She’s not saying not to speak. She is telling us not to reward bad behavior with laughter, approbation or acknowledgment. And when the uncomfortable silence has made its point and you are asked what you think you can use your calm, analytical voice to answer that question. As I did when asked who I had slept with to get my promotion.

If you want more women in tech. Then more women should study tech and take advantage of the equal opportunity they have to work for tech companies. Actually there are no government paid initiatives to get more men in tech. Gender quotes means preferential hiring which is sexist and unfair. A person should be hired because they are the best person for the job. EVIDENCE has clearly shown that less women, a lot less women study STEM so therefore less women end up in STEM jobs. Period. If you want to equalise things. Stop marrying up. Marry down. Lots of women don't work in high pay jobs because the don't need to or want to. Unless you want to deny hypergamy exists. Her claims about sexism in the work place is completely baseless.

I thought the message was asking women *to* ignore potentially offensive behaviors in a male dominated profession.
      To ignore it purposefully.
I don't see her as asking men to change on a global level. My impression is that she's asking women to stop "laughing along" when we hear antiquated quips that are obviously rooted in perpetuating stereotypes. Perhaps this will help men be more aware of the impact of their actions. My suspicion is these types of jokes are just routine, and not really noticed at all. Like a script repeated.
I like that she didn't vilify men, or blame them for wanting, and being able to, reach higher. There's no shame in doing this.

One can only talk about morals and make speeches when they are on high moral grounds. No religion allows women to wear revealing dresses. I have seen men respecting women in workplaces when they (women) respect themselves. This world is full of many issues to solve. It's my request to all men and women like you, don't make long speeches on the issues that have been created by them because of ignoring social and religious boundaries set for men and women. Leave this platform for the real issues related to humanity poverty, hunger, social abuse, and domestic abuse to the real victimized men and women. if women like you continue to make speeches regarding nonissues, portraying them as big social issues it will end up victimizing real victims. Have mercy on this world...
