I have been SUFFERING with pinched nerve pain with a massive muscle knot in shoulder that is visible to doctor. Pain that ranges from 3 to 9 on a scale of 10 every day for past month with no results from doctor, chiro, the physio exercises I've been given. Nothing. I tried this one and couldn't get my arm very high at all before pain, so said ok, just to that point. Did it 3 times and wow, it just feels like it REALLY did something. Will have to wait for rest of the day and monitor, but this seemed very useful. Thanks much!
Dealing with a pinched nerve in C3-C4. Tried a towel based maneuver to take pressure off the discs in my neck and now I'm getting tingling sensations in my pinkey, despite that I didn't pull to hard or for too long. Any exercises you can recommend for that?
Hi Paul, that's the clearest instruction and rationale for median nerve gliding I've seen. Thanks. Does an ulnar nerve glide also glide the median nerve? I have problems with both nerves and aren't sure I should do both glides. Thanks! Pete
I fell on my wrist 6 weeks ago, xray came back clear. Ultrasound showed median nerve inflammation. I can't bend my wrist towards my thumb without horrible pain. What options do i have, is this normal from a fall on my wrist hand. Thank you
What is it called when you get mild but persistent numbness on your shoulders and lower neck from sitting against a hard chair back? Or from sleeping on a too firm mattress/pillow. What exercises, treatments, supplements can help to heal the numbness?
I just started researching the shock pain I started getting in my median nerve and I came across your information and video. I have been doing this exercise daily. I’m a mosaic artist so I spend hours snapping tile. I already noticed that I don’t have as severe a pain after a days work. I just want to be proactive about the wear and tear with exercises like this that are specific to my needs. Thank You!
I am a deep muscle massage therapist and I have a 2 yr old granddaughter. Between the 2, I am suffering a lot with golfer's elbow. I just can't get any relief because I keep them aggravated all the time. Do you have any ideas on how to treat this besides massage? And do you recommend ice or moist heat? I've always used ice but was just told to use moist heat. Which is correct, or alternate? Appreciate any help. Thanks 😊
I have serve nerve damage to my ulnar and median nerves in my left arm. I am able to move my arm but unable to fully bend my fingers. This injury occurred during printing while I was hospitalized for pneumonia and ARDS. Physical therapy has basically been bending my fingers to get ROM but my hand and fingers remain swollen twice their normal size. there has been slow progress in moving my fingers on my own. Wrist area feels like it's in a vice. Elbow area in the underside of forearm is very tender. Could this type of exercise help?
Idk if you reply. Sprained my wrist pretty bad two weeks ago. Went to get an X-ray and they said there was just a lot of swelling against the nerves, bruising has pretty much gone away. Starting to get full function in my hand but still have tightness in my forearm and can’t fully rotate my forearm/wrist. My question is should I be doing these exercises or is it too soon?
It relaxes it but the pain comes back after I stop… Bicep was sensitive today Than I felt the thumb palm area painful Though I ve been having months of on and off pain on my top elbow
OMG...this was almost unbearable. But you described exactly what happened tp me about 36 yrs ago. Old football injury. Ortho dr was lookin for a broken collar bone or dislocation probably. He couldnt find anyrhing after about 5 mins of pulling on my collaebone. He said wherevef it is, its stable. Those where his exact words. Gave me a sling and 2 persxriptions for anti inflammatory and pain.
Im 62 now. Had a fall 2 years ago, broke the radial head in my right elbow. Had surgery , 2 screws. 1 year later I've gotten about 95 % mobility back, which is great, but.. now, 2 years later, certain activities I do have caused tightness on my whole right side. I dont know if I reinjured the elbow or what's going on. I got chiropractic treatment and the hip and low back are much better. But the shoulder gets a knot, which makes the neck hurt and my right side tight, numbness and tingling in my right foot and hand. I'm researching everything to figure out what's going on. Driving and sitting make it worse. Walking and moving make it better.
I have been telling doctors and therapists about the numbing in my arm for awhile now. In the past, I have had surgery (cervical fusion), PT, massage therapy and have never been told anything about a "median nerve". I am very excited about trying this exercise. We will see how this helps long term, but upon first doing the complete exercise, I already feel a relief in the tension in my shoulder. very excited, but a little sad that this has never been explained to me. Thanks and I will report back later.
I am unable to move my wrist or my fingers, but I can't feel my fingers just not my arm. I can do the exercise but I can't move my wrist. Is this a problem? Is there something else I could do to unlock my wrist?
Hi I’m not too sure is that what it is but, I use my computer for work alot and also my xbox. Been experiencing a little numbness and the urge to clench my fist. I hand hand surgery 3 years ago and I recently had an X-ray showing everything is in place and good. What could be the issue and how long should I take a break from my normal activities
Hi Dan, there are a lot of reasons why someone might have those symptoms. You should have it evaluated to rule out a neck problem and work down to the fingers
I watched 5 median nerve glide videos and you are the ONLY one who shows a demonstration with the arm lower -- at the height those of us coming off proximal humerus fractures can achieve. With other videos I can't even achieve the starting position, much less do the exercise. Thank you for for this realistic, helpful video for those of us dealing with the many repercussions of this difficult injury.
O m goodness!!!!! This right here is magical . Thank you so much for sharing. On my way to recovery.
did it help ?
This is Unbelievable. Why is this not common knowledge. Every therapist should know this !!
I know right!

are you good now?
Hands down the most effective exercise and relieved so much of my pain. Thank you
Glad it helped!

Hi Peter, no, not much but here is the ulnar nerve glide. It is OK to do them both but gently. Good luck! ruclips.net/video/_RqaQErKMpE/видео.html

Sorry. Too vague. With those symptoms, you should get an evaluation to find the source of the problem
If I can put my arm all the way up, would I do the exercise like that?
holy shit. Why didn't I know about this sooner?
It hurts to do it but my neck as I do it starts. Hurting and I hear cracking is that normal
is it unusual to have tingling in the fingers as a result of this exercise?
Really works ! Thanks 🙏
I can make a fist again lol
Great Mike!

Why hands gets numb sir
I have been facing this issue from 1 year it goes off and again it appeared very badly

I got my arm much higher the second time
Pretty amazing isn't it?
@@OrthoEvalPal I'm positive this helped with my nerve pain. I noticed an immediate improvement and now I do it every day
Wow this working amazing
Glad to hear it!
Thank you so much for this advice
Very clearly explained. Thank you
Can this cause facial numbness? Right above the neck?

Yes this can be painful if your nerve is not gliding well. This should be performed very gently

There are many things I can cause upper extremity discomfort. Don’t forget the neck. Nerve root compression can certainly cause pain down the arm.
Very helpful, thanks so much! How many times each day should I do this routine? I am also using anti-inflammatories and cervical traction.
I would do 5 reps each side 2 times a day
Very nice, also the style 👌🏽
Proper knowledge….so if doing this exercise along with others, using proper Stints & massaging wrist & forearms do u feel this can reverse the damage?
Maybe not in everyone but definitely been having a lot of positive responses from patients and people who have tried the exercises

How often in a week I should do this?
Any difference between gliding n stretching the median nerve? When do u glide n when to stretch
starts at 1:20
Let them watch it completely! If the video starts at 1:20 you wouldn't have to ignore one minute and twenty seconds, Mrs. Tik Tok generation.

Thank you sir ❤
Very good!
It would have been helpful to repeat it a few times so I don't have to reset the video each time to learn it.
