- We are tinkering with the Vauxhall Astra Mk4 irmscher and Project Man's FZR600 in this video. We do a bit of valeting detailing including using Sharon's wet vac and do some upholstery cleaning and removing some stubborn glue. We also try out a wheel cleaner and have a look at Project Man's FZR600 that has a couple of electrical issues. We also run it up after doing an oil change and see if the engine rattle has disappeared.

The red dot on the tire is supposed to be lined up with the valve for the best balancing using the least amount of weight. So you're right it doesn't really matter, maybe used a little more weight on rim to balance the tire
To my knowledge the red dot marks the heaviest spot on the tire therefore it should be on the opposite side of the valve, which it is. So correctly mounted.
So is it the heavy side or the light side? 😁😁😁
I checked again and MechTech ist right, the red dot is on the lightest spot, the yellow dot on the heaviest. My bad, sorry.
Don’t listen to the shite people say , I enjoy watching your self and Gary your son on videos together as my dad and I have numerous bikes our selfs , which include 2 1200 GLHonda goldwings 1 1500 Honda goldwing 1 VFR 800 1 ZX6R 1 VTR 1000 Firestorm and 1 CB 900 custom , but unfortunately my dad passed away recently and watching the 2 of you reminds me so much of my dad and me he was 69 when he passed away hardest thing I’ve ever had to deal with , so you carry on in videos with Gary 👍

Petrol cap is looking well Martin just shows time and patience gets results. I had to laugh about the tyre dots you mentioned and ocd that someone had commented on it, iirc from my days on maintenance in a well known tyre company the dots were placed on tyres to assist the fitter when the wheel and tyre were put on the balancing machine. The valet pro stuff is also very good I had never heard of it before and bought a tub of their wax, I polished and waxed my car with it and it came up lovely and is still beading up after 2 months.

Bloody weather hasn't stopped raining, plus work every evening. My long weekend doesn't look any better.

Forget about all the negative comments. You're both doing an amazing job on every video you post maybe it's not for some people those people can just click off the video they don't have to watch it. You have inspired me to want to restore things and I'm planning my first project to be a mondeo st tdci then hopefully also an st 220 they are massively under rated cars.

I thought the dot on tyre had to go opposite the valve as the valve is heaviest part of wheel and the dot on tyre is normally where the heaviest part of tyre is to help with the balancing process. (First comment wow)

Correct training tire manufacturers put these two dots on for a pacific reason it’s just not paint......
It is but its does matter if its balanced right
I thought it was not sure where I picked the knowledge from but it stuck lol
Check out Eric the Car Guy. He explains reason for the dots.
It makes no difference as the wheels are balanced afterwards.

Paint marks on the tyres are just a guide for fitting for the weight/balanceing part of the tyre/wheel it doesn't matter one bit mate

Good to see updates, btw 'Servisol Super 10' switch cleaning lubricant is great for switches, connectors and contacts. I've used it for years with great success. Not expensive either.

I'm sure its fine as the car looks tidy but if you're not aware a common spot for rust on these is around the fuel filler neck under its gaiter, well worth removing and cleaning if you intend keeping it a while,
Ebay sell decent leather gearstick gaiters if needed,
I hope the wife gets on ok with the Irmscher front splitter, they look good but mine caught on everything so sadly it had to go.

Try Autosmart red 7 wheel cleaner it's absolutely amazing at getting brake dust and grime off your wheels and even car. Pre warning it stinks reall bad but does the job.

my mate is a mobile tyre fitter he told me the yellow dot is the joint line for the rubber mold. it dose not really matter a long as the wheel is balanced. the mark is for factory's
