Collective soul needs to be in the rock and roll hall of fame for sure. Definitely one of the best bands to come out of the 90's

*Quality ppl like this in voice and songs should be as huge as a Guns N Roses band, this band is known but they deserve double more recognition , its unbelievable*

Still awesome to see Ed sing this song with so much emotion even though it’s over 20 years old, more emotion that most artists put into current day music. The 90s were a good time for music.

For people who say rhythm guitar sucks, or Dean can't play a thing- his role might be simple here but his guitar adds SO MUCH flavor, sound, tone and emotion to this version. It is easily my favorite version of "She Said". Thanks Dean for your skills!

@@ARprod885 Ugh IKR... I'm always reading people saying that he's just a prop, or that his guitar isn't even on. But I can guarantee Dean would absolutely shred in front of their eyes if they asked him to. He has every ounce of talent. It's because he plays rhythm and chooses not to be the center of attention that makes people think he's a coward with no talent. It's PATHETIC. No, Dean isn't the greatest guitarist of all time but he does the job for Collective Soul and adds his own unique style. Everyone just has to complain or idolize Ross like he's a god. It's funny because Ross played lead, and did completely different parts than Dean, so you really can't compare them.

This band needs all three guitars or else it's not what it's supposed to be. That's the fun in Collective Soul.

@@TempoDrift1480 which is why it becomes a “ Collective” effort....right?

@@ARprod885 Hey I get it! I'm 22, I discovered the band when I was 19. Maybe us "younger people" have more respect for for the band since we discovered them at a later time and we're forced to see the band as a whole, rather than a period of time. And thanks for subscribing to my channel! I do social media specialist work for Collective Soul now (hence my late response, sorry!)
Although I wouldn't call Ross a loser. I'm pretty close to Collective Soul, not just because I work for them but I'm friends with them. Like, I was just at Ed's house last December lol. Yes what Ross did was the most backstabbing, heartless thing someone could ever do to their best friend, band made and their family, but Ross is not a monster. He has suffered his own consequences for 2 decades and deeply regrets what he's done. His issue is that he wants to apologize to Ed but he doesn't know how to because he tore Ed's life apart. Now, it comes down to whether Ed is going to accept his apologies or not... because the whole band is trying to make a reunion happen and it's going to take a load of time.
I know lots of more info about the guys but I'm not sure what I can share do to their privacy. All I will say is that Ross is not doing too well these days because of his mistakes, and everyone is tired of the hatred between each other. Ironically, Ed's ex-wife Stephanie and his current wife Michaeline are close. As you know, Ross has known Ed for much much longer than we've even been alive... and with a band celebrating their 30 year anniversary this year, they're tired of all this negativity lingering for so long. I just spoke with Dean face to face at a casino last month after a show for 1 hour... sweetest guy honestly ever, though it's not the first time I've met him lol... it seems like lately he's been searching for something bigger, more meaningful. We had a beautiful talk about life and it's struggles, before he gave me the deepest, warmest hug and his $101 voucher from the game he won. It hurts me when people harass Dean because I know what kind of a loving man he is personally... I mean he's my friend, technically my work partner and my soul family. It appears as if Collective Soul is going through huge life-changes right now. I have to keep things a secret for now (I'm in a non-disclosure thing with the band), but stick around being a Collective Soul fan for another year, and you'll see what I mean by the life-changes. Now's the time to be a Collective Soul fan!

This approach works in this stripped down almost conversational version ( not the heavily processed but still good original version). As someone who prefers listening to and playing organic instruments, I like this version. Perhaps it's too much of a departure for those who are comfortable with the popular version. 🤔.

She said, that time is unfair
    To a woman her age
    Now that wisdom has come
    Everything else fades
    She said, she realizes
    She's seen her better days
She said, she can't look back
    To her days of youth
    What she thought were lies
    She later found was truth
She said, her daddy had dreams
    But he drank them away
    And her mother's to blame
For the way she is today
    Life's river shall rise
    She said
Then only the strong shall survive
    She said
    But I'm feeling quite weak
    She said
Will you comfort and forgive me?
    She said
    She said she's still searching
    For salvation's light
    Yeah, she wishes all day
And then she prays all night
She said, she won't speak of love
    Because love she's never known
    When it's moments like these
And she hates to be alone
    Life's river shall rise
    She said
Then only the strong shall survive
    She said
    But I'm feeling quite weak
    She said
Will you comfort and forgive me?
    She said
    Life's river shall rise
    She said
Then only the strong shall survive
    She said
    But I'm feeling quite weak
    She said
Will you comfort and forgive me?
    She said
    Life's river shall rise
    She said
Then only the strong shall survive
    She said
    But I'm feeling quite weak
    She said
Will you comfort and forgive, forgive me?
    She said
    Forgive me
    She said
    Forgive me
    She said
