    This one will be a success. I have ordered, and I know of many others who have too. In Norway, electric cars are quite common and almost everyone only buys electric cars, including trucks. Beautiful car!

    Great review as always - and as a 2021 Fiesta ST Line X hybrid owner, I still don't undertand Ford's decision to kill off its baby star plus soon-to-be scrapped Focus. Not all of us can afford a 45k leccy one.

    I can't fathom why reviewers hate the window controls so much. The only time I open the rear windows in my car from the drivers seat is when I do it my mistake, which happens all the time! Only having 2 switches to feel for is a useful feature in my mind

    • @NobbyOnCars
      @NobbyOnCars  3 месяца назад

      it's an extra step, the buttons in general though, put on the headlights and sometimes the max air con comes on for the windscreen instead. The whole collection does not work properly.

    • @oreillymj
      @oreillymj 3 месяца назад +1

      I agree that I actually prefer just 2 buttons. I've lost track of the number of times I've pulled up to a toll booth and opened the rear window instead of my drivers window. That just adds to the hassle of fishing for coins or getting my phone ready.

    • @27lacuna27

    I saw Vinfast VF9 and it looks more beautiful and better than this ford explorer ev in everyday. The VF9 exterior looks so good. Door handles are so nice inside the door and cokes out when it's needed to open. Why the hell ford didn't do something like that knowing a EV car supposed to be very futuristic and just have a wonderful appearance and feel.

    It’s a lovely looking car, but it’s kinda of a case of too little, too late from ford. It’s been too long coming around and the competition has moved on since. The price doesn’t do it justice either, it’s too expensive for what your getting

    It is a first generation EV, when companies are launching the second generation EVs. Maybe Ford is trying to exchange time with electrons, maybe they need to trade-off CO2 with petrol built F150s made in USA. Will it be selling? Again the future prediction leads to problematic answers. Some target groups might love this car, maybe it will be successful in some countries. Take as an example the Q4 e-tron. Similar story, built on MEB, successful in Germany and a relative success in US. I am curious to know how Ford executives feel about the relationship they are developing with the VW group. I don't see they share a collective benefit from the exchange of technology. Only the cost benefit from sharing platforms and parts.

    Having been a ford driver the last 20 years, recently driven the ID4/5 and got my hands on the explorer last week to try this is not the car ford needed for it's customers. That centre storage tunnel in the middle is so flimsy and poor quality I actually thought I broke it. The seats are nice but everything else just feels so far detached from ford Europe that we loved for so many years. The market is crying out for a B segment hatchback, an electric hot hatch fiesta or focus and we get this instead, what a shame

      Your comment is a long list today of comments from people who are Ford fans and are dismayed by this car. I don’t think I’ve ever had a reaction to a car quite like this. I don’t know if it’s the looks, the price etc or just a lot of different things combined for people.

    Explorer ... nah. Maybe call it an Cuga EV?
    No roof rails. No 17 inch rims (18 might be OK). No heated stearingwheel. Disapointing. On the other hand, 20cm ground clearing is decent, but not sure it has got any extra protection under or in front.
    Im not looking for an Off Road car, but gravel, muddy and snowy roads is not uncommon here. Root-stubbs and embedded rocks and deep wheel tracks are other common obstacles.
    Back to the roof mounting options. Expensive proprietary mounts is the only option so far. I fear they wil lead to leaks in the door and scratches in the paint. I want various roof-cargo. Canoe, Bikes, Roof tent, power aggregate, Water barrel, skies and other outdoors life equipement. So I made several instagram names in vain in anticipation....

    Yes … they’ve definitely dropped the ball… if not worse! It looks good… but yeah, VW must’ve done a sketchy deal. Appalled that Ford agreed to it. The phone not charging ? That “American” Ford can’t charge “American” Apple is incredible. No frunk? No heat pump. Stupid VW switchgear. For a former Ford fanboy, this is a very disappointing effort. First car to drive was Ford Corsair… aged 11… in a caravan park in Norn Ireland. First and second cars were Cortina and Escort - both Mk2. Had Mondeo when it came out first - still rate it the best car that I ever had. Afraid that Korea has won me over! Any Kia/Hyundai knocks the socks off this Explorer. #rantoverfornow!!

    Oh goody! Another mid size SUV EV🫤.
    Your initial comments on the popularity of the Fiesta and Focus makes me think Ford have missed a trick by not producing Focus EV (yes I’m aware of their compliance Focus EV from 10 years ago, but that was rubbish). I very nearly traded my current Ford Focus on a Cupra Born, but couldn’t make the numbers work. The Born proves a vehicle of that size is viable. Not everyone wants an SUV (despite what manufacturers may think) and a practical sized car with a decent hatch suits a lot of families. The Explorer is really too big for tight country lanes and small parking spots.

    Here in the UK the price is close to the Enyaq, which has a far larger boot. I agree with Nobby, if the price comes down it might be acceptable, but the size is closer to a Niro than an ID.4. I did get to see the first right hand drive model of this car a couple of months ago and the back seats are OK. How can you have a sun roof without a shade?
