seems which is a shame.
    This though looks really promising and a design that will age well. (Unlike myself)
    Let’s hope Ford use their own software though.
    Nice review.

    • @pato10111
      @pato10111 11 месяцев назад +1

      I think the ID issues are over exaggerated and mostly highlighted online by car reviewers. My wife's ID4 is still heaps better than her old Tiguan. Remember, it's still the best selling EV in Ireland and most people don't care about a few software issues and haptic buttons. The new software in the ID7 is excellent and this will be rolled into the ID4 facelift next year. Like the ID4 this car will sell well. It's big, in the price range of middle income young families and it's a Ford.

  • @trevorhale8192
    @trevorhale8192 5 месяцев назад

    Would have liked the vehicle to be a bit larger. The rear seat legroom looks a bit tight to me. Not really an ‘Explorer’ with respect to the U.S. version. I know it’s been designed for the European market. Just a bit too small - shame!! I think by the time it’s officially released and production is underway, it’s going to be already in ‘catch up’ mode. Other manufacturers & models are going to be better.
