    Hey guys this video will focus on improving the beginners skills in fusion 360.
    This is nice exercise to put to practice what we have learned so far.
    We are going to create a pipe fitting component (elbow).
    This elbow may be used to connect two pipes of I.D.75 mm, perpendicularly to each other. The importance of elbow is it allows fluid to pass uniformly without any obstruction.

    Was trying this on my own for a while. Feel like if I had to pipes I should be able to extrude them together easily. But this works to. And out of the other tutorials this was honestly the best!

    There is symmetry 45 deg through the middle of the arc. So you could just build half the pipe looking from the top and then mirror across the 45 deg plane

    If you are already a bit familiar with the commands and can do the object yourself without watching this video step-by-step, I suggest you do the object your way and then watch the video on how Spark Plug here did it, then you can see if he used any shortcuts that would make your life easier.
    What I also suggest is:
    When you are about to make the connection parts/flanges of the pipe, i suggest you draw the same sketch out as he did, D150, but before extrude, already make those small circles with the same 2D circular pattern. Then after that extrude the piece you need.
    For the second flange/top connection, you can mirror the previously made connection, slide the timeline back 1 bit (before extrude), make a construction plane between the top pipe and right side pipe. You should get a construction plane at 45 degrees, just like the radius 200 is shown on the 2D sketch.
    Now you can slide the timeline back to "present" (so that the first extrude of the flange piece is done), select mirror, select the flange and for mirror plane select the 45degree plane that you just created.
    And everything should be nice!.
    Thanks for the videos!
    Great for beginners.

    "You can add appearance by going to appearance" is NOT A TUTORIAL. Tell us where you are clicking, what it looks like, whether you are pressing shift or control. You must explain, not just demonstrate. I learned a lot. Thanks for making the video.

    • @casade2831
      @casade2831 4 года назад +1

      @@SPARKPLUG98 ter VS tre. In the USA, the normal and correct way is milli-meter. In England or other places around the world, it is also correct to say milli-metre . Both of you are correct! Lol, I could be wrong, though!!

    • @stephentraskos3130
      @stephentraskos3130 2 года назад +1

      a couple years late, but you're not completely correct.
      "Mil" does not mean the same thing depending upon whom you are speaking with, which can be industry dependent. Several industries in the US bastardize the Metric and Imperial together. Many machinists I have worked with, from novices to experts use "mils" as shorthand to denote "milli-inches". They will also freely interchange "mils" with "thous" (to be understood as "thousandth's of an inch"). I have received spools that denote product in "MF" to be read as mega-feet. Yes, it's obnoxious. but depending on whom you're speaking with and possibly handing over technical drawings to these things cannot be taken for granted.

    Thanks for the exercise. PLEASE Note, the 6 bolt pattern you created in the second flange does not match the drawing. The holes are not clocked correctly. The hole patterns for both flanges should be clocked the same. 👍😎👍

    Hi there! At 6:55 when you were sketching the circle, it does not seem to be locked down, (black). Why not? Is it ok to leave the sketch without locking it down? By the way, good tutorial!

    Question: where in the original technical drawing was the radius of the bolt pattern shown to be 65mm?

    • @cc-to
      @cc-to 2 года назад

      it wasn't; in the narration he mentions this and says something to the effect of we'll just use 65 mm. I'd have centred them in the flange, I think; or measured from the drawing.

    I have a problem with the last part when we have to make the 5mm curve. When I do this it separates the parts apart bue to the curvature.

      I ran into the same problem, and I think you made the same mistake I did. When you extrude the flange piece, about 5:20, you have to extrude both circles. After I changed that my fillet worked just fine.

  • @jv3648
    @jv3648 3 года назад +1

    Well, it is clear to me that you know your work, but the title "for beginner´s" is not correct, if this is the first exercise how a beginner can move around with the speed you do not knowing even what a plane it is or how to understand the table ???? it is clear that your title is to catch viewers and not to teach.
